OLED is not a selling point for the iPhone, it has some distinct advantages over LCD, Consumers don’t care about OLED. The only advantage for Apple, is if they secure a similar price point that would cost to produce an Oled panel V.s LCD, and consolidating to one major Supplier.

must be.
they are getting a big cut in prices with the supplier that's why they are using OLED.

since the economy isnt doing well, price of iPhone 12 5.4" might be around $649 OR $699
I think this would've been the normal price regardless. XR was $749 and Apple lowered 11 price to $699 which gives us an idea what the price targets are for mainstream consumers.

iPhone 12 5.4": $600-700

iPhone 12 6.1": $700-800

iPhone 12 Pro 5.8/6.1": $1000

iPhone 12 Pro Max 6.5": $1100-1200

This is a given but that's pretty much across the board anyway.

I was only referring to Apple due to this thread but all markets are going to see a hit of some form when public expenditure is reduced due to job losses and uncertainty. At the moment I’m working and the company I work for is largely unaffected but if I were to lose my job I doubt I’d bother upgrading in September. There will be many in that situation.

The biggest loser in this will be the car industry.

The automobile industry has gotten away with overpricing their offerings for a long time. To make matters worse, the overall quality of cars is down too. Nissan's JATCO transmissions, Honda's engine dilution, Toyota's latest issues, Fiat-Chrysler's usual crap, Kia's massive recall?

Until they drop the prices on the damn things? They're going to struggle to sell more inventory. 0% financing only goes so far.

so without the bad economy we would have seen a big cut in price because from $749 to $699, maybe $649? what more with the bad economy?

this is a good strategy to keep sales moving, a lower priced phone sale is better than zero sale
the price drop is a good marketing move as well

it's not like it didnt happen with other entry level Apple products

they did it with Macbook Air, from $1199 to $1099 to this year $999.

Not really a big price cut. Just a return to two mainstream tiers:

4.7" iPhone 6: $649
5.5" iPhone 6+: $749

5.4" iPhone 12: ~$649
6.1" iPhone 12: ~$749

The current iPhone 11 is $699 (down from $749 XR in 2018). I don't think Apple would've reduced the price of the 11 if the XR had been selling as well as they wanted it to. With two tiers, they can increase 6.1" price back up to $749 and have an up-to-date device occupying the traditional $649 price point.

exactly, they will also do the same since the 11 is selling the best and it's not the first time Apple did it, again from the Macbook Air from $1199 to $1099 to $999 which was the return to the original price so they might do the same like you said for the iPhones from $749 to $699 to $649.

6.7 inch iPhone ain’t going to be cheap going off these leaks.

way smaller notch
Smart connecter
Smaller bezels
iPad Pro like design
Thinner body
Better antennas
Navy blue color 😍

Those that are interested in that phone will probably pay whatever premium it comes with though. The main demand will be for the 5.4” and 6.1” which will hopefully be a sensible price.

Looks like I might be one of the non sensible ones who goes for the 6.7 inch since I skipped the 11 series and kept my xs max 🤦‍♂️😂

Nice display pic by the way # YNWA 🏆

It looks like a stunning phone I have to say but I can’t see it coming out at Less than £1300.

I’m still on an 8+ but fancying the 6.1” 12 and hope that £749 rumoured price is correct.

Likewise in the display pic mate, let’s get that title! #YNWA

can see the 6.1 inch selling like hot cakes since the XR and iPhone 11 were the most popular phone this year.

hopefully the rumour that all 4 iPhones will have oled screens this year is true that‘ll be the icing on the cake.

I'm just hoping it starts at 128GB. That would be enough for me

they might even go all out with the 6.7 inch iPhone 12 Pro Max they know that those will buy it will not care about the price, even they have it at $1499

with smaller notch, thinner body, square frames and of course all the camera and processor improvements will surely like it.
[automerge]1587119537[/automerge]
5.4 $649
6.1 $749

6.1 $999
6.7 $1299-1499

Might want to double that price for us folks down under in Australia 😂

Looking forward to upgrading to the 6.7 inch from my xs max.

Hopefully the battery is as good as the 11 pro max.

bit concerning their making the phone thinner since their adding a power hungry 5g modem and a slightly bigger screen hopefully battery life is on par with last year pro max.

Would prefer same thickness as last year pro max and a bigger battery.

hopefully the rumor about the 15 percent more power efficient screen and processor are true which will result in great battery life.

exactly but on the video says that it will:

have a different layout, so it will have a larger battery even if the frame is thinner.

the 5nm will also give a big boost in battery life.

where have you read the 15% more power efficient screen?

I think this is pretty spot on and I’ll be getting 12 Pro 128GB, I’ve always had to get 256gb since they stopped 128gb and it’s just unnecessary for me asi only use 90gb.

Providing a range. This is for base models with lowest level storage only.

12 - 5.4”
699 - 799

12 - 6.1”
+100

12 Pro - 6.1”
999-1099

12 Pro - 6.7
+100/150

I expect 12 to come with 64 GB. Additional 100 for 256 GB. Or additional 50 for 128 GB and further additional 100 for 256 GB.

I expect Pro to come with 128 GB. Additional 100 for 256 GB. Additional 200/250 for 512 GB. And maybe a 1 TB option.

Read something about it a while back about a more efficient screen for this year iPhones could be a load of bull.

hope you’re right about the bigger battery and chipset playing a part in decent battery life. 🙏

from FrontPageTech video, his sources are reliable.

question is will the new iPhones get 120 hz refresh rates?

I’ll buy the 5.4” iPhone. Would probably have bought it even if it had been £999. But the reduced pricing makes it an INSTABUY for most everybody.
