I have a "DECODED Slim Cover" which is actually a smart case but have mixed feelings.

While it looks very solid and well finished, it is significantly thicker and heavier than the Apple full-leather smart case I had on my iPad Air. I'm not fond of the mix of hard black plastic and leather on the back either.

I bought the above because I came across it in a brick and mortar shop, but I think I should have bought the following instead:

I just ordered a smartshell pro from them a few weeks ago. It just shipped. I'll post a few pictures once I receive it.

Story Leather case is pretty nice so far. Amazing leather quality. Magnets are a little weak on the closure and I’m having a little trouble getting the lid to fold as a stand, it’s a little tight. Might be because the leather is new though.

Hi folks, my little feedback from an Apple knock off smart cover (full cover, front and rear), bought from Ebay as well
Firstly, it took some time, almost 3/4 weeks dispatched from China
The texture is so smooth and looks great, i love it
There is also an Apple logo on the rear
Huge downsides, a fingerprint marking on the front and a small gap between front and rear
I am disapointed, it looks like i received a defect one

So far the only case that I have liked is this one by Khomo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073BHG329/

The material on it seems more durable than other cases, and the fit is better, but it's also a little bit stiff when folding back. The biggest downside is that I've found iPad cases that have integrated Apple Pencil holders have a fatal flaw: the Apple Pencil was designed to not go to sleep when in close proximity to the iPad display. This case keeps it from going to sleep during normal use, requiring you to turn off Bluetooth to keep from having to charge it so often. And considering the changes to Control Center that require you to toggle the Bluetooth off each and every day, you'll need to dive into the Settings app to toggle it off. But if you use it frequently, then it's annoying. And if you use AirPods like me, it's pretty much pointless and you have to basically charge your Apple Pencil frequently. I wish the thing had an off switch, or wouldn't turn on unless you pressed the bottom of it to a surface.

I wish they made a version of this case without the Apple Pencil holder. I haven't tried their cheaper case but it looks less protective with fewer covered ports that makes it look uglier.

Can you please explain what this grey border is? My fake smart case doesn't have that. Is it a defect or a feature?

Yes its grey from borders, but i dont think its a defect at all
I have sold it in order to buy in dark brown this time
I will upload pics if needed

Just got these DinoDing cover. Man I was looking for a case that protects the bezel all around. I use my iPad Pro like a phone, I put them in my messenger bag and put them on my desk, but these are the closest I found, despite one of the side still has cutouts to be compatible with the keyboard. Was wondering can manufacturers start making cases for people who don't use the keyboard? I think these are new and just got on Amazon, they have no reviews but from the photos they looked good I pulled the trigger :D

The back is a glossy clear hard plastic, which also means it's a finger-print magnet :( At least it's thin...
Fits very well, feels solid, no complains with the button feedback they are solid!

I’m a little late to the party but I just bought a 10.5 and after reading the entire 47 page thread I’m amazed at the lack of good options for this. I bought a spider folio I’m going to send back, the buttons are very tough to get to, it’s a bit bulky and there’s a flap that holds the screen cover and it gets in the way and doesn’t keep it shut. Basically it’s a failure all around, a surprise coming from Spigen.

Most of the cases and folios people have posted here are nearly the same, I’m willing to bet that most are made by 1 or 2 actual manufacturers and just branded differently.

I mave a moko in the mail that will hopefully be better than this spigen. The only really nice case I’ve seen so far is the sena future folio but it’s $90. Lots of money but I may cave in and get it since the options are so limited.

Follow up question, have any of you tired both the tech 21 and uag? Those are in my to few I'm considering and I'm leaning toward the uag since it has its own cover.

The Tech 21 is nice if you use the Smart Keyboard as it has the cutout for that. If you don’t use the Smart Keyboard, then I recommend the Zugu Prodigy X. The Zugu is the best case out there as it has good protection, good access to all buttons, a great stand with many angles, and is well made with good materials. However, it doesn’t have a cutout for the Smart Keyboard. I use mine with the Apple Magic Keyboard and it works great.

Thanks for that, I may look at that next. Got the moko case and it’s only ok, better than the spigen and I can at least access the buttons now but the magnets are very weak and the cover will flop open at the slightest movement. Just a hard plastic shell inside and the “cooling” cutout is just dumb. I’ll keep it for now but I’m really missing my air2 leather case. I did order a fake $10 leather case so we will see what that’s like. I should probably just quit and order the $89 sena case.

Anybody have one of those Senas? I don’t think I saw any pictures yet in this thread.
