why does the OP seem so sure that iPad revB will be out later in the year? does this OP have any knowledge of supply side economics? lets be real here...

I don't think they will bump much because they aren't even done with the worldwide launch yet.
I could be totally wrong of course.... but with the multi-phase rollouts they are doing it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.
I'm hoping that we just see a few cool dock accessories announced with 4 at the ipod event in September.

iOS 4 doesn't need 512mb to work as it should. The next iPad will probably get spec bumped to match the iPhone but it doesn't NEED it so no need for a September bump, doubly so as it's only launching in some countries in July (or later).
Frankly after testing an iPhone 4 and third gen iPod touch I don't think there's much real difference between 256 and 512 anyway. It's more future proofing and extra headroom for the additional background tasks the iPhone runs than other iDevices.

Other than a unified inbox theree is nothing in ios4 that would make me want to upgrade anyway that i don't already have through jailbreak. Installed ios4 on my 3G and i prefer backgrounder and circuitous to apples multitasking solution any day. Of course I could be bitter because things are automatically backgrounded on ios4 in spite of whether I want then to be or not causing the whole phone to come to a crawl until I manually go back and close everything. And closing everything takes way longer than it does with circuitous. Apples ui for multitasking is a huge fail IMO

The Mac mini uses a mobile 25w CPU, in fact the MacBook Pro uses a hotter 35w CPU.
The answer is no because that will tick off too many people Apple is still rolling out ipad on other countries, too. If they announce ipad 2 by this fall, then most people will be mad at apple. However, it is possible that apple will reduce the price on ipad by 100 dollars to attract even more customers. Apple might get rid of wi-fi version and just make 3G+Wifi version for the same price of wi-fi model. That is my guess. Ipad update will not happen this year, period. But, Apple will most likely announce ipad in next january and update it by Feb/March.
My more spiteful side hopes that Apple names the 2nd generation iPad "iPad 256" - not for 256 gb of storage, but for 256 mb of memory.

errr, the iphone didn't get 3G until a year after launch. not 6 months. you're think of a capacity upgrade there buddy.
There's no way the iPad will be upgraded that fast. Period. There's still a two week backlog on online orders...that is, they can't even keep up with demand on the current spec iPad.

And if they keep that schedule why would anyone buy one at Christmas ?
Either they will change the cycle earlier or later , doubt it will remain the same.

Hang on a minute! Did you actually read the post? I wasn't whining. And I think I did 'profer' a decent question - will Apple adopt a similar update strategy to the iPad that they used for the early iPhone.
Same to you - when did I say I was sure? So yes, lets be real here! I was asking about the potential iPad update strategy - not stating any fact.
