The pictures seem to make it look like a champagnes-ish color IMO. Not quite a silver. It could be worse. My first choice was the purple, but it was gone, and, LIS, the only one still left was that one. In the end, it doesn't matter. It's not one with Nixon's face on it, so it'll be good... :p:D:cool:
 
They (mine) have/has to be domestic as 'Next Day Air Saver' is domestic only.

Mine now shows "Origin Scan" in Louisville, KY but not details on the tracking info like delivery address and delivery date.

I wonder if there will be stock around tomorrow. I know when I ordered, they weren't allowing for pickup at stores (Covid?) and my date is in October.

Now, if you configure an ipad, you get: "Check availability starting 9/24" for local stores.

For sure! Guess I’m going to have to go “naked” with the mini until they release one. Probably just keep it home as well for the time being. I haven’t really looked into it much but I’m guessing this model defender will require buying a tempered glass screen protector?
 
Mine switched to shipping this morning. Being delivered to NYC from Carlisle, PA which is an Apple distribution center (I've received other items from the same address and also returned IUP iPhones to the same address). These units were manufactured and delivered to the states from China prior to release.

Does anyone know if the iPad mini 6 supports "tap to wake"? Apple website lists the supported models as iPad Pro, iPad Air 4th gen, and iPad 9th gen. Just found it a little disappointing (and strange) that the new basic iPad will get that feature but the iPad mini won't...I haven't seen it mentioned in any of the reviews I've watched/read. I find myself using tap to wake on my phone a lot and missing it on my mini 5, so I was hoping to see it on the new mini!

I'm betting it does if the iPad Air 4 does. Although it's probably not as useful as you need to use the touch id power button to unlock it.

Starlight is supposedly silver with a tint of yellow/gold. Some people have described the color as champagne but others have said the tint is more subtle than champagne. iJustine said she liked the color very much.

I am hoping it's just an oversight on the Apple web page and that you're right. Honestly, my primary use for tap to wake is to check the battery % when my phone is charging or the time. So I don't necessarily even want it to unlock. Currently on my iPad mini, I press the home button with a finger that isn't registered which serves basically the same purpose. It's the only thing I would miss about losing the home button on the new one, if tap to wake isn't supported.

Yes. I had a feeling that was the case. It's a present for my wife so I wanted it engraved. It's still arriving sooner than originally estimated. I think October 6th was the original delivery date.
 
ugh I thought my tracking showed up for the Mini but it was only my trade in box for my iPhone :(
 
Still preparing to ship with an arrival date of tomorrow, Sep 24. Apple must have a transporter. I will say, however, that over the years I have ordered a bunch of stuff directly from Apple and all items have arrived by the promised date. We shall see.
 
My iPhone is showing up on UPS My Choice as shipped, but the iPad mini is showing as “ready for UPS” (shipping from Tennessee) with a “pending delivery date.”
