Other iPhone 11 Pro Isn’t the Best Smartphone But...

If I’m honest with myself Samsung for instance is better than Apple at making smartphones. I even think the Pixel 4 is on par with the iPhone Pro. I can’t deny this.

But there’s one thing that Samsung and Google can’t beat Apple at. Apple’s hardware / software works almost flawlessly between together across all its products. The iPhone > Apple Watch > iPad integration blows Samsung / Android / Google away.

The Note 10 makes me want to ditch my 11 Pro but what about my usage of a smart watch and a tablet working together like how Apple does?

IMO, that right there makes Apple and the iPhone (all incarnations) superior to all other smartphones. Once you get fully integrated into the almost flawless ecosystem, there is no turning back.

I am solely as iPhone user and don't dabble with tablets and watches so this isn't from my personal experience, but a close friend uses the Note 10+, a Samsung watch, and an android tablet and he is more than satisfied in that ecosystem. He feels he has increased flexibility to make things work the way he wants. In some ways he would prefer the Apple Watch over the Samsung Watch, and I know he would prefer an iPad over whatever tablet he has, but his phone is priority number one and he feels the Note 10+ in conjunction with his usage preferences trumps all. So there's that, for what it is worth.

Best smart phone is ultimately subjective as it is about more than which has the best specs. But I agree that Apple has the most cohesive environment within its product line. Is there anyone even close?

I never tire of that little vibration from my watch telling me it unlocked my Mac mini for me. Too cool.

Well yea that’s my point. You need an iPhone to get the best out of the Apple Watch and visa versa even though the iPhone isn’t the best smartphone.

Who’s to say it isn’t the best smartphone? Two areas that Apple were behind which was battery and camera and now they are top of the pile

Software wise it’s head and shoulders above the comp and apps for me are better and updated all the time which is why it’s the complete phone

Could it do with spilt screen multitasking? Sure and a few other features but generally it isn’t missing much

Long term performance won’t suffer and why iPhones are what people buy

The key point to this entire thread is that it is based on your 'opinion'. To make a blanket statement that the iPhone is not the best smartphone and pass it off as a truth is just silly. For many here, the iPhone Pro is the best smartphone in their view and thus they have the absolute best in both the phone and watch in their eyes. And they have every right to believe that.

there is no major differences between 11 pro and a samsung s10, everything you can do on a iphone you can do on a s10 and vice versa. at this point its basically which interface you prefer. although iphone has less spec on ram capacity and what not, the ios render any disadvantage null. anyone who says otherwise is just nitpicking. honestly the only major difference is you can get a s10 for like 600 bucks or less now.
 
I went to a Note 10 plus for a few weeks. Great phone. Not going to lie the form factor is better IMHO than iPhone. iPhone hasn’t changed much.

But Apple wins for me due to its ecosystem and how ingrained I am in it and it’s software.

Samsung is a great product. But everyone on my family uses an iPhone. I love iMessage, FaceTime, etc. and while the iPhone may not have the form factor the Note 10 series does the iPhone is no slouch.

my Pro Max has been my favorite mobile device. I absolutely love it.

The "best smart phone" is largely subjective and a totally different discussion than how well Apple technologies work together.

I agree Apple Watch is best when paired with iPhone, but no, you do not need Apple Watch to get the "best" out of iPhone.

the iPhone 11 at 699 is a way better smartphone than the s10 in every department. Camera, battery, software updates, speakers, ecosystem, etc. objectively speaking

Great hardware? maybe the camera. I just recently sold my Note 10 Plus and switched to Apple for the first time. Reason being, very simply, the fingerprint scanner on the S10 and Note 10 is the worst piece of crap ever created! It works 1 out of 10 times and yes I have registered it more than 10 times properly at different angles. Worst is when I am in a rush to unlock my phone and keeps failing so I end up having to enter my passcode manually, makes me wanna break the damn thing! Oh and their face unlock is no better. This is one convenience that is priceless for me with the iPhone how can I just glance at it and it's already unlocked.

This coming from a hardcore Android phone who has just tried Apple products.

It seems like in an attempt to compete with, not only the iPhone, but all of the other companies that make popular Android smartphones, a lot of these companies rush to include as many features as they can and a bunch of them just end up half-baked and frustrating to even use.
 
I have an admittedly older S7 Edge, and it basically stopped working the other day and only a factory reset ("restore as new" in Apple speak) got it working again. Certain things are inexplicably slow, like using Google Maps. I will be back to iOS one of these days. Samsung's hardware is nice and flashy but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

google map is very cpu intensive, its unusable on my old iphone 6s as well.
