I live in New Zealand and Just bought an Ipad Pro 11'' 2020 wifi only, on 23rd July and the expected delivery is 25th August to 7th September!!!! It is still processing on the status of my order and I am pretty upset as all the retail shops around are out of stock nation wide so that is why I chose to order from apple straight. Now have to wait a bloody long time to finally get it - at that rate I would have forgotten I purchased it in the first place lol. Will update if there are any changes.
Sadly, Apple's Delivery Dates seem to be Accurate. It may Arrive a few days before what they tell you, but other than that you're gonna have to wait at least 3 weeks for anything to start happening. I ordered my 11" IPP on July 6 and still it has not been moved to "Preparing to Ship".

Oh wow, what was your estimated date of delivery?
I did a bit of Math and Based on what @kdoug 's Experience was, yours should move to "Preparing to Ship" on or Around July 31st. Mine should move there on or Around August 3. Almost there, only a Week for me and this Friday for you!

Apple Follows a 2-Year Cycle with their iPad Pros:

First 2 Years 2016-2017:
Breakthrough 2016: Announces new iPad Pro 9.7" With new Camera, Display, and Form Factor with A9X Processor.
Small Update 2017: New 10.5" Screen size, small Processor Update to A10X, Slightly better Display and Cameras.
Next 2 Models 2018-2020:
Breakthrough Update 2018: New Screen size (11"), New Form Factor, waaay better Processor (A12X), Better Cameras, Face ID, Lots of other things that I forgot
Small Update 2020: Basically the same thing, slightly better Processor (A12z), add another camera and a LIDAR Sensor, and that's it.

I think that Apple will introduce a new Model next year, based on what they've done in the past. Or, you know. Be Apple and release another one this year and be like "Ha!" in our poor Faces that got the First iPad Pro in 2020. Still keeping my order though. I need a new iPad, my poor 9.7" Pro gets hot Running something like YouTube. And my 9.7" Pro is literally at the Repair Shop because it's Screen just stopped working.
If I were you I'd keep my Order, this iPad that we ordered is a Polished version of 2018's. I'd rather have something Polished than some new technology that hasn't been Proved Reliable yet. If I could, I would get a New 10.5" Pro, basically the 2018 IPP but with a Home Button, a Headphone Jack, and the iPhone 7 Cameras. AND it has ProMotion, so yay. But still keeping my Order for the New Pro, as I can't find a Brand New IPP 10.5" and it's Smart Keyboard and Silicone Case.

Would not shock me one bit if Apple updated the iPad Pro in a month. This year's "update" was basically nonexistent, very reminiscent of basically meaningless upgrades to Macs in the past, designed to juice sales to clear existing inventory before the real update comes out.

Well then we'd be getting a Rare iPad Pro then, only out for 4 Months xD

Yeah, they did this with the Vega Macbook Pro two years or so ago. People were freaking out that their two-month old, just released $5,000 computer was completely outclassed three months later. Basically, if the "update" is something that requires no refabrication, just plug-and-play components, it's quite possibly a head-fake update. ESPECIALLY if the shipping is drastically delayed, implying the supply chain has now dried up.

I’m not sure what the “real” update would be. The camera, processor and hardware are best in class. Magic keyboard is brand new and designed to fit the 11” and 12.9” so a redesign isn’t in the cards.

Interesting to see that Apple now offers "Express" Delivery on iPad Pros ordered today. They didn't offer this when I got mine. But it's the same Delivery Date lol

What is with all these reports of new IPad Pro’s in sept/Oct.
The rumourmongers seem to be going into overdrive and thinking everything is going to be renewed

new iPads, phones, watches, macs, home pods, etc

seems a bit far fetched in light of recent issues, but on the IPads, you begin to question should you cancel your orders in case a new one is out the month after?

I read this stuff too - also, never heard of the website reporting this news, so I take it with a grain of salt. But I have the very first iPad Pro from 2015 and it still works beautifully. Unless the next iPad Pro can be foldable, this years model is a pretty great upgrade from 2015 iPad Pro ??

Lots of articles about Mini-LED and also 5G coverage (I only use the WiFi edition) in the next iPad. I DONT NEED IT TO BE BRIGHTER, just give me speed, storage, processing power - can’t ask for much more than that :)

Urghhh still no progress. Now the pencil shows the same " As soon as the item is ready, we’ll send you an update. " as the keyboard. It appears this is the message they display when things haven't shipped when it reaches the first day of the expected arrival date.

I find it interesting that my AirPod Pros were shipped 2 day FedEx and my iPad Pro was shipped UPS (China) today the 28th with an expected delivery date on the 5th of August. This lines up with the estimate Apple gave me of the 30th through the 7th but over 1 week to get here? I don’t recall any of my previous iPad orders taking that long when coming from China but then again I think they were shipped by FedEx. As @DiamondarBoss mentioned, make sure and click Express Delivery if given the option and it’s free.

I ordered a 12.9" on July 7 with an arrival date of Aug 6-13. My card was charged yesterday and the status went to "preparing to ship". I just got an email saying it had shipped this morning and would be here Aug. 5th.

My question is why does it take so long to get here from China. All my previous orders from Apple that came from China usually get here in 2-4 days.

Awesome. I ordered a 12.9" on July 12. Maybe this means I can expect a change in status within the next 4 days or so. I've never been this meticulous with tracking an order, and I'm seriously ready for an update. My pencil, though, has an expected arrival date of Aug 6-13, and I have yet to see any change in its status.

Yup, I’m hoping to see a change in status this week sometime.

My estimated arrival of the pencil is 28 July - 4 Aug and it's still "Processing". Pretty sure they're behind schedule now - or they've just forgotten about my order.

Same for the keyboard - 27 July - 3rd Aug and "Processing".

YAY! After 25 Days of waiting, some people finally got theirs on "Preparing to Ship"! Seems like the 12.9" Pros take about 20 days to get there while the 11" Pros take about 25 days to get there. So mine should move to "Preparing to Ship" this Thursday or Friday! Can't wait!

I find it weird that even though @iThink Apple Ordered his iPad Pro 3 Days Earlier than mine, that we have the Same Delivery dates. Hopefully this means that:
A: Your iPad will come earlier than August 5-12.
B: Our iPads will be ready at the same time, so we will get them at the same time.
In the Case of Option B, my iPad should go Preparing to ship BEFORE the end of the week.
