Albany is a nice area. I'm in the outskirts near Guilderland. 75-degrees and sunny today. Doesn't get much better than this!

delivery misinformation
2pm here in Westchester County New York. Still no ipad. Tracking says it left Jamaica new york at 7am this morning. only 40 minutes away from my station. Apple said it was supposed to come today and no email came to inform me of no Sat. Delivery. Two UPS folks said it had no special delivery instructions, and therefore would not come till Monday. One supervisor, however, said, that it might come today if apple said it would. My local hub supposed to receive it made no scans today. UPS seems to have no idea where packages are....why did Apple use them and not FEDEX? Their tracking is bad and their lack of understanding of their own facilities and rules are astounding. But then, as I am writing this....alas...can it be.....ahhh....aahhhhhhh...yes, here it is!!!!! ARASHGADKKD!!!!

no saturday delivery -- UPS
When did Apple change the shipping from FedEx to UPS? I remember while ordering the rep said the ipad would be delivered by FedEx.
For no Sat delivery destinations did anyone get it?
Called UPS - says that the package is marked for Sat delivery and will be delivered by 7pm. So the wait goes on...

I spoke with a UPS supervisor who has been trying to reach one of the district locations here for the past hour +. Don't know if others in the Boston area experienced the fake delivery attempt so the driver didn't have to bother to actually drive it over but looks like earliest possible delivery for me would be Monday.
I therefore deployed Plan B - walked down the street to Best Buy and immediately (no line) picked up a 64GB version.
Due to their ineptitude, UPS can keep the pre-order now. Apple's getting it back.

UPS Sucks iBalls...
It's 2:15 and no iPad. I am so pissed at UPS right now. Called them to see whether I was in the Saturday delivery area and they said "yes" but that I wasn't getting my iPad today.
I asked why and they gave me some story about how Apple provided them with two internal reference codes (one for iPads to be delivered Saturday, one for iPads to be delivered Monday by 5 pm) and I had the code for Monday at 5 PM.
Bull *hit.
I call up Apple and verified that I was supposed to get my iPad today. The supervisor even called UPS to see what the story was and she was told that it wasn't even at the sorting facility in my area yet and it wouldn't be delivered until Monday at 5 PM. No other explanation.
GRRRRRR! This is the last time I use UPS for anything. They have screwed me over time and time again (two lost packages in the last three months, and one delivery that was made 8 days after it was supposed to be delivered).

I'm getting Apple Fever. Been up for 5 hours, waiting for the delivery. Nothing. Tempted to go to BestBuy and see what's up there yet not willing to leave my house in fear of missing delivery. Ugh. I hate Apple Fever.

I think this is as far as it will get until Monday. I can't see UPS sending someone 3 hours down Highway 395 on a holiday weekend.

I'm in North Torrance near the golf course, it's actually just a couple miles to the UPS station I wish I could have just picked it up there. Hopefully they didn't run down south first.
P.S. Can we also have a rule that no other cars are allowed to drive during Apple delivery windows? I keep getting faked out by large cars/trucks driving by!!!

I heard the UPS truck, and walked outside to meet the driver.
He laughed when he handed me the package, and said, "Today, everyone has walked out to meet me. I'm not sure what's in these little boxes, but they must be really important."
My UPS Tracking report changed from "Destination Scan: East Boston" to Delivered about 10 minutes later.
I've got ~20gb of music, and ~40gb of photos and video syncing right now.

Me too. In retrospect I probably should have just went with the reservation and gone to the store, at least I would have been doing something and felt proactive. AND I could kind of control and plan the rest of the day. This waiting around for UPS is stupid, and I should have known better since I did the same thing with the 3GS.
