All of you who have an iPad on a plane have nothing to worry about. It is the people like myself who only have billing info received that have real cause for worrying.

The only activity we have seen is a change from our original bill date to a later date.

Yes/ :'(

For those who have just 'billing info received'

That is what I expect you will see tomorrow as pallets are broken down, your delivery will suddenly originate in Kentucky.

She did tell me that if Apple did not feel it could be delivered by April 3 based on my area then I would have receieved email or communication (seem slike a forum member experienced just this).

Does anywhere in Southern California get Saturday delivery from UPS? I have not received the Apple email, but I'm know UPS doesn't deliver to where I live on Saturdays. Do those of you who got the bad news emails from Apple normally get UPS deliveries on Saturdays? Maybe they didn't bother to send the emails to people who weren't expecting their iPads on the 3rd?

Where in SoCal are ya?

In transit to Guangzhou

Mine is still in transit to Guangzhou like a few others. I have saturday delivery here, and I called UPS and they said it should be here on the 3rd. Is anyone else in transit to Guangzhou from Check Lap Kok? I'm not the only one stressing my iPad get's on this plane tonight? I need this thing Saturday. I'm leaving for a week on Monday. Come on UPS, move, move, move!

I'm not sure where you are in SoCal, but I'm in San Diego. I messaged a couple UPS guys on Twitter. Here are the responses I got from them.

@MikeAtUPS
If you're in the city itself, you will most certainly see your iPad on Saturday.

I've spoken to Apple, UPS, and UPS's International office (since this is considered an international package from China). They all agree that I'm screwed. I've tried everything I could think of. The bottom line is, unlike FedEx Home Delivery, UPS won't deliver to my house on Saturday. Period. Of course, they absolutely cannot allow me to pick it up tomorrow. My distribution center is not open for pick ups on Saturdays and even if they were they are not allowed to release the package until after the first delivery attempt is made. Unfortunately, for me that is Monday.

So, the only thing left that I can think of is to go to an Apple Store at 2PM and hope to get one that somebody reserved but didn't pickup.

Then, to top off this horrible surprise, I just watched Modern Family. Surreal.

Best thing to do is call 18007827892 ( UPS Support for International Packages) .That is the international number. Make sure you select #2 at the prompt for international and call them. They would be able to tell you. They have made special arrangements with Apple to get these things out.

That was an ingenious approach. Very creative to use Twitter like that!

At this point I dont care where it is as long as I get it by Saturday.

Its too confusing, im one of the ipad's on the current shipment from check lak kok or whatever its called. But i go to multiple tracking services and it says its on a flight to Louisville or it was its shipped from Louisville to my current town.

Idk what to believe anymore

I fully expect your on UPS 21, if so, you will get your AK scan at around 2:00 Eastern time

UPS Flight43

So does anyone know if the UPS Flight 43 left Korea? How can it leave Korea at a little after 1am and arrive in Anchorage around 1am when it's just after Noon in Korea now and it's only about an 8 hour flight? It should have been in Anchorage hours ago.

Just to review, here are what we suspect (given a buncha wild guesses and assumptions, proven to be correct almost 10% of the time)

If you have
DEPARTURE SCAN CHEK LAP KOK, HK
Within the last couple line items of your tracking detail.....

You should be aboard UPS 21,
UPS21

If you have
AIR TRANSIT SCAN INCHEON, KR

you should be aboard UPS 43
UPS 43
(this plane has no departure data received yet, but should arrive in AK around 5 eastern

My guess is that most people will see their iPads at or near their local UPS shipping facility tomorrow.

Hmm, I'm gonna call them up and see if I can pick it up, they're known for crappy service, and bad employees, so I guess they wont give a frack and give it to me.

Thanks, I'll be checking! Hopefully I don't have to wait until tomorrow to get it on a plane. Fingers crossed :)

I got the email as well its its complete BS.

I will stop at nothing to get my shipment on saterday. I dont care if I have to break into UPS. Im not sitting around until monday while everyone else get theirs saterday, its completely not fair to those that pre-order and were quoted the april 3rd ship, they should have either informed us at order time or set up some sort of way for us to pick them up on saterday.

Im thinking of ways I can get around this am already calling Apple and UPS and trying to get in touch with my local driver...anyone have any other ideas?

They did inform you at order time that some areas would have Monday delivery. How can you fault Apple when you chose to take that risk?

Thanks, I was getting nervous. I really wish they would just take mine off the plane once it lands here rather than sending it to KY to just turn around and send it back here to Alaska. Oh well....
