Why would a product insurance company (apple care, ect) cover a device that could fail do to the fragile nature of it’s construction? Makes no sense. I hope that there will be sturdy cases availible when the new one comes out next month.

Hmmmm... I know it’s too early to say but I wonder if it will bend the same as the 3rd Gen? Anyone know if the bending was more prominent on 11” or 12.9” models? Refurb 3rd Gen 64GB for $899 vs new one 128GB for $1299 (CAD)... hmmmm,

All bending info up to now is anecdotal. I’m still surprised that no one has done a test of exactly where the failure point is... what amount of pressure is required to permanently deform it.

Purchased a 3rd Gen refurb for $899... with the longer return window hopefully I get comfortable with the device and see if it exhibits any bending from normal use.

Long post, and I in no way am saying or inferring anyone with bent or problematic iPads are liars.
I just want to finally show that this whole #bendgate is way way overblown.

That's great and all, but it's about UNRESPONSIVE SCREENS, whether the iPad is bent or not. So focusing on physical deformity really is missing the point. At least that's my primary complaint...

Yeah, your’s... not many others.
I’ve heard complaints of bending iPads not unresponsive screens.

Really? I've experienced that as well and there are a lot of threads here about it:

im curious if the new magic keyboard adds any ruggedness to help prevent bending

The previous case didn’t look as if would offer any structural protection and the new one looks about as bad in that regard. The iPad is lying on top of a magnetic sheet with 5 sides exposed.

I'd say no, just by seeing not its being used and/or holds the tablet. There's really little structure to the keyboard that would help - I'm just guessing, and I'm not a structural engineer ;)

I am sure some Youtuber is bending a new Ipad Pro now. Ouch!11. Is it possible that Apple would produce a new model and not fix this bending issue?

Is it possible that it’s not really an issue to be fixed? They really don‘t bend from normal use.
