5.4 won’t have the same camera as the pro.
I guess Apple will appeal to market demand and some will care about the camera and some won’t. It’s a big camera module with an additional lens and fitting it within a smaller chassis would impact on battery life I would think. A dual lens camera will be sufficient much like the iPhone 11 has the same cameras as the 11 Pro now.

Except the 11 doesn’t have the same camera as the 11 pro now.
What camera does it have then?

The only thing we sort of know from Ming is that the 5.4" will have a dual camera instead of a triple camera, almost certainly due to physical size limitations.

In this article, the bullet pointed naming convention of 12 vs. 12 Pro seems purely like it came from the MR person who wrote the article, NOT Ming:

Far as I'm concerned, Ming has never said the 5.4" is a poverty spec/cheap phone, that blame goes to the person who wrote the MR article for assuming a naming convention.

Kuo didn't say it. But JPMorgan was the first to provide details on the 4 model lineup and indicated the 5.4” would be part of the lower-end pair of devices. Kuo's report followed JPMorgan. UBS has also said the 5.4" model would have 4GB RAM.

This shows how I personally don't care about the differences between Pro and non-Pro.
I don’t think there is much difference in actual use. Having seen many of the blind tests the difference between optical zoom on the Pro and digital zoom on the 11 are difficult to tell apart. The main cameras are also exactly the same.

Lol, digital zoom is terrible compared to optical zoom, rubbish you can’t tell them apart. Optical zoomed photos are crap even on a iPad to look at.
I know from photos I took on a xr.

It’s not my claim and logically I would agree that optical should be better. However it’s not true optical zoom even on the Pro as the higher end is digital due to the tiny lens these devices use and the fact the 2x zoom if digitally controlled between the focusing points. It’s controlled slightly better on the Pro but software uses pixel duplication and noise control to simulate any differences.

No point you are are only thinking with your wallet, wouldn’t matter how much the differences are.

I’ve explained my reasoning and how I understand the technology used. Don’t assume the motives of people you don’t know. Single sentence posts devoid of any explanation are practically useless in a discussion. Join in constructively, and make your point valid.

Sorry will have to decline, every time I get involved in a debate like this they get me banned.
Thanks anyway.

so all are getting OLED models, the price should stay the same since the Pro models will have newer screen technology

since the economy isnt doing well, price of iPhone 12 5.4" might be around $649 OR $699
