Launch day iPhone 15 Pro Max
249 cycles
93% health

Quite disappointing. I use optimized charging (but no 80% limit). I charge nightly using MagSafe.

It is what it is. I wouldn’t pay attention to the battery health stats (because it isn’t accurate anyway) until you start noticing a marked reduction in normal run time — then take a peek at it.
When the stat says 80%, the explanation below it will say something like “iPhone battery is running a peak efficiency” or something like that.
Then when it drops to 79% it will say “iPhone battery is severely degraded and should be replaced”. Ha.
In i guess 95%+ its works that way but I also saw one IPhone which had 83% and said the "replacement thing". So the Software is maybe really meassuring something and not only automatically say "replace" when its at 79%.

I want to know does battery health affects the iPhone trade-in price. For instance, if I were to trade my 15 Pro with 81% battery health would that affect the trade-in price?

Indeed, iOS states both the “battery’s health is significantly degraded” but is also “supporting normal peak performance” on my iPhone X, which has more than 1180 full charge cycles. Quite frankly, I don’t see any relatively decreased performance.

The "degraded" message you start normally to get if at 79% Battery Health (in rare cases also with 80%+). The peak performance is available as long as the IPhone never shut down without higher Battery percentage than 1%. This shutdowns happens if the battery cant provide the volatge needed altough still juice in the battery.

With a weak battery the shutdowns can happen at video recording with LED on and also a high brightness of the display all at once. Also high end games and bright screen. These are 2 cases where much voltage is needed.

Ipro15 battery 🔋 health at 100% after 20 cycles,i used to have a i-se1 in which i had just over 3 years and my battery health was at 97% which is pretty remarkable considering i bought the imini12 and after only 5 months my battery 🔋 health had dropped to a staggering 93% and it wasn’t as if i was burning up the phone playing games ect as i used to play one game quite consistently on the i-se1(golf clash) and yet my batteries 🔋 health stood at 97% when i sold it after 3 good years with it

Wow, that's impressive. I sometimes wish I could use my phone that little.

325 cycles, 92% health.

In all honesty, it means nothing as it’s behaving the same as the day I collected it on launch day.

343 cycles, 88% health. (15 Pro Max 256GB August 2023)

This is the worst battery life I've ever gotten from an iPhone. I unplugged it at 7:30 a.m., and by 6 p.m., the battery was at 6%. I can't wait to get rid of this phone.

Launch day with mainly cable charging and carplay with no limits. Optimised charging.

Recent heatwave seems to have tipped it down to 99%

Mediocre battery life but can't switch to Max model as too big for my pockets

This is the worst battery in an iPhone that I’ve ever had. I’m not upgrading this year, so I’m trying to run this battery down to 79% to get my battery replacement through AppleCare+.

Yeah I am not gonna lie I am pretty disappointed with how fast the battery degrades with the iPhone 15 pro max models. Mine is a launch day phone with the battery originally being new in August 2023 and first usage being in September. My iPhone 14 pro max battery health had barely degraded by the time I traded it in for the 15 pro max. I believe this time last year my iPhone 14 pro max was still at 97% battery health after almost a year of usage.

My launch day 15 pro max was just at 94% last week just dropped to 93% yesterday. I don't even consider myself a heavy phone user and only have 209 cycles. I used low battery mode yesterday when it hit under 30% charge apparently this damages the battery and degrades it instantly I guess cause my battery health dropped from 94 to 93 like that.

I am not upgrading this year since I upgraded back to back with the 14 pro max and 15 pro max. I do have AppleCare so I am stuck waiting until the battery health drops to 79% so they can replace it. But given how fast this is degrading now, that probably will happen in the next month or two lol.

Also, to be clear overall, I am happy with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and I do make it a full 8 hours or more a day on a single charge. Just disappointed with how fast the battery health has degraded.

My 15 Pro Max has just started the drop after 49 cycles! Probably the earliest it’s dropped to 99% on any iPhone ☠️🤣🙈

I definitely wouldn't worry about it. That's exactly normal. Apple says 80% after 1000 cycles, thus, 1% drop every 50 cycles. My 15 Pro Max is at 96% after 196 cycles, so right on par with normal.

I’m not gonna let it worry me, there’s no point. Just didn’t except to see it drop so soon! But as you say it’s quite normal if it looses 1% BH every 50 cycles or so.

Max Capacity : 100%
Cycle Count : 136

Bought and first used in January.

Edit. iPhone 15 Pro

Dropped to 88% at around 298/300 cycles
Dropped to 87% at 338 cycles
Now at 421 cycles still at 87%

So its getting close to 100 cycles without loosing 1% so its definitely slowing down. Theoretically if its now at 1% less per 100 cycles with my 87% 421 it would even be possible to reach 1000 cycles with at least 80% as promised.

I still hope its getting to 79% before this device is 2 years old (release day IPhone) so that my apple care repairs iit for free and i sell that thing and get the IP 17 Pro Max which should be here around that time in the future.
