I'm still kinda having low key second thoughts on whether I should just get the 12.9 inch model or not. I mean I already have the magic keyboard and smart folio for the 11 inch so it'd be a hassle to return it, and I've already waited 18 days and it should be arriving between the 24th and the 1st so what's a few more days of torture. I had been waiting to get the iPad Pro since they announced them in 2018 and I had decided back then on the 11 inch as I felt it'd be lighter and easier to travel with as opposed to a giant slab I always thought the 12.9 inch model to be compared to the 7.9 inch mini 4 I've been using as my primary non-phone communication device for three years, however after playing with both models at BestBuy it threw me into this quandary as the 11 inch just seems like it's only slightly bigger then the 7.9 inch mini, and a YouTube reviewer who first said the 11 inch model was the way to go now has gone back and stated he was wrong and is now touting how the 12.9 inch isn't as heavy as he was expecting with his job in a hospital and how much he prefers it for doing things. He then goes into the psychology of the screen sizes and how the Pro is used with creation and productivity verses consumption.
You should go with your gut. No sense staying with a product you won’t be happy with. That said, I’m female, also tall, and don’t have small hands. I had the 12.9“ for a few days, and I found that by the time I added a case, it was just too cumbersome for my usage scenario. It was beautiful, but it felt clumsy to me, and I was terrified of dropping it. It would have been wonderful if I were going to use it primarily while sitting at a desk.

Just something to consider. Maybe you should order the one from Best Buy and use it until the 11” arrives. Then you can make an informed decision. I’m sure Apple would issue a refund or credit if you decide to stay with the 12”, given that you haven’t received the 11” yet.

I’m not sure if this is the thread for just the US or if it’s for every country. I’m planning to place an order for the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9” with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Are the dispatch estimates accurate or do Apple tend to overestimate them?

There definitely seems to be a backlog on these Pro iPads. They must be selling well, which is great news for Apple and those with Apple stock ;)

I thought I could wait until the next iPad Pro (likely to be next year) but my 2017 iPad Pro battery isn’t as good as it once was. So I’m going to bite the bullet, order the new one and pass my current 2017 iPad Pro down to my mother, who won’t take full advantage of it but the battery life will be better than her current Air 2.

Plan on a 4 to 5 week wait for your new iPad. The extensive wait times have been like this for a few months now. I was going to place an order a few months months back, but the long wait times scared me off. When the wait times did not improve, I took the plunge and ordered a 12.9" at the end of August. Frustratingly, I had the chance to pick one up earlier this year at one of the local Apple stores, but I waited too long and Apple closed all of their stores around here again.

There's another topic for EU but we keep this one up to date for everyone I think. So welcome to the waiting club haha! I can say that Apple's ETA is kind of accurate. We are the ones who are in 20ish days right now. It stay about 24-25 day until it ships. But of course there could be differences. Anyways we are here for you to keep you busy. Otherwise you can lose your mind through out this action! 😂
This would imply I had a mind to begin with 🤪

Me in a nutshell. Even though I have AppleCare+ for my iPhone 11 Pro I take better care of it then I do anything else I own, even myself. I'd rest my iPhone on a satin pillow if I wasn't afraid it'd overheat while charging. I live in a constant state of anxiety whenever there is a cat and an Apple product with a screen in the same room as I'm afraid they're gonna jump up on it when they climb and inadvertently scratch the screen with their claws or knock it onto the floor. I can only imagine how I'm gonna be with the Pro. 🤣 Let's just say I'm glad AppleCare+ covers both the iPad and the Magic Keyboard.

I really want to have an Apple Care. I think this would make me relax a little bit. One of my life goals as a newly graduated student is using my tech products without overthinking about scratching, braking or at best without case or protection haha! Because I do think these products are so beautiful and we have to appreciate their beauty with using them as naked as possible. Talking about mostly for iPhone because iPad Pro looks incredible with MK! 😂

I like the idea of trying one and seeing if I like it and make a decision then, but unfortunately I can't afford to do that and seeing as I've yet to be charged for the 11 inch from Apple, I'm expecting that to occur any day now and I want to keep that money available. Also BestBuy doesn't have the 12.9 inch model in stock. Don't get me wrong, I'd still be happy with the 11 inch, I mean heck I'd be happy with the Air 4. I'm probably gonna stick with the 11 inch and remind myself that the money I'm saving pays for a year of AppleCare+.

I'm sorry if I'm disrupting the decorum of the thread. Just tired and frustrated by this whole situation. Maybe I'm crazy. I could easily drive an hour and pick one up at a Bestbuy which states it has two in stock but I guess I'm a glutton for punishment or I feel like I'd be disloyal to this thread? I dunno. 😕
The ipad is in stock at my local apple store, I would cancel in a heartbeat and buy it there and pick it up today, but unfortaintely I gave my friend the airpods I got when I purchased from apple.com so I cant return it! The wait has to happen!

I had horrible luck with the ones I got from Best Buy here in Canada in July with screen issues and quality issues out of the box, though it might just be because they got a bad batch. But who knows, maybe yours will turn out better if you decide to go that route lol. If you do, I would open it and check it to make sure it’s free of any defects before cancelling from Apple just to be safe.
I got mine from the Apple store, fingers crossed, I will drive back home and then try and update here.

