Interesting... where'd you see these leaks?

It looks like All iPhones models will be announced in the month of September. September is iPhone month. It's been like that for last 10 years or so.

This time of the year has always been exciting to me because of the new iPhones. I don’t care if they announce them in September and launch in October/November, I just hope it’s earlier than when the X launched. That was the longest time I’ve ever had to wait to preorder and receive my device. I always receive them on launch day, so I’m going to put in for a day off on delivery day.

Yasss! September is also my favorite year. I really don't think Apple will wait till November to release the Pro models. iPhone X was very exclusive and total major re-design. We have less than a month left till the announcements. I really think once the iOS GM is ready iPhone will start to release.

Yassss! Take that day off. We're all going to be waiting for our shiny iPhone to be delivered.

So apparently the iPhone event is filming today at Apple Park, a few “leakers” claim this so if it is true then no way do they sit on it until October.

this is another Prosser lie.

Not sure it tells us anything other than Apple is filming in August. We don't know anything about how complex the event is.

May 5 - Apple announced virtual WWDC 2020
June 22 - WWDC 2020 event begins
===
Difference = 48 days

Unless Apple has extremely poor planning, I doubt they started filming for WWDC after the May 5 announcement. Post-production takes weeks, if not a month.

Not saying anyone is right or wrong, but I wouldn't bet on September for iPhone if Apple began filming today.

As much as I would like it to be true that they are filming the keynote today, I do smell a strong amount of BS. As then within a few days, people on YouTube are going to be wetting themselves with posting videos of what they claim is inside information from a leak within the Apple filming crew, just to get x amount of hits / subscribers.

We are just going to need to be patient and wait for the official word.

2-3 week is plenty of time to shoot.

John Prosser didn’t lie about anything. What you’re saying is nothing more to exacerbate something that isn’t accurate. To elaborate (Which I’m stating the obvious), A ‘lie‘ is something directly that somebody knowingly says/posts is false without validation, versus saying something that may have speculation of the uncertainty if it’s true or untrue. You’d have to prove intent (Which you can’t). What he said, seems completely believable to me, but unless you can prove he lied, then please post a source otherwise.

Personally I think it will be a slightly staggered release...

I think we will have an event in September as planned with the Pro models coming end of September/early October with the non-pro models coming a few weeks later.

The reason being is the mass market will want the cheaper non-pro models, however, impatience will encourage sales/upgrades to their higher end models which in turn earns Apple more $$$,i just can’t see Apple releasing the cheaper models first, then the more expensive models later.

I hope this is true because I want the 12 Pro Max!

I'm ok with waiting until October....sort of. I just hope I don't have to wait until November for the 12 Pro Max.

I wonder what this will do to the IUP upgrade cycle? I have already received an email from Apple telling me that it's time for my upgrade.

You just keep paying - at which point it starts to be less value because you’re getting closer to paying full price for the phone, but have to hand it back (although you’re getting the value of using it..). And then next year if they revert to original timing if you’re on the new iup you may not be able to upgrade without paying an early fee.. Could be messy

I’m thinking if it’ll be much later than normal I’ll just pay off the balance on my 11 and start over - sell privately or hand down in the family

I REALLY doubt they will screw up the IUP because of their delay.

We should be receiving the invites to Apple event next week. Most likely it'll be on Thursday.

This makes more sense because your right! Apple would want to sell the most expensive iPhones first before releasing the cheaper models. We should be able to see the new release iPhone by end of month of September following 2 week release of the other iPhones.

The only problem with that is the amount of people who won’t realise the mid tier iPhone is due and will upgrade to a cheaper 11. As soon as the new iPhones are unveiled, last years devices are slashed in price and there will be some great deals come September. Would Apple want to risk impacting their biggest market and keep it waiting? A lot of people would see the Pro’s and assume that’s it.

I have a feeling Apple will discontinue the iPhone 11 line up.
