I am hoping it’s down to the iOS 17 beta as a lot of people that have seen a drop in their battery health do seem to be running ios17 at the moment. 🙈I don’t own an iPhone 14 Pro, do have an iPhone 11 Pro Max at 82% but I wanted to say that it’s interesting before this forum post; though out the year I was picking up that the iPhone 14 Pro was having battery longevity issues. I honestly think this is a real issue. I wouldn’t be happy purchasing one of these units.. Really hope Apple releases a 5000mah battery and catches up with the other phone makers. Or even better one of those new higher density 5200mah batteries idk which newer tech that was all about. Is this simply Apple cheaping out?
Down to 95% now.I’ve recently dropped to 96%. It’s definitely way faster than the 13 Pro Max I handed in last year. It was at 100% when I upgraded to the 14 Pro Max.
i feel like people are expecting their battery health to go up over time.. why don't you guys just buy a new phone every 6 months if it's such a big deal
Yes been running the iOS 17 Beta since it came out.WOW! 96% to 94% in 3 days? Are you running iOS 17 beta?
88% now. Something is definitely wrong with this phone/battery.iPhone 14 Pro Max bought on 15th September 2022. Currently at 89%. It was 91% last week.
my crystal ball predictor is that is with battery life around 90-92% left will be around 87-88% left on our 14PM MAX at launch day. I think what it comes down to is that a select group of phones received higher quality yield batteries (those still around 98-100%) after a year but the majority if people received “in spec” batteries that have degraded faster than previous generations of phones. Now just because they have degraded faster doesn’t mean they are faulty and our batteries are trending to be around 80% or lower after 2 years. I believe it’s 500 cycles and 80% battery life remaining that is considered within spec from Apple.
What I really wanted to figure out through this thread was if there was a correlation with the make of battery (manufacturer) and how quickly our batteries have degraded. I still believe the Sunwoda has held up better than the Desay battery. This would be helpful information for when we go get a battery replacement (if we keep our phones longer than a year).
I am looking forward to seeing what capacity is released with the iPhone 15PM phone at the same time. I have thoroughly enjoyed the 14PM (although it’s heavy) and I think we all have batteries with spec but the quick degradation over the past few months is interesting.
I use coconutBattery to see mine.Where are you checking the make of the battery?
I use coconutBattery to see mine.

Plug in your phone to your Mac, go to the iOS Device button, then click on: "Battery Info"
Well, here is to hoping the 15 has some new battery tech. Would be nice not to have to worry about the battery. It’s been some time since I’ve used coconut battery. Didn’t realise they show the make of the battery as well.
I’ll check and report. Thank you.
Ps. I’m not on beta and still seeing the drop.
Not necessarily true. I was at 91% before the beta and have only dropped a percentage point over a month of beta use. In line with previous iOS use.Based on my observation skills (not expert by any means) there seems to be a big correlation between getting the beta and having the battery health % drop.
So there is no way I get the 15PM and then hold off on the 16PM. The 16 is going to have some serious camera upgrades and will be a slam dunk upgrade.Well, here is to hoping the 15 has some new battery tech. Would be nice not to have to worry about the battery.
