I have tons of android and all the iPhones. I’m phone junkie from first g1 to first nexus etc.

The best phone right now is the iPhone 11 6.1. I’m saying this as the owner of iPhone pro max 256gb. Price/performance/features. iPhone 11 6.1 is the best phone for 99% of the public.

Not the pro max. I got pro max for $450 off att retention. All cause I wanted the stupid oled screen

samsung phones are nice. But it’s still bloated. Owned s1 aka first 2010 galaxy. Owned galaxy nexus etc. s3. I owned s6 got 45 days. Resold it. Owned s7 for 60 days resold it Owned s8 for 8 days. Resold it. Flipped these phones on the black market.

Had free test run s10 for 12 days. Gave it back.

samsung need to remove the bloat.

I just got it today and I’m happy but Apple been increasing the size every year and I’m the type that hate big phones , I’m glad next year it’s smaller because this is so much different than the x

You could have got the 11 for $300 128GB on a 2 year contract from AT&T.

Consumer Reports and other reviews have the iPhone 11 Pro Max as the top phone not only because of the features but because of the stats and how well it runs on the ecosystem
However those that don’t need the ecosystem may find the Samsung Note 10+ Appealing for its design
There’s a big difference between ios13 And android which is also a user preference
Bottom line it comes down to User Preference

What is different to the X? Which model iPhone did you buy?

Yes. I know. I originally got the iPhone 11 128gb with $200 sams card launch day. Sold it to a friend for $600. Paid it off and unlocked it.

Called att and they gave me $450 off any iPhone. But the pro max gets hot. It’s known problem. The 6.1 iphone 11 doesn’t get hot. But kinda of stuck with it since I didn’t want to pay att restock fee. It’s ok. I can live with the pro max. We all know this phone needed more ram If we switching between camera app and other apps. If u really tax the phone it will get hot. Apple just assumes 99% of the public doesn’t over tax the phone.

You say it’s a known problem as if it’s an empirical fact, yet I can reproduce neither my Pro Max getting unusually hot, nor any issues with switching app’s, Camera included.

I’m not saying that these problems don’t exist, you’ve experienced them, so clearly they must.
All I’m saying is they aren’t ubiquitous. Well, either that or I’m one of the luckiest SOB’s when it comes to smartphones. It’s not even as if I’m a light user, I spend many hours a day using many apps, from the not very resource intensive, to ones which will really push my device.

Sure, when I first got it, the first couple of days it ran hotter than it normally would, while it indexed. And yes, when I’m using something which pushes the hardware, it can get slightly warm. But neither of those things are in any way unusual, in fact, I’d say they’re expected. Every smartphone I’ve ever owned, not just Apple, does that. Of course, to play devils advocate, I’d also have to say that perhaps every smartphone I’ve ever owned has been faulty, which is why I don’t think a little warmth is unusual. It’s definitely possible, anything is.

I agree with all that. My experience has been the same. I couldn’t have said it any better.

apple is a tech company. They won’t acknowledge widespread problems till they have to. while they acknowledge the antenna band fiasco in 2010 they never truly addressed the proximity sensor problem with their design. Which is a huge issue

They don’t publicly acknowledge white spots on iPad Pro 10.5 (which happened to many people) including me. Luckily I have apple care and was able to get it replaced for free. Others not as lucky. Apple knows it.

The over heating is something Apple will the to address I’m sure in future updates whether to throttle the processor to slow down the heating. Was at Halloween party Last night. Tons of people taking pics. Many with new iPhones. it’s just more than me complaining. People at the party said their phones got a lot hotter than they think for normal phone. If u take a lot of pics and carry phone naked or thin case. It’s noticeable and replicable in my case and others. Apple won’t do anything unless they have to.

and I’m not that picky. I don’t obsess and return phone after phone. switching the phone for another pro 11 max isn’t gonna to solve this problem. I will just live with it for one year. And either resell it or hand it down to my wife.

If I’m honest with myself Samsung for instance is better than Apple at making smartphones. I even think the Pixel 4 is on par with the iPhone Pro. I can’t deny this.

But there’s one thing that Samsung and Google can’t beat Apple at. Apple’s hardware / software works almost flawlessly between together across all its products. The iPhone > Apple Watch > iPad integration blows Samsung / Android / Google away.

The Note 10 makes me want to ditch my 11 Pro but what about my usage of a smart watch and a tablet working together like how Apple does?

"iPhone 11 Pro isn't (subjectively, and in my opinion) the best smartphone but..."

This probably would have been a better title.

Hardware wise the Samsung Note 10 blows the iPhone 11 pro out of the water, I was so impressed. I have been eye balling the samsung watches as I am getting bored of my apple watch edition although I love the white case. Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a new Omega watch as I was tempted to go back to traditional watches.

I like google apps, my company uses gmail and I think I prefer google photos to iphoto. I don't trust Apple anymore under Tim Cook; I think it's time to change!

If I’m not mistaken I didn’t think Samsung can come close to the iPhone / Apple Watch integration.

The note 10 + is a great phone, better than the 11 pro max but the Samsung watch pales in comparison to the Apple Watch.

Yea. That’s my take too. The iPhone Pro isn’t the best smartphone but...

What do you mean iPhone 11 Pro is not the best smartphone? It is the best smartphone currently. Samsung isn’t and never was better at making smartphones, in my opinion.

Does the 11 have RAM management issues with the lesser resolution but still 4gb?

Samsung’s software is terrible, I was a Sammy fan boy for many years and every single one I had got laggy and buggy. They add a lot of features but can’t execute the basics well

That is if you have a 2012 Samsung experience. Things have changed, the note 10 series and S10 series is EXCELLENT. Unless you’re bias or misinformed you cannot deny that.

I agree 100% and that's why I personally stayed iPhone so long but as mentioned I am going to go away from smart watches back to traditional luxury so I feel now it the time to try what is in my personal opinion a much better phone (Samsung Note 10+). I love the look of the galaxy watch as opposed to the apple watch and I never use any apps on my apple watch other than checking time and recording my workouts so I am not what you call the ideal apple watch user. I just find the screen is too small to do anything worthwhile and I have yet to be impressed by any apps currently on the apple store.

I do agree though integration is top notch.

Bahahahhahahahhaha the screen is too small on a watch? You want to wear a smartphone sized screen on your wrist? Oof 😅

At the end of the day amongst other reasons they still use the Android operating system and the Google Play store. Two reasons amongst many to stick to the iPhone. Besides in my opinion the iPhones are solidly built more so then the various Android phones including Samsung’s S10 models.

Also Touch ID and Face ID is much more refined on the iPhones. Granted brands like Samsung, One Plus, Google etc introduce new features before Apple but they’re often half baked and don’t work well. I prefer Apple’s philosophy of making sure the user experience is good before introducing new features.
