I'm guessing they're going from west to east. A friend of mine hasn't gotten his shipping confirm, he's in Manhattan, along with me, both of our orders are on "Prepared fro shipment" status. So just calm down, I guess UPS and Apple have an exclusive deal... Or something like that.

im from connecticut. and my tracker saying it is landed already in KY

I'm in Cincinnati, OH. I ordered on March 23rd and yesterday my order for a 32GB Wifi was changed to Prepared for shipment then today about an hour ago I got an email saying that it shipped.

Ordered my 32GB Wifi on 3-19 at around 8PM or so and just received my tracking # around 1PM Central Time. Origin Scan in Shenzhen, CH as of now.
I live in Beaumont, TX which is about an hour east of Houston.

I'm just outside of Atlanta, ordered about an hour into orders on the first day, and I've had my tracking number since early yesterday. Right now it's showing the "internal activity" Kentucky deal.

Excuse me, but weren't you the THREAD STARTER?

To inform people that Apple have started sending out tracking numbers and shipping out iPads. Not to have people calling UPS/Apple every hour whining about not getting their stuff on time or their status isn't updated or so on. There's a difference.

"that Apple has started . . . "

Does anyone else have a

GUANGZHOU, CN 03/30/2010 9:10 P.M. EXPORT SCAN

I see lots of departure scans etc. out of Guangzhou....but no export scans...what is that exactly - and why would mine be different from others?

Ordered march 12th and in manhattan if it matters.

Well, I think the internal activity is . . .
UPS employees opening up the boxes and playing with them ;)

That's probably the package equivalent of getting pulled out of the security line at the airport. The Chinese TSA will probably tear open the iPad box, scatter the contents on the floor, and then have to call in their supervisors because they don't know what it is. Most likely this will end with the unfortunate iPad being blown up on the tarmac.

Sorry....

So, I was freaking out a bit when I saw my UPS Tracking information today. Mine shipped this morning, but now I have this:

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 03/30/2010 1:27 P.M. SHIPMENT IS HELD TO VERIFY COMMODITY DESCRIPTION WITH THE CUSTOMER FOR CORRECT CLASSIFICATION

But, after reading this thread, it seems to be what is happening, so I've calmed down... well, at least as much as I can while waiting for my iPad! =)

notice how it says 1 day left.

but my counter says 3 days.

they most likely will hold it

how are you guys finding out which plane you device is on or maybe on?
FlightAware.com is a great website for flight tracking.

UPS probably doesn't have too many flights per day from China to the US. So it's probably limited to one or two flights.

It also may be this flight:

It's probably flight 31 though. My tracking says it's in Shenzhen now. I believe that's closer to Guangzhou than Shanghai.

This link will show you all airborne UPS planes:

FlightAware also has a great free app for flight tracking.

I don't know if this is bad or good but mine is still stuck at "Prepared for shipment". I figured it would have had a tracking number by now unless there is a delay in updating the sipping info
