Is there parallax offset between the tip of the pen and where the drawing lines actually appear?

Congrats on your iPad Pro, it looks wonderful! I am really craving these iPad Pro's (exagerating a bit 😅) because I love deep blacks, actually hated to pass back to iPhone 7 from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as I loved the oled screen much more. So from your words i can see that they have oled like deep blacks, which is wonderful, my only concern is my personal need, a matte screen protector..

My iPad Pro has an amazing screen (2018) but once i applied the matte screen protector, as it was expected, the quality has degraded a little bit but I just can't draw on glass and as much as I use my iPad Pro for media consumption as well, I use it a lot to draw on procreate, affinity designer, clip studio paint..etc etc. So most probably I will need a screen protector on these M1 iPad Pros too. I will have to wait and see some reviews with matte screen protector. I think that the screen protector you applied is a normal glass one, right?

Black comparison with 11” 2018 iPad Pro.

Nice but you can definitely see that the general area around the white text and UI elements is lit-up meaning the blacks around it aren't fully black. No a surprise knowing how the technology works, but it would be interesting to see a comparison whereby lets say text is being displayed across the whole screen while in dark mode. I.e. with the white text all accross the display would the black background actually look darker?

That blooming looks similar to really bad backlight issues. That’d annoy me so much. Think i made the right choice going with 11”

That blooming does not exist in real life but only in photos and videos I'd say go check them out in person and you will see a major difference between the photos/videos and the real life test.

That photo does not do the 12.9 " mini-led display justice and I can assure you that the blooming is NOT all like what's being shown in the photo.

Also got the white magic keyboard and I like how they look together!

Took some pics before and after I applied the dbrand skins. Note of caution - The edge pieces of the swarm skin is too thick and gets lifted off when you close the MGK…

Doesn’t matter how many times we say this, people keep going on about the same thing, bet they’ll change their tune just like I did once they see this awesome display.

I would’ve been the first person to take it back if I was seeing constant blooming.

Go to a store and try it out. No amount of photos/videos will accurately display the panel

That blooming around the bar and text tho… wow that’s not good at all!

Calm down everyone! The blooming does not exist in real life… It’s probably the way the iPhone camera works in low light conditions (I shut the curtains to take a better video of the comparison against the 11” 2018 iPP when watching black content).

Like what Kung gu has said, photos or videos don’t do the display justice. You need to see it in person to appreciate the amazing quality.

Was watching Life of Pi (4K HDR) from iTunes and there's this scene where the sun was rising, my eyes weren't burnt by staring into the sun.

I've seen true HDR movies before and when you look at 1,000 nits (e.g. bright sky, sun), your eyes will hurt. I don't get that with the few HDR movies I've tried watching on the iPad Pro 2021.

On the other hand, HDR videos on Youtube are indeed showing off true HDR effects. The extra contrast is very noticeable even if you don't have an older iPad Pro beside to compare.

That looks awesome. I went Silver/White MKB, so excited to get it now.

I had the Swarm skin on the back of my old iPad and the grip was great, sad to hear the fit is not good on this one.

Just received mine.

Well, im one of those who really doesnt care much about the M1 and the upcoming "Pro Features".
I use my iPad 2018 12.9 most of the times just for web surfing and watching movies/tv shows, and i wasnt very pleased with the screen of the 2018 compared to my Oled Tvs.

What can i say. The new Mini Led screen is night and day compared to my 2018 ipad, specially when watching in a pretty dark room. iTunes Dolby Vision movies are looking amazing and a lot better. Really cool. But non HDR content in a bright room doesnt make a big difference.

The new iPad screen is a big upgrade for sure, but spending so much money just for better media cosumption, puh, still feels kinda crazy.

Better get use to it, as long as we keep buying everything apple makes, these prices will continue to go up 😁🤦‍♂️😂

At least these expensive devices are supported for 6+ years, my 3rd gen pro could of easily lasted me another 4 years if I wanted it to, decided to take the trade in offer while I could still get some decent coin for it.

No noticeable difference for parallax offset or distance between the tip and lines.

The shadow effect on all four edges due to the thicker glass or distance away from LCD is noticeable though.
Thanks, is there any squeaking noise while drawing? Some 2020 had this issue, maybe the coating.
