I just checked my tracking number again and I see this status now:

BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE

it means nothing to me nor am I worried. Its just fun to post as we wait for April 3rd.

Looks like mine was just released and UPS also says it has a commit date for thursday morning: BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE

This may have some credence if the "Apple withheld customs info to ensure no early deliveries" rumor.

Basically that is saying that UPS has cleared the packages on the pallet through customs (the brokerage) however, for whatever reason, has turned it over to another broker or another department (maybe to be specially handled?) before it can proceed.

We will see as the "mystery" unfolds during these next few days :)

read that boygenius report...man is apple evil:p I guess they are rather crafty when it comes to releases huh?

OOooo yea, BGR is on to something there.

Because most of these packages lack ANY information - destination or otherwise, and it would make complete sense for Apple to be withholding that info from being cleared through those packages (and customs).

Thanks for reminding me to read it haha, got pushed off the page by new posts xD

My shipping info has also updated with the "BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE"

Wheeeee! Getting closer every second! =D

I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment... but maybe Apple is concerned that (some) iPads will be delivered earlier than Saturday?

Maybe, but very doubtful in my mind... while I would love to have one of the God tablets (lol) in my hands right now, I think this might be so that people will have the update BEFORE they get the iPad. This way people won't have to worry about updating AND syncing on Saturday, and rather it is just that "seamless and magical" experience :)

BTW: There is another UPS flight leaving tonight at 6:41 PM ET and arriving in Anchorage at 4:01 AM ET Wednesday morning. UPS23

They just did it so that we could be ready for our ipads when they arrive. they did the same thing with the app store.

Yeah, I'd say Apple just did this so that people could start downloading it now, and spread out the traffic on their servers between now and Saturday, so that they don't get hammered this weekend as they would if they released the updated iTunes on the same day as the iPad itself. I think they've learned their lesson on that one.

anybody find it interesting that it does not state on the tracking page, the estimated date of delivery? I know it is Apr 3, but for those people saying UPS says it will deliver tomorrow, no where does it say that either.

Is it due to the hold on delivery date until 4/3 that there is not delivery date shown? In my past experiences, there usually is a ETA on packages.

This is exciting though! All the waiting and we are almost to launch day. Imagine the parcel folks handling all this precious Apple cargo. I wonder if they know what they are handling?

Please pray that the flights out of China don't go "Cast Away" on us, a la Tom Hanks.

Anybody seen anything official on why Apple is doing this with UPS instead of Fed Ex? Just rumors I've seen that UPS must have outbid Fed Ex.

Local Dispatch

Hey everybody, I can't seem to find this information out, how do I find the number for my local UPS dispatcher? I only want to know just in case I need to call it on Saturday.

If the rumor is to be believed, and more than likely true, Apple is not using WorldEase and is instead withholding customs info to hold back the earlier shipments.

Usually you cannot gain access to it. They are unlisted and will only be "given" to you if there is a problem UPS Agents at their call centers can't handle, and send a request to have your local hub call you.

I have my local one for that reason, and I now am pretty good friends with my hub's manager as well as the regional manager :)

And dont worry about your package!!!!! It WILL BE THERE! (So long as you normally have UPS Saturday delivery in your area). And if there is a problem, calling 1-800-PICK-UPS will help (and they will give you to local if they have to).

It's on it's way. :D
