Magsafe with the 20W brick stopped working yesterday and my low wattage mophie quit as well. Time to get on support chat I guess.

Good luck with that. They've sent me 2 replacements now and when I talked with them yesterday, they want to connect me with tech support to go through the entire process of wiping the phone, resetting network settings, checking code logs (or whatever their jargon is), etc. I told them I'm not doing that again, brand new phones that haven't been activated aren't even wirelessly charging.

They just need to fix the issue. Rebuild the damned phones properly or fix the software if that's indeed the issue.

This is all just unacceptable.

I talked to four different Apple support employees before I ended up returning my 12 Pro. They were very dismissive of this issue. Apple doesn't appear to be taking this seriously.

They've taken it seriously when I've called and chatted with them no fewer than 10 times. A couple of weeks ago I got stuck on the phone with them for 2 hours and 26 minutes...talked to 8 different employees (including 2 senior advisors). The key is that you just don't take "no" for an answer. Raise your voice when it's necessary, make demands when they choose to be dismissive. Otherwise, they will just blow you off. I've learned the hard way with Apple.

They will fix this or they will have to keep dealing with me. That's my stance on this. Everybody needs to speak up and not softly. Praise the helpful, patient employees but let the others know where you stand.

Same issue here and some other user on the Polestar 2 in car wireless charger. iPhone X, XR and 11 worked without problem. The 12 Pro will start charging for a few seconds then stop and during driving will attempt again every so often. Disappointing and I think this is a hardware issue.

Got my 12 Pro Max today, charges for about 15 seconds then stops on the three wireless pads I've got. Tried Reset Network Settings and no joy. Apple's way of trying to get everyone to buy a Magsafe charger?

I have 3 different wireless chargers and all have positional issues with the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I have a wireless charger built into my Tesla Model 3. It works naked without a case but when I use a Nomad Rugged or Invisibleshield case it does’t work. The phone sits quite a bit higher with the case as the bottom of the charger has a lip on it and a naked phone slides under the lip but one with a case rests on top of the lip. The cases aren’t the slimmest either which doesn’t help.

I also have a third party wireless charger in the car which I use most of the most as it sits higher in the car and I use a sat nav on it. It also works naked, but not with a case. This is more important to me than the Tesla charger, so I’m going to try slimmer cases starting with an Apple leather case.

I have a Slicecharge pro wireless charger in the house. It doesn’t work vertically and only works reliably on the mat placed flat and in certain positions on the mat.

I’ve seen articles where people have changed the charging bricks, but in my case all the chargers have USB-C charging sources. It does look like the new iPhones have less tolerances for positioning with Qi charging.

I am having the same issue on my Xiaomi Qi chargers and the iPhone 12 pro. My workaround today has been to unplug the Qi charger for a few seconds and plug it back in, which seems to work at least temporarily.

Its weird, I have my old iPhone XR still. After the charger stops working on my 12 I swap the 10R on to the Qi pad, but the 10R also fails to charge. Its like the communication between the 12 and the pad results in the Qi pad getting bricked. So weird.
I have exactly the same Xiaomi wireless charger (3 of them), an iPhone XR, and iPhone 12 MINI and have exactly the same issue. The charger works fine with the XR, my Airpods, but the moment I place the mini there it just stops responding entirely.

As the Apple leather cases are thinner, I tried one of those. I wasn’t expecting it to work on the OEM Tesla charger, but the good news for me is the case works with the third party TopFit charger, so I’m happy.

I ordered my Nomad case a while back. If I’d known the Apple cases had gone back to having individual port cutouts on the bottom, I probably would have ordered the Apple one to start with. I used to use the Apple cases until they went to the large cutouts on the bottom some time ago.

Hi, all same issue....following for updates. How frustrating to have several wireless chargers and they do not work with the new phone....how did that happen?

Hi everyone. New here and have just rejoined the apple gang after leaving when iPhone 6 failed to float my boat.
Samsung now bores me so I’m back.

took delivery of a 12 pro a few weeks back and have housed in a mous limitless 3.0 case.
Using my Samsung Qi charger initially worked fine however after a few days I noticed the light was flashing.
It takes me a couple of attempts to line the phone up dead centre on the charging pad and it then works. I assumed it was the magnets in the mous case causing this. I didn’t even consider it could be the phone until I stumbled on this thread.

does anyone know if the 14.2 update fixes it? I’m reluctant to install this as I’ve read it causes issues with map directions

If it’s the magnets then it’s no dice. I’ve observed better luck without a case. In point official silicone case.

I picked up the iPhone 12 Pro yesterday, and I can't get wireless charging to work properly. I have two Qi charging pads, both from different manufactures, and the 12 pro will only charge from them if it's been freshly rebooted. If I take the phone off the pad, and then place it back on the pad, it will not charge again unless I reboot the phone. The pads charge my Xs and my Galaxy S9, so they're not the problem. Apple support was completely unhelpful. Anybody else having issues with wireless charging on the 12 pro?
Same issue on an iphone 12 mini. Lots of Qi chargers different brands all work perfectly with my X - very hit and miss. Big disappointment. The cynic in me thinks Apple is trying to get us to buy MagSafe chargers.

For the record, I've had several of these cheap Seneo charging stands since 2017, and they all work great with my 12 Pro Max. I don't need to wiggle the phone or do any of the acrobatics I've seen others report with other wireless chargers...just set the phone down on the stand and it charges.

Some qi chargers, especially the more expensive ones, are equipped with a sensor that turns off charging when it encounters a metal object. The blame for this lies with the magnets placed in the new iphon. Try to bring your iPhone very slowly closer to the charger and wait for the battery charging signal, after hearing the charging signal put the iPhone on the charger freely. This way you will cheat the sensor on the charger.

This worked for me on a cheap ass ESR charger that's probably like a year or two old.

I have a Samsung dual charger. One side is a stand and the other side is a lay flat pad.
My 12 pro is very picky on the stand and has to be dead centre and multiple tries before it will start to charge. If I lie it down on the other side I have no issues at all.

I had the same issue (I have nomad base pro station pro ) and I have contacted them and they said they did identify the issue and they are working on in update to fix the issue.

Did the 1.04 firmware fix things for you? I did not for me on my 12 pro max. I contacted them and they said that they haven't gotten any reports of it not working since the 1.04 firmware :(

Same issue with my 12 Max.
Samsung wireless chargers which I have all over the house worked fine for a few days. Then one day it refuses to charge, blinking light like others report, the next day it works fine all day, day after won't work, day after that works again.

I've quit using wireless chrging until they fix this thing. No more waking up to 50 percent in the norning or having to reboot every night.

Previously rebooting the phone would fix wireless charging for 24 hours before the issue came back.
Contacted Apple support. They had me update the phone via recovery mode, now it won't charge wirelessly at all. The reboot once / 24 hour fix no longer works.
