Awesome, mine must be on that Louisville-Chicago flight, just changed at 4:57am to Departure Scan.. getting giddy here now too!
 
Mine just left Louisville early this morning, too. Heading for Mass. I'm getting a little worried that it'll get here today. Are people thinking this Saturday delivery thing is still good?

I think we're all for it, but the biggest complaint for me anyway would be the awful (borderline god-awful) timely tracking updates from the time it left China all the way to Kentucky. Some of us were in Korea (in theory) longer than we wanted. Kim Jong Ill says "hi".

Man... I was worried about this. Still stuck in Kentucky, and... I'm not sure how it possibly gets to Green Bay, WI in time for delivery... here's hoping UPS has some tricks up their sleeves.
 
Heh, I quickly found the flight from KY to Lansing (where I live, or near enough) and looks it'll get here at about 6am... noted that it's about an hour behind the 7 day average. Think UPS is busy tonight? :p

That doesn't mean anything. The way the scan data moves through the UPS system, you can receive your package before any tracking data has been entered at all. I have personally received products from Hong Kong via UPS where the only scan was the information received, until after delivery, they it was all there.

People working at UPS have reaffirmed just this sort of behavior.

Don't sweat the tracking info! Apple has special arrangements with UPS, this isn't some podunk company shipping 150k items at their local FedExKinkos or something. It's been planned weeks ahead of time and there are many "government-like" aspects to the system (like, the way customs registrations will delay tracking data, even though the package is still moving through the distribution network)

Everything worked out great last year for the iPhone 3G S, so I see no reason to worry this year. The only real question is whether you actually get Saturday delivery in your area :)

That goes to Milwaukee....due to take off in about 15 minutes. They would then send it by truck to Green Bay.

Unless they send out multiple waves of delivery vehicles in the morning that'd be cutting it close. Set to arrive at 5:56am, and its' a two hour drive. I thought trucks generally left at 7:00am, but I suppose maybe they'd hold it/ there'd be multiple waves.

Hello,
My iPad arrived in Pittsburgh around 5:30 A.M. and has a 2 1/2 hour drive to my local sorting facility. How long does it usually take to get from the plane to the truck to leave Pittsburgh and do you think it will make it up here fast enough to get on the delivery trucks? I'm in a rural area, so I don't think the delivery trucks go out until later in the morning.

I'm in the same boat essentially. I'm on this flight http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS542 which is due to land at about 6, but it's a 2 hour drive from there to my city (and that's assuming it instantly comes off the plane in a truck headed straight here).

Yesterday, UPS was talking a big game about getting all these iPads to where they needed to be for saturday delivery so... I'm hoping they are holding delivery trucks, or will release multiple waves.

Should get through within 45minutes, I would think. Sound like it's plenty of time to make it out on the trucks.

UPS 3892 is heading to Denver, then Las Vegas. Scheduled to arrive at LAS around 6:19AM, so still close. My tracking departure from Louisville was a few minutes before the Denver flight left.
