If you have something to say about someone specific (me or other), man the F up and say it. This passive aggressive posting is kiddie stuff.
Sorry, I have a terrible memory for user names and most of the time don’t even look at who a given comment is from, and therefore didn’t explicitly refer to the respective user names. I think it should be clear from the backlinks though.

I would wait to see the final product, but generally speaking I have faith in Apple to move things in the right direction. Sure they’ll mess up a few things, but these phones have gotten significantly better over the years

Well Foldable smartphones are overpriced trash. if apple would make a foldable iphone i wouldnt even buy it. Thats stuff is still in infancy and very fragile. Also wat the hell is even the purpose of those phones? Combining a phone and a tablet together? Just use a Phone for phone stuff and buy a tablet for tabled stuff

At least Samsung is giving their customers options and innovating. When has Apple last led the industry with innovating or ground breaking tech on a phone?

It’s funny how you can’t even come on to a tech forum and voice an opinion about tech without some people not being able to handle an opinion.

Do you have a point?
iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8. All the same overall design, spare for the antenna lines and camera bump. Guess you could count the rear glass on iPhone 8 if you really wanted.

Very similar story, in fact, for iPhone X, iPhone XR/XS, and iPhone 11/11 Pro, except with those the camera bump was the only thing that changed.

The point is, I’m not sure why you “expect more” from Apple when it’s exactly what they’ve been doing.

If I was unhappy with what Apple were doing in terms of innovation, I’d try something from a different company. There’s plenty of choice out there and maybe you’ll find satisfaction doing that?

Jesus Christ... the starting price will be now $799 for no redesign, no new SoC...just probably extra 2gb of Ram for the normal one :)
As i said in the past...if this comes true and we as a customers, we will vote YES with our wallets...then, i have no words for the humanity and i hope Apple will destroys us in the future and give us $1000 for nothing new compared to the last year or, why not? compared to the last 2 generations

You're absolutely right. Apple stopped being an innovative company, it's a stark contrast to the Jobs era Apple.
But they are making record profits, so why would they change their approach? The only thing that would make them change their direction is if people stopped buying their products, but that's not going to happen.
They have made some clever and innovative moves from the stockholder's perspective though, like removing the headphone jack and the charger to further maximize their profits, have to give them that.

at least in the past ...we get new SoC, new camera performance because of the new SoC, new ML etc...slightly new design, slighty better display....now? if the rumours are true,Apple will set the bar for the craziest money gap
iphone 13 - iphone 14 same display, same SoC, same camera performance, probably weaker display panel because of BOA (hope this isnt true), same design....but you will say...Apple will lower its price because its an old phone...no, the starting price will be $799, hopefully the starting storage to be 256 but i highly doubt it
And this greed will allow the Pro models to be increased by $100 because between the normal and Pro model in Apple mind it should be at least $200 difference because, better display, better camera, new SoC, slightly new design

Im sorry, you are right, regarding iphone because IF we talk about what is the mac nowadays since the M1 is total different story, that segment its in a different league for what you get at those prices...
i mean in 1 month we can probably get an M2 Macbook air 256ssd at around price of the iphone 14 pro max

Still remember the days when the iphone was around $500 i think and the macbook air or pro triple or more of the iphone price

I've never been less excited about an iPhone 5 months out that I am now. The pill/hole punch combo is an absolute eye sore. Apple should have just made the combo an elongated pill instead out two different things. Also, the camera housing is starting to get too damn big, IMO. They need to take a page out of Samsung and Google's playbook and try something different from the 3 burner stove approach that is currently in it's 3rd iteration. Apple seems stuck in cycle on un-innovative regurgitation (see iPhone SE) and the future (some companies are already there with foldable). Apple's staleness has a way of making techies like wanting itch my Android fetish.
my suggestion go buy an android phone. they will always have the best features first and it's often down to parts and demand being harder to get on a far larger scale.

if you want better cameras you have to expect the bumps to increase. the 14 pros will get a massive 1/1.3 inch sensor this year so it's bound to be bigger area.

I will say this about the pill hole I still think it looks better than the notch and I think on the real iPhone model it will look better than the leaks so far. That said rumours are this will only be a one year thing before Face ID sensors will be under the display so it will basically be just the camera that will be on the display. will see though

Starting price for regular iphone had been $799 for the last 2 years. Where have you been? :D

At least it’ll be only $699 for the iPhone 13 which is a great phone for those looking to upgrade as the only difference between that and the 14 is 2gb RAM.

If the base storage and RAM are increased, the extra $100 will be fully justified and would make the phone a worthy upgrade.

I don’t think too many ordinary consumers give a damn about the A15/A16… only the hardcore mobile gamers would notice the difference between the two chipsets, and even they’d struggle to see an observable difference within the next 2 years.

I'm struggling to see how Apple are going to market the vanilla iPhone 14/Max. I don't think a slightly upgraded dual-camera system is going to cut it.

If the rumours are true, why would you pay for the A15 and 60Hz when you can buy the iPhone 13 with the A15 and 60Hz, or even the iPhone 12 for that matter? The average consoomer won't tell the difference.

And if it's because you want a larger phone, then the same principle applies to the older Pro Max models.

The vanilla 14/Max would need to be very competitively priced, but those words aren't in Apple's vocabulary.

I really wished for USB-C... this is confirmed not to be happening yet, right? The sane person would think the sooner the better, but I guess it's money first before Apple truly "going green" (ad that entertains you at the end of each presentation slide), user convenience or some other inexplicable reason.

It does seem bizarre but I would hope the RAM would be increased as the chip is mostly irrelevant for most if they are getting rid of the phone within 3 years. I think it’s a better approach to buy last years 13 Pro though for anybody tempted by a 14.

iPhone will go portless (Mag safe) before it goes USB-C. Mark my words.

I’d have kept the notch as is with the 13 as I reckon we are all used to it by now and it isn’t exactly an eyesore, at least in my opinion. I don’t mind the camera hump too much but would have liked to have seen the a design with a flat back like in the early leaks.

Oh well, there’s always next year :D

late reply as I just upgraded from the 12 mini to the 13 mini this past week, only owning the SE OG and iPhone 8 and previous models prior.

I’m not used to the 13 mini’s narrower yet deeper notch and more exposed camera lens and dot matrix. I’d prefer the 12 mini more than anything else to be quite frank but the pill hmmm not sure yet will have to see it in person for a few minutes.

Latest rumours are that the vanilla 14/14 Max will have 90Hz. Sounds like baloney. The difference between 90Hz and 120Hz is so negligible, they might as well put ProMotion in the vanilla 14.

I’m sure you’re aware that people will still upgrade to the 14/14 Max especially when they’re on 12 series and prior, right?

Especially the ones who are holding the regular 11, 12 and 13. They now can get the 6.7” iPhone without paying the Pro Max money. The 14 Max will push sales, I believe.

I’m on a regular 12 now but I think another great deal for people like me is to upgrade to the 13 Pro/13 Pro Max once the 14 comes out. The differences are so small looking at the rumours and I think it’s a chance to get a Pro device for sensible money. I am expecting to see the iPhones go up in price this year as everything else has and I was already paying over £800 for my 12. Paying more than that is not an option and if anything I am looking to reduce costs in this area.
