They don't accept tips. Plus, they didn't do anything to deserve it. The delivered your package. Nothing above and beyond there.
It's not like they will come in to your house, unbox it and set up your email for you.
That's tip worthy.![]()

KY is the firs stop from China, that is their customers clearing house.
The Louisville KY information is an internal update for customs documentation. They are awaiting customs documentation for the shipment in CN, as they won't ship the iPads from there without this information.
I'm sure they'll be in the US before the weekend, probably tomorrow or Thursday @ the latest.
Currently the iPads are still in China.
Anyone have thoughts on why some orders already have tracking numbers and folks like me in California who ordered 5 minutes after preorders opened are still in a prepared for shipping status?
Is it possible that people on the East Coast and Mid West need to get their shipments out earlier than people on the West Coast?
Im just curious if anyone in California has a tracking number![]()
My tracking number updated today with the "internal UPS activity" like a lot of people's, but at the top I see the status has "Exception" next to it and a note that says an unforeseen event could delay my shipment.
Anyone else seeing this? If I don't get this on Saturday after ordering within moments of it being available, I am going to be PISSED.
No, usually they will go through Anchorage, Alaska, not directly from China to Louisville. Someone mentioned the "UPS Internal Activity" is a paperwork request. Maybe something to do with Apple asking them to hold all of the deliveries until Saturday.

no ones is in the US now...thats an internal notice asking for paperwork from Apple by Louisvilles hub...
This is right. For the 3GS launch, Apple already had supplies of the phones in the US. People got late delivery notices and still received their phones on launch day because a supply had already been state-side ready for next-day delivery. At least that's what my fuzzy memory is telling me.For the 3GS launch, half the people had theirs shipped at the beginning of the week bumy UPS like these people so far half...the other half had theirs shipped overnight by FedEx from warehouses within the United States....
So this launch is maybe being done similarly...I'm willing to bet a lot of people will get tracking info as late as Friday if they are going half China/ half domestic like they did last time.
Why do you say that. My UPS guy will deliver to the back door to make sure my package is safe. He would not take a tip but some of these drivers are really nice people!
Nope, it seems perfectly in line with past Apple launch shipping events.I got my shipping email more than 24 hours ago, and it's showing the KY entry now.
But my friend ordered later in the initial pre-order day, and still has yet to receive any email about his shipping. Does this seem really weird at this point?
It would be a very strange practice to tip a UPS driver. Very strange indeed.I didn't say they weren't nice people...I actually know several UPS guys and my wife is a pharma rep so they come nearly everyday, I'm just saying that what they are doing is in line with their normal job duties.
Since when did being nice qualify for a tip?
