That screams the typical "go-along-with" post. ^

Can you screenshot it? I am never afraid to admit being wrong.

To the post below me... VERY NICE!
apologies brock... still doesn't mean you still weren't just going with it though :p

I'm NOT going along with it:
PROOF!

Have all the notifications been for the 16GB model ?

That looks to be the case. It would stand to reason that if you have 3 sizes or capacity of a device, that the middle size would be the most popular. So it's possible that perhaps fewer people ordered the 16 GB model, so those could go out first as the demand may be somewhat less.

It also could be that Apple is forwarding order information to UPS now, but they aren't actually in UPS' hands...

Even MORE bad news for you! :)

That's right, Apple is probably doing the electronic shipment labels, but UPS usually pick them up the next day, so most of the time electronic shipment can be considered as shipped from the store. Man, I would love to see the statistics from UPS just for the iPad.

This is on the front page now.

They'll still hold it...but I'm getting so excited!

Well the note does say "Your order has shipped". Does it always say that, even before they send it out?

Once the tracking number is transmitted from UPS to Apple, Apple reports the shipment as shipped even though it may not have been physically picked up by UPS yet.

16GB ordered 5:32 and still haven't received notification and the apple store order status page still says "Prepared for Shipment" so not all 16GB orders have received this notification

Another data point -

Just received the shipment notification email (32GB iPad). Order placed 0537 PST 3/12. It'll be shipped UPS - says "delivers by 4/3", but I imagine they'll hold it until then.

WOOT!

Nope, Apple uses everybody to get the job done. I remember DHL as well from Apple.

Strange . . . everything I've ever ordered from Apple has always come via Fed Ex . . . UPS sucks BIG TIME

UPS? Say it aint' so

I wonder if people receiving their notifications tonight are for the ones that are getting their iPad via UPS, and they will still utilize other company's such as FedEx and possibly DHL and those individuals will get their notifications a bit later?

Now I get it!
If yours is coming via UPS you're one of the first to get a tracking number. If it's coming via Fed Ex, your tracking number will come later. Notice that no one, so far, has said "I got my tracking number and it's being shipped by Fed Ex"

Okay, maybe wishful thinking but UPS won't deliver till late in the evening (where I live) IF they do indeed deliver instead of running off with the package as they often do. I've ALWAYS had problems getting packages from UPS.
UPS = United Parcel Sucks
