So for those of you who know that I was able to jump the line and get my iPad pro early (thanks to Best Buy), I wanted to give you guys a little update about my usage and whatnot (and for new people as well).
A small Timeline (for anyone interested):
August 13: Ordered an IPP 11", 128gb, space gray, no engraving, wifi only iPad (free AirPods w/ Edu discount) through Apple
August 13-31: Processing
September 01: Browsed Best Buy out of my own curiosity. Canceled Apple order and ordered through Best Buy. Best Buy offered the same price w/ Edu discount minus AirPods. Ordered all accessories and Pencil (through Apple, b/c cheaper (surprisingly!))
September 02: Returned Airpods and Ipad shipped by Best Buy from Ohio.
September 03: Went through an "excruciating" all-day wait, hoping for my iPad to arrive before classes (yes, i know the wait isn't as bad as waiting a month). Accessories delivered earlier. Ipad delivered to my house after classes @ 5 pm (of course after my classes were over).
Now, I wanna start off by saying that this little slab is a powerhouse and an absolute lifesaver in ochem (i can't draw for the life of me, even if its just lines). I've spent over 70 hours on notability for class notes. I love having everything digitalized and I don't have to worry about messing up or losing papers. I don't think I could go back to paper notes tbh. I also love playing games because of the larger screen. This has practically become my new phone, I feel like I barely use my phone, minus texting, and some social media.
For my screen protector, I got the mate "paperlike" elecom one (on amazon). I love it. It definitely doesn't feel like paper but I like the friction between the screen and pencil. I haven't noticed any wear on both the pencil and SP and I write on it about 4-5 hrs a day. So I highly suggest it if you want a decent matte paperlike screen protector for a good price. My case is the ESR yippee and it fits very well and has enough protection that I'm good with. Supports charging of pencil as well. Would also recommend for a slim, auto-lock, and simple case.
Sorry for how long this is I just wanted you all to know how having the Ipad is for me since a few others have done it as well. I have a few other accessories if anyone wants to know, but I just wanted to go over the 2 big ones that people mostly ask about ( i can also send links to my accessories bought on amazon). I wish you all (who have not received your IPP) good luck in your wait! And just know it will be over soon enough and you'll have a new toy!
