For orders made AFTER last Friday. Did your local news mention that part? Or did they imply there was an overall project shipping delay? If not you should email them and request they research a subject before reporting on it.

iPad shipped, Apple just sent out tracking numbers!

In other news, I'm still only Prepared for shipment. 8:31EST order, East Coast. NC, to be specific. I wonder if they'll utilize FedEx for some of us. It's definitely the obvious choice for Sat delivery here.
Just woke up to see my email waiting for me on my phone. So happy! 32gig wifi. Shipping with ups as well bleh! I do believe ups has them in hand because of my tracking info.

I just got my shipping notification showing tracking via UPS from China but called UPS to confirm about Saturday delivery and they said with customs and all of that it will not deliver till 4/5???? NOOOOOOOOOOO
Can someone please calm me down before I pass out...why would they say guranteed 4/3 delivery and then this happens?

it should give you tracking info soon...but they are shipping via UPS from China...UPS told me the service is Expedited...but when customs gets involved...it delays things.
Because that Customer Service agent is NOT Apple's UPS Business Account Rep and doesn't know squat about what agreements/arrangements APPLE has in place.
UPS isn't going to screw this up since there is some reason they got this contract instead of FedEx.
Im on with Apple costomer service now and they are shocked I got this info....I think UPS is dead wrong on this I hope...they told me they never get delivery tracking estimates wrong...sure they dont!
okay spoke with Apple and they said UPS has no idea what they are talking about. Apple made an agreement with UPS to have these things delivered by April 3rd and it is too soon to tell when this will deliver and they should not be telling any customers this is delayed and delivering later. Once this hits the states, it will move like wildfire.
Figured UPS was wrong...why would they not use Fedex...?? They are more reliable..
In Cali, Ordered mine several days later. 32GB. Still not yet shipped.
I think its likely due to being on the West Coast, or in your case, midwest.
Nah, I think there is no pattern yet. A friend of mine and I, in NC, ordered in the first 10 mins and we're still at Prepared.
I"m normally in the same boat.... but i have a really bad feeling about my FedEx package sitting at the depot right now. This will be my 2nd bad dream with an overnight if they give it to another courier like 2 weeks ago.
My driver is normally HERE in the next 15 minutes, and this hasn't even been scanned onto his truck.... last time it never was.

on the CS side - FedEx fixed their screwup with 15 minutes to spare last time, i just don't want to have to do that again.

This is exactly how the iPhone 3GS went, too... can't remember if it was Saturday delivery or not, but I remember getting tracking info and it being UPS and coming straight from Shanzen (or whatever) - it initially looked like they were going to be a couple of days early, then they got held in Memphis, and went out overnight on Friday afternoon for Saturday delivery. It was all good. Delivered on time. So, this afternoon, when shipping info updates, and we see Thursday or Friday delivery, don't hold your breath. They're going to be held at Memphis.
That said, someone figured out how to track the planes last time - who's got the hook-up on that?

guys, do not hope for earlier deliveries.. UPS is really good on keeping package. i bet our ipad will be in near UPS headquarters maybe thursday then they will attempt to deliver on SAT for sure.

I ordered my 64gig at 8:44am on 3/12 and it still says 'Prepared for Shipment'. NYC here. I HATE UPS. They lose everything.
