So I called USPS to ask them what the hell is going on. Basically they just confirmed it’s in GA like I didn’t know that. Lol But they did put a rush on it. Not sure if that’ll help it. But...

If you have a Costco near you, I would check there. They had the exact model in stock that I have been waiting a month to get from Apple. 12.9" Space Gray 256GB WiFi only.

Luckily , my order has shipped today and its in my city today itself. Maybe its not coming from other country. Will deliver soon as friday is holday here

My order changed today to Preparing to Ship.
My order date was August 31st with an original delivery window of Oct 1-8th.

My order changed to preparing to ship and I almost fainted. What's annoying is I was looking at Apple's website to check availability dates and found a number of Apple stores in my area now have my configuration in stock today and tomorrow.
Hopefully it'll fix the annoying lock screen swipe to answer issue on my iPhone.

lucky! I have the same order date and delivery window as you but mine still says "processing"
Well remember that if you have AppleCare+ the pencil is covered.
