iPad shipping waiting period UK

Hiya Matt, As an example I ordered mine last thursday evening and it turned up yesterday afternoon, because you ordered after 12pm which is there cut off for 3 day delivery, yours will be 4 day delivery, so I'm guessing Friday at the earliest or maybe Monday at the latest , hope that helps

On average its taken 4 days if you dont count weekends
 
don't trust the PCWorld stock availability checker completely. Was in Reading on Sunday. website said no stock in the central store. had to go into town for some other shopping anyway still popped in to PCW, asked about stock they had 4 units in stock afterall, picked up a 32GB wifi there and then.

waiting time...not much :)
 
PC World v Apple Brent Cross

Does anyone have experience of ordering one from Apple Brent Cross or do they not have any in stock (14/07/10)?
Can one order online to pick up at the store?
 
I have it!! Arrived at 4pm but was out of office so went back tonight to collect and am now setting it up. Looks beautiful :D Back later.........

Good for you! Enjoy it, I ordered mine on the 10th, but from Apple and I have to wait untill the 28th; now I wish I ordered it from PC World.

Why don't you? If you order from PCWorld (if they have model you want in stock) and don't want it you can return (even to a store). You can (depending on your finances I suppose) order another via PCW and cancel the Apple order if the PCW one arrives first.

I have so many photos (4500!) that I am still syncing nearly 2 hours later!! Now I wish syncing would hurry up!!

I may do that; however, first I'll call Apple, in the morning (10:55 here in the UK) and check with them about my iPad (still says: not yet shipped).

I still need to go to my local Apple store to buy a case.

I know what you mean about the long syncing times, all we need to wait for is Apple to implement USB 3.0 in the mac and the USB connectors.
 
Eventually finished syncing at about 10.30pm ..... I really need to sort my photos into better order and into albums and delete loads of work photos!!!

Movies look amazing. Had an HD tv programme from itunes (Grey's Anantomy) and the picture is just jaw droppingly good! Also got a couple of movies I had ripped using handbrake and dropped into itunes - will be great for holidays / long haul flight.

About 60-70% full already so will need to trim my ipad music selection!

Now onto a case.......currently it is in a little Harvey Nicks carrier bag!
 
Do pc world email when the order gets shipped?still not getting any more info other that what I ordered.

Did nip into pc world near me as I was passing but they confirmed what their site stock
Says,that they did not have my model
In stock.

Fingers crossed for Monday then.

Yes - and you get a tracking number to track on DHL. Have you had the e-mail title 'We are processing your PC WORLD order PCW000000000' which says that they are preparing your order for delivery? If not they might be doing a security check which will hold up a little. Might be worth calling their call centre - am sure my call helped gee things along on Tuesday - I think I was stuck in their system after they did a random security check.

Yeah just got that call not too long ago.frustrating that my order was held up by that.hopefully
It will get shipped soon and to me by Monday.highly doubt it will be here tomorrow seeing as it's not shipped.but at least it is being processed.

You are exact same as me!

I ordered Friday morning, got the call on Saturday morning, about 10 mins later I got the e-mail confirming my order was being prepared for delivery, I expected a shipping e-mail on the Monday (in line with RaiSensei) but nothing so called on the Tuesday -was told my order was 'released' but not yet dispatched - they were a bit vague about what this meant. Lo and behold a short time after I got my dispatched e-mail (hence my feelings there was a glitch with my order on the system). It was collected by DHL same day (Tuesday) and delivered yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

Not super fast delivery but still in line PCW's 3 working days advertised (if you count from the security phonecall) and still beat Apple online store by miles. If they dispatch tonight you should get tomorrow but I suspect it may be tomorrow before they dispatch in which case you will get on Monday and I bet you want for the weekend to play with???

You could always call now and ask if it will get dispatched today?? ;)
 
Hey Guys,

I decided to buy an iPad towards the end of last month (mainly for Uni purposes such as note taking and the ability to use it on the move) and went into my local apple store in cardiff with the hopes there would be a 16gb wifi model in stock.
There wasn't so the guy told me the best way is to go on the priority list so i put my name down.

That was on the 29th and i've heard nothing since about it. So a couple of days ago i decided to put an order in through apple's online store and then either not pick up the one in store or cancel the online order if the store emailed me.

Reading this topic has made me question if i should just cancel the apple order as it says my likely delivery is the 29th (which means a whole month of just waiting for the iPad) and order online with pc world. I was wondering what your opinions are on this idea?

Needless to say im craving my new toy badly and waking up each morning to no email from apple store is only making it worse.

Another question is about the storage. I have quite an extensive music and film collection reaching about 160gb. Obviously I dont want to put it all on the iPad but reading around i'm just worried after i get the apps i want and put my favourite songs and a few films the 16gb is not gonna cover it. So my question is should I go for the 32gb wi-fi instead as my budget cannot afford anything over £500?

I'm hoping to purchase a 3G 32GB iPad.. and I'd need it delivered BEFORE 29th July, as I'm going on holiday for a month.

PCWorld says available for home delivery, but god knows if that means straight away.

One store (15 miles away) has them in stock, don't know if phone calls should be made to verify every store though just incase?

ordered same model at 1305 on Monday, recvd yesterday at 0910 via DHL.

YEAH but No but - PCW do have a premium service for timed slots including Saturdays but this option wasnt available when I ordered (it said specifically that it wasnt at the top of the screen) so assume they don't offer on ipads.

I would say roll on Monday but really the weekend hasnt even started for me!
 
I have been waiting 7 days for my iPad to change status on the Apple site and then there's *you* getting it a few days after ordering it from PC World - it's not fair - my birthday is in a few days and we are going on holiday 2 days after it supposedly ships.

You can't rely on an online checker. I got mine from Currys in Canary Wharf the checker said zero stock, the shop had about 50 in cupboards from a delivery that day.
 
Status changed to 'prepared for shipment' last night, this morning it has been shipped and I've recieved tracking information. It should be with me by Monday (two days before the estimated delivery date!). So looking forward to finally getting my hands on it!:D

BTW: What day did you order it?
 
ordered mine on the 3rd of July, so have had a pretty long wait myself. All I would suggest is to give Apple a ring and see what the hold up is. Hope it arrives before your holiday.