I'm a big fan of Apple's official cases. They look great on the iPhones and iPads and they feel great too. I still miss the iPad smart cases that combined the smart cover with the case which came in leather and silicone. I did find the leather cases for both the iPad and iPhone got loose over time where as the silicone cases kept their shape after years of use.
It's a shame Apple isn't making these silicone and leather cases for the current line of iPad's. I don't like that the back isn't protected, which is honestly one of the reasons why I went with the Pro, for the folio protection offered by the smart folio and magic keyboard. Maybe they'll change their minds and bring them back, but if the 2018 and 2020 Pros and Air 4 are any indication, maybe not.

So even though I’ve been waiting for 18 days, I went ahead and hopped on Best Buy and ordered the 12.9” 256GB, space gray WiFi+Cellular and I paid an extra $25 for expedited shipping and it’s “suppose” to be here Tuesday 9/22, so FINGERS CROSSED they don’t send me an email in a little but saying it’s back ordered. I physically can’t wait anymore. My life depends on getting and IPP within a week. 😂

I couldn't agree more with you. Silicon cases are the best but unfortunately official cases are so damn expensive in Turkey. I cannot find courage or craziness to buy one. I did buy 7+ leather case back then it was amazing. Still thinking about folio case for iPP. But like I said it's expensive so I think I might as well buy the folio keyboard instead just folio case. If I'm gonna do a big purchase why not wait-save and go for the best one?

Omg! I got movement!
I ordered the 11” with 512GB on August 23, with the estimated dates of Sept. 24 - Oct. 1.
It just shipped today and it’s supposed to arrive on Sept 22.
I am so excited!
Congrats! I ordered a 128GB 11 inch on September 1st with estimated dates of September 24th to October 1st as well but I just checked and it's still processing. 😕

The Apple Folio Case and Smart Keyboard Folio don’t provide much protection if you were to say, drop it :/

The Magic Keyboard does, and mine Sustained most of the Impact when It fell off a Chair.

If you cannot Afford the Magic Keyboard, you could get a 3rd Part Folio Case. I heard the the Logitech Keyboard case with Trackpad costs the same as Apple’s Folio case with just a Keyboard. It might be worth Checking Out!

Can I ask what language? English is my first language and Im very new to studying German where the nouns are capitolized
Oh, It’s not because certain Words are Capitalized in my language. It’s because I just find that it makes more sense for me to Capitalize Nouns. I just did it. Is Noun a noun? I don’t know.

But if you are wondering, I’m from India and speak Hindi and Kannada, 2 Indian Languages as well as English. I do live in America though lol.

The magic keyboard and smart folio, and I think the smart keyboard folio are all made from polyurethane and I don't have any experience with that, so hopefully it'll stand up to use over time. I ordered the magic keyboard and smart folio and they both feel nice and smooth, but slightly less grippy then my well loved iPad Mini 4 Apple silicone case but that might change.

Which keyboard are you looking at? The Magic Keyboard which I've heard rave reviews about the keyboard, or the smart keyboard with the sealed keys?

Yes, your math seems Accurate for the Charging One.

Also I think that the Magic Keyboard Firmware is Updated Independently to the iPadOS Updates. I think it happens Overnight when the Magic Keyboard is connected to the iPad and it’s charging.
I spotted this old article which mentions the ability to update firmware of accessories via the smart connect. I thought it was an interesting read. https://www.engadget.com/2016-01-28-ipad-pro-firmware-smart-connector.html

I wouldn't rely on any type of case in terms of dropping iPad but thanks for heads up! Will keep in my mind! MK is obviously a lot more expensive than the others. Since I have my Macbook now I cannot find any reason to buy MK or folio keyboard. I can do that type of things with my Mac. That's the reason why I look for official silicon cases but still thinking back and forth about it's price. In terms of long term I have plans to sell my Mac to go full iPad. That'll probably be with MK. For now, need cheaper, reliable, good looking cases. 😂

I am looking for best deals out there since the keyboard is not necessary for now. For just case, is it worth to go official silicone one? Or if I'm paying that amount of money I think I can save up a little more to afford folio keyboard which I don't need now... A lot of things to consider but easy to say that I just need 1 good case to start using and covering my iPad from scratches while I use pencil to write on it.

I have 1 official Apple Smart Folio case, and 2 much less expensive cases from Amazon; one of them has a flexible back frame for protection from drops. As for a keyboard, I chose the Logitech K380 keyboard and M350 Pebble mouse. They are reasonably priced and work beautifully together. Took less than a minute to pair them both. They fit perfectly in my bag with my iPad and cables, etc. Perfect for someone on a budget like me (plus, I’m considering getting the new iPhone when they are released). 😊

For the iPad Pro, this is what I got myself (along with the Magic Keyboard) and I think it's pretty awesome. https://www.apple.com/tr/shop/product/MH003ZM/A/11-inç-ipad-pro-2-nesil-için-smart-folio-pembe-greyfurt?
