Guess I’ll wait 3 years before getting my new iPad mini then.
But then you'll have to wait another 3 years because there'll be rumours that the Mini 9 will have some other "must have" feature.

I mean, don't get the Mini 7 if you really don't need/want one, but life is to short to always be waiting for what might come later.

The new iPad Mini looked obsolete even before it was released. The iPad Mini 8 will have OLED and reduced bezels which will make it look more modern. Would be cool if they included some other kind of technology too like MagSafe wireless charging for the iPad Mini.

Yeahhh! The iPad mini 7 is OLD NEWS! It's time to GET EXCITED about Apple's best product pipeline EVER! Get ready for the ALL NEW iPad mini 8, with the best, most powerful, most advanced iPad mini processor Apple has ever released in an iPad mini. And Apple didn't stop there. The ALL NEW iPad mini 8 now has Apple Intelligence BUILT IN. To take things to the next level, Apple is thrilled to announce the BEST EVER iPad mini screen Apple has ever released in an iPad mini, built on Apple's best-in-class OLED technology!

Luckily this comes from an industry expert (who has been wrong in the past with his oled predictions). No one else could have predicted such a (possible) rumor several years in advance!

Yeah… I’ve been waiting 4 years already (on an iPad mini 5, skipped the 6).

I’d love an OLED iPad mini 8 but I’m just going to go ahead and get the iPad mini 7 (already ordered, arriving tomorrow). If I really can’t handle the remaining jelly scroll I’ll return it and wait but otherwise I’m just going to be happy using this device instead of waiting another 3 years for features that may never happen. Plus Apple will probably listen to everyone on here clamoring for smaller bezels. One of my main reasons for upgrading is the larger bezels. My iPad mini 5 is really hard to hold in portrait via the bezels.

I bought the base model and it should be an easy trade in if this iPad mini 8 ever actually happens, but right now I’m good.

VISION PRO COMPATIBLE?…..Actually, here’s one feature I’d be willing to pay an upgrade price for:

I have Apple Vision Pro and I’m in love with spatial photos and spatial video. The design of the iPhone is such that the cameras which can record in those formats don’t have the lenses spaced very far apart so they don’t do a good job. The Vision Pro itself has the lenses spaced apart, so it does a better job, but I can’t walk around like a Borg trying to make video

If Apple made a new iPad mini, but put an extra lens spaced very far away from the first lens that it would be incredible, capturing spatial video and would be a compact enough device that I would carry around with me

yes, I know there are third-party cameras that will do that but Apple’s always very funny about video and photograph format. Also, the iCloud syncing in the Photos app is very convenient.

so much miss information...at this point its just speculation and clickbait
With iPads Pro having moved to the even-better-than-regular-OLED tandem OLED, the lesser iPads can now be allowed to escape their LCD purgatory and not cannibalize iPad Pro sales.

So, this actually does check out.

Then iPhones Pro just need to move to tandem OLED so that the mid-tier iPhones can adopt ProMotion (or "Semi-ProMotion at 90Hz, which is more likely).

But this next iPad mini is also 2-3 years off.

I wonder how long it will take Samsung to introduce a Snapdragon powered, Linux capable OLED iPad-like device...

I'd buy in a heartbeat

I'm money waiting to be had for a reasonably smallish tablet with specs worthy of 2024 and beyond (display is my main thing)

Apple continuing on with junk screens in the Mini is just offensive honestly (at the prices they charge)

all good, but first fix that 2/3 android tablet aspect ratio.
That's part of the attraction for me. I find it very useful for viewing A4 docs as they pretty much fill the screen

If the next one is oled, and I haven't jumped ship to Android by that stage, this is likely to be my next iPad.
