The iPad also has a touchscreen issue that seems rather common. Check out how many threads there are on the topic.

Using MacRumors forums to help buying decisions is like assessing whether a city is a healthy place to live by going to the local hospital and looking at the patients there.

Search for any problem (tech or health) and you will find plenty of hits.

Very happy iPad Pro 12.9 third Gen owner here.

Sorry, but this line of thinking only applies for so long. There are a lot of posts about touch screen issues on the Pro iPads and Apple just recently acknowledged very similar issues on the iPhone X due to a faulty sensor. It seems likely these issues are related.

Not saying the problems don't exist, sometimes in quite large numbers, like people in hospital really are ill.....only that these forums exaggerate the scale of problems. We geeks who hang out here don't have the big picture....only the hospital version. The press contribute because any problems (especially for big names) is news and 'no problem' is not news.

What's your source for that figure?

I know you don't have one, but the point is you don't even see what you did there having just agreed with the previous comment.

My source is I’m happy with mine. I know a few people with iPad pros who are also happy with there’s. Browsing around on some retail websites will also reveal a long list of happy buyers. These forums are mostly related to problems with a device, or which device to get next?

Do you want a service bulletin put out on every iPad owners device or something?

So, then everyone will be looking for a problem that they are currently not experiencing?

If it breaks, I’ll get another one. mine is ok though. And I’m using it just fine. I play PUBG frequently, and I cannot deal with touch issues at all.

Also, a lot of the touch rumors you hear currently or that still exist are screen protector related. And 12.2 fixed this issue. So, the amount of users that are experiencing touch issues that are not screen protector related is much smaller.

I know all about it, I’ve researched it top to bottom and experienced it first hand! I made a video on this subject, YouTubers have clicked on it about 40k times, I also went through (3) iPads getting a good one.

Even with all that being said, it seems the average user doesn’t have issues with it.

Thanks, so no credible source to support your 95% figure. Just wanted to be clear.

Link please, I'm interested in viewing it. The fact that you had to go through 3 is hardly a glowing reference.

This was my very first one I’m the video, bought it at the beginning of this year. After tiring of the issue, I exchanged it through apple warranty. The 2nd unit had the same issue “not as bad though”. Then I assumed that apples refurb models all had these touch issues, and they were slipping through the cracks with the problem going unnoticed. So, I bought a brand new 11” unlocked 1TB retail sealed model. (Not wanting to get another refurb unit)

It has been perfect, and I haven’t looked back.

I never lost money during this ordeal. And in the beginning I was ready to throw the first (2) in the trash, and walk away.

I’ve dealt with the frustration. And it isn’t fun..

I’m pushing 3 months with this current model, and no touch problems so far. I feel blessed.

That video was made long before we had 12.2 update. And everyone thought I was having screen protector problems. And I never used a screen protector on the first 2 iPads.

You should make more videos!

Almost all iPads come slightly bent or will bend with very little to no problem. My 9.7" bent while in a super rigid and tough case... but need more proof that this #bendgate is complete bull s***...

The only way these wouldn't bend so easily is if they were, newly developed magnesium, steel, or mixed non-pure titanium...
With the new iPads at 5.86mm (Aluminum) THEY WILL bend more easily because... science.
*Yes even if Apple uses 7000 series Aluminum, they will still bend, (maybe not quite as easily, but still not hard to bend at all,) there will still be countless #bendgates or threads about "Bent iPads" unless they used stronger material than Aluminum.

Agree on the strength Of 2018 12.9 Pro. Had it in got Apple keyboard folio and in a sleeve. Dropped on kitchen floor and it did a 1 inch crease dent. Was absolute shocked. AppleCare replaced no issue. Very fragile.

The strength really has put me off the 12.9 gen 3.
Honestly I don’t get why people are so afraid... yes the iPad can bend with not a ton of pressure... but so did the 6.1mm iPad Air 2-iPad Pro 10.5” all iPads since Air 2 could easily bend. Remember this is the internet and MacRumors’ forum, everything is always analyzed then blown out of proportion in 0-140mph.

Due to Twitter, posts here, and ridiculous YouTube videos... any Apple or iPad fan/user will now subconsciously be more weary of these new ipad’s durability or possible bending. *honestly I know it’s irrational thinking but I too find myself baby-ing my 2018 11” and 12.9” a little more and worrying about them bending. I just remind myself of logic and physics and the irrational thoughts and stress go away.
This whole issue reminds me of when a friend or family member in a close environment would get sick but I wouldn’t think anything of it until the person reveals it is a contagious infection... (*then I start freaking out,) because now there’s a possibility I could get this big bad flu... despite knowing I can avoid, prepare, and boost my immune system and not get sick... but in the back of our minds we are so scared of catching the infection.

*Not a clear-cut or great metaphor or comparison with current iPads’ #bendgate declarations, but in regards to people being more worried, the comparison is almost there. lol

I am a broken record, but I absolutely recommend everybody watch this video (*skip to the 5:37 mark.)
The Pro 9.7” and 10.5” are just as pliable and bendable as the 2018 versions. Honestly watch this and you will see the #bendgate issue is ridiculous, *I highly suggest you not to let irrational people and these stupid and fake “real-world tests” dictate your decision on trying out or getting the new iPads. :)

Seriously I’ve been dealing with silly stuff. Like blacklisted IMEI’s, luckily I got it all worked out. Id take the bending any-day..So much easier to deal with haha.
