I have been wanting a pink or purple iPad for years... bizarre that they should release both but no blue. Now I don’t know which to buy and doubt with COVID it’d be possible to just walk in and view them.

I'm going from Pro 11 to new iPad mini 6. For my usage the smaller size will
be quite convenient. When the M1's came out I started thinking about the
Mini but didn't want the old design. Very excited to try the smaller form factor.

Soon as I saw it and the design I had been hoping it would be for the last few years since the iPad Pro redesign, I knew I would have to have it. have ordered the purple mini 256g cellular, arrives next week. Ordered cherry folio for it. It’s a long time since I ordered a cellular ipad but I will take this one out a lot and GPS will be useful. I find tethering drains iPhone battery.

But isn’t that a girl’s iPad as guys like big devices like you like to claim?
Yes, its better for your purse and will go nicely with your small watch for the complete ensemble. I was speaking power is now better but form factor will fit you nicely.

How much is the data plan for iPad? I think it's like $50 for 25Gb on Att seems steep.

It is very different in terms of screen real estate. I have the current iPad mini 7.9 which is just shy of 8 inches and the iPad Pro 11. The iPad mini is much nicer to use and hold though.
I agree

$10/month ($10.41 with tax, for me, Verizon in California) to add it to a shared data plan (shared with your phone(s))

Should be…I don’t see difference both devices will consume same amount of data. It’s not like comparing flip phone to iPhone.
Yes, as cellular data service is tied to the SIM, not the device. I can move the SIM from my iPad mini to my iPad pro.

I’m paying $35/month prepaid for unlimited data, standalone AT&T on an iPad Pro 11 2021 and a Mini 5. (I have a Verizon Android phone with a 2G data plan + 2G bonus data and Verizon doesn’t have good signal at our camp, but AT&T is decent. It’s cheaper for me to pay $70 to AT&T plus just under $90 to Verizon than to go with an unlimited Verizon plan with the iPads on it, plus it suits my needs better.)

Wondering if the lack of ProMotion is a negative. I’m not a gamer so wondering what else that might affect.

It is a huge negative for me, the fluidity you get with ProMotion is useful for everything, just switching between apps is less fluid without it.

If they had put 6gb ram in they might not have been able to keep up with production of orders.

It seems to be very subjective. There are a lot of people who don't want to live without it, and a lot of people who barely even notice it. I lean toward the latter. It’s only obvious to me when I use a promotion and non promotion device side by side.

I’m thinking it must be some physiological difference in people’s eyes and/or brains that makes promotion so obvious to some and not to others. It would be fascinating to see a study on this someday. Or perhaps a similar study has already been done.

It may also be age. The older I get the faster media is looking. Like I run modern action shows at 90% speed. Gamers probably prefer 110%.

I think it is also a lot about what you are used to, I am using high refresh rate for everything these days, I work on it, I game on it, I use it on my iPad Pro and so on. Once you are used to high refresh rate it is very easy to notice when you don’t have it.

I can tell a big difference in the screens on the times I leave the office at home where I supplied the equipment and head into the company equipped office instead for example.
