I'm trying 1 more case, I found a seconds Pad and Quill case on etsy and ordered it. It was slightly more than 1/2 price, call it 5/8 price maybe. It's supposed to have slight imperfections in the leather and the magnets are "not guaranteed" to work but I just couldn't bring myself to pay $130 for a case that I may or may not like and keep.

Tech21 case is available direct at their website and is on sale for 25% off. Sale ends in a little over 4 days. Use ORDER10 for an extra 10% off and ebates for 5%. Free shipping and returns. Total should be $47.21 before ebates. https://www.tech21.com

I bought a seconds pad and quill case and it’s the one to keep. $70 from Etsy because the magnet doesn’t work but the leather is great quality. Very impressed with this one, highly recommended.

I picked up an Apple Smart case for $20 new. I've been seeing it on major Authorized dealers sites but slept on them. Finally picked up one this week from B&H. I want to mod it to look like a Notebook. I wonder if the price reduction is because of the new colors that came out?

Update: I now have both Smart Cases - Cobalt Blue and White. I don't see a difference in them..meaning that they don't have a flaw. I can't wait to mod the white one. I want it to look like a Composition notebook since I couldn't fine one for the 10.5.

For those with the Khomo case, it does NOT protect the iPad when accidentally dropped.

My iPad slipped out of my hands the other day and landed on a concrete pavement on the corner where the power button is. It was actually not snug at that corner to start with and it managed come off the iPad before it hit the ground. Now I have a massive dent in this corner!

Just got these DinoDing cover. Man I was looking for a case that protects the bezel all around. I use my iPad Pro like a phone, I put them in my messenger bag and put them on my desk, but these are the closest I found, despite one of the side still has cutouts to be compatible with the keyboard. Was wondering can manufacturers start making cases for people who don't use the keyboard? I think these are new and just got on Amazon, they have no reviews but from the photos they looked good I pulled the trigger :D

The back is a glossy clear hard plastic, which also means it's a finger-print magnet :( At least it's thin...
Fits very well, feels solid, no complains with the button feedback they are solid!

Hi all. I bought an iPad Pro 10.5 and I am looking for a second case. I can’t find what I want.

I had an iPad Mini 2 with an Apple leather case. Perfect fit. I was also able to one hand the Mini with that case.

I want something like it, but I also want a hand strap on the inside of the cover so I can one hand my iPad Pro.

I am a professor and I walk while I lecture. I must have a strap to one hand my iPad.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Khomo is trash. You should have known better than to trust that cheap piece of junk to protect your iPad. I read the reviews of it and many have had jagged interiors that left dents and scratches on people's iPads. I even ordered it myself but I never used it because the quality was horrific! I currently switch between the Tech 21 with a Smart Cover or the Jisoncase. The Jison is the best option if your looking for a Smart Case alternative.

I’ve learnt my lesson alright.

I’m now using an UAG metropolis. It’s ugly but would survive a good drop.

If you don’t mind speculating, I’m curious about whether or not having a case could make someone less careful handling the iPad. In hindsight, do you think you’d have been less likely to drop the iPad if it only had the Smart Cover or was the incident the sort that was beyond your control? I’m currently using only a Smart Cover on my 10.5 and am trying to avoid taking the iPad anywhere until it is better protected, but I handle it very differently than I did my previous 12.9 for which I had a TPU case. So I’m considering avoiding the back case completely.

I rarely take my iPad out of the house but I took it to a meeting one afternoon. I wasn't in a rush or anything but it just slipped out of my hand. It could've been the case being slippery or I had a false sense of security with case on. I just didn't think the case would slip off the iPad so easily.

Yes I wouldn't take it anywhere until you have a decent case on. You can be careful but accidents do happen. Either that or get AppleCare+.

I wanted to take my iPad somewhere yesterday, but still hadn’t bought a case, and came very close to putting it in my messenger bag, even having cringed at your photos of iPad damage. However, I managed to drop my iPhone X face down on the sidewalk yesterday from shoulder height while taking a pic, but it was completely saved by its case (Apple Leather, btw) so that sealed the deal right then and there about using a case on the iPad. I immediately went to Micro Center to buy the UAG metropolis. More good luck, they had them on sale.

I’m using just the back cover which fits nicely with my ASK and Smart Cover. A day later, I’m actually very pleased. Yes, it adds some weight, but I really like how much easier it is to pick now and hold with the case on.

UAG is a great case. Does add a bit of weight but its not like it is 100lbs.. People go to the gym working on being able to Lyft more weights then complain about a few hundred grams on an iPhone lol..
I would rather it be a little heavier instead of breaking a screen on a $900 iPhone.

Nice! How much did you get the case for? I found one for an iPad mini 4 for $7 at Staples.

I just got this one:

It has a strap on the back as well as shoulder straps. You could always get any kind of case and put a strap, sold separately, on it.
