Same problem here.
I have an iPhone 12 pro and a 2020 BMW X7. Having issues with the wireless charger working intermittently. However today I was driving and the phone was charging. I was using Waze. After about 30 minutes the phone shut down due to overheating. I did notice that the phone did charge from 61% to 63% in the 30 minute period.
I called Apple support. The woman was useless. She had me run a diagnostic report. Wants me to bring the phone in for service. I don’t think the magsafe charging system is going to be compatible to older chargers.
Can’t imagine it’s a software issue.
very disappointing.
I also have a X7 and I’m having the same issues with my iPhone 12. I had an iPhone 11 Pro Max before and it always charged fine.

Worked fine for a week until today. Now won’t wirelessly charge on two different Belkin chargers or my Satechi Quatro

I just tested on my original mophie 5w and it works but not on the 7.5w. I wonder if it is something that can be fixed with software. 14.2 b4

I had the same issue (I have nomad base pro station pro ) and I have contacted them and they said they did identify the issue and they are working on in update to fix the issue.

Just got done with a genius bar appointment. They had me reset my network settings, which they say reloads all the firmware, and now my chargers work. Will update if that changes.

I have a Mous Limitless 3.0 case (same model as I had for my iPhone XS) and have the same issues with intermittent charging on a wireless upright charger. I spoke to their support and they told me that the alignment of the coils is slightly different on the new iPhone 12 which means placement on the charging unit needs to be much more precise than before. I've tried and found that mine charges better if it's just off centre and sometimes I just need to slide it about a little until it finds the connection. I also tried the tip of shutting down and restarting the phone and that also helped so I suspect there are a couple of issues here not just one thing.

I found the solution. Qi charger works now on iPhone 12 / 12 PRO.
Watch this on YouTube. Thanks.

So my phone stopped working again with my wireless charging pads. Resetting the network settings only fixed it for a couple of days. I'm going to call Apple and request a new phone.

Same problem with iPhone 12 Pro. Worked fine on a Choetech 5-coil Qi Fast Wireless Charging Pad for 3 days, then stopped.

Forced restart has it working again.

On my mophie 7.5w with the 14.2GM I got my charging pad working with no other changes.

EDIT; I dont know what fixed it TBH. It just started working randomly without help. Seems like just a software bug still.

This didn’t work for me

Looks like 14.2 is dropping today. Any idea if this fixes wireless charging? I returned my 12 Pro so I can't check.

It does contain a wireless charging fix, whether it fixes all the issues remains to be seen.

It’s mentioned here.

Everyone here is talking about 3rd party wireless chargers not working for them, but my MagSafe charger stopped working after I installed 14.2 last night. I bought the charger on Monday and it worked like expected until today. It acknowledges that it’s connected but the numbers just keep declining. I eventually put it in airplane mode for an hour and it went up from 45 to 47 per cent. But that’s not feasible, I shouldn’t have to put it in airplane mode to get this to work. I have all Apple products. MagSafe charger, 20 watt Apple brick. Clear Apple MagSafe case. Wiped clean both the case and the charger and restarted the phone 3 times today. Still not charging.

I preordered my iPhone 12 Pro at 5:00 am on 10/16/20 and it was delivered 10/23/20. My Samsung Wireless (Qi) Fast Charger would not charge the phone. I've used this charger effectively with the Galaxy S8+, iPhone X, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 Pro. I was using a UAG Monarch Case, which I've also used on all of the above mentioned devices without any wireless charging issues. I tried without the case: it still would not charge the phone.

Long story short (not really), I am on my 2nd replacement iPhone 12 Pro (so 3 devices total), none of them work. I have tried 3 different cases (UAG Monarch, Tech21 Evo Check, Gear4 Battersea), none of them work. I've tried all 3 devices caseless and the problem persists. I've tried 4 different Qi wireless charging devices (Samsung Fast Wireless adjustable pad/stand, Tylt Crest Wireless Charger, Mophie Adjustable Wireless Charging Stand, Google Pixel Wireless Fast Charging Stand) and none of them work.

They all seem to charge for anywhere from a few minutes to a few seconds, before I get the blinking error light(s). I am at a complete loss as to whether-or-not this is a software issue or a hardware issue. Sometimes I lean towards hardware, as these morons put a bunch of magnets in the back of the phones...how could that not interfere with Qi Charging? I'm also on my 3rd device. But the "being on my 3rd device" element then leans me towards software. If it were a hardware issue, either everybody would have the same problem or it is relegated to specific batches of these phones. In that case, I find it hard to believe that all 3 of mine would have the same hardware issue if it's just specific to certain batches. I couldn't possibly be that unlucky.

Regardless, Apple better figure this out. These phones are too expensive and if this an intentional thing to get people to use their proprietary Magsafe chargers, I will happily go back to Samsung and tell these morons to shove their magnets up their...
