Last year I had iPhone 14 Pro Max degrade so fast. I thought it was ios17 beta doing it.

So I didn’t install ios18 beta for a while but after seeing my battery already at 91% with stable versions of ios17 now I think it is not the beta’s that is killing my battery. So upgraded to iOS 18 public beta.

It should be either the standby, AOD or wireless charging.
I use AOD with wallpaper and standby with never turn off display.
Using wireless charging since iPhone 14 PM.
Was using wired fast charging before that and the last best battery life I had was with iPhone 13 PM

When I made this thread 4 months ago I was at 99%... I have been steadily dropping since and now at 92% with 272 cycles.

I charge overnight with 80% limit set... And I use a low power 5w brick with USB A to USB C cable...... Every once in a while in a pinch I put it on a high speed 30w USB C charger, but not very often.... Phone has only been on a wireless charger a handful of times since purchasing.
Do you do overnight charging?

The iPhone and Apple Watch of my wife and I are similar ages, but the batteries used to decay at very different rates.

The difference was I used to do overnight charging and she didn't.

Now that I don't do overnight charging, my battery health is much better and our stats are similar.

I do charge overnight, but I use an old school 5W charging brick with a USB A to USB C cable...... I figured that would greatly reduce the stress on the battery by giving it low wattage trickle charging overnight...... There have been maybe 5 or 6 occasions where I've needed to fast charge in a pinch so I've used a 30W anker charger USB C to USB C...... But other than that the battery has been babied (never on a wireless charger)...... For a while I was even using the 80% limit, but after jumping on the beta that became unsustainable as it wasn't lasting a full day for me so I had to bump it up to the full 100%......

Anyway I'm not too worried about it... I plan on skipping iPhone 16 this year so at some point I'll probably just spend the $99 for a battery replacement.

Got the phone early October last year. Mostly listen to music, X and web browsing, it isn't heavily used.
Charges overnight.

Battery Health - Normal
Max Capacity - 100%
Cycle Count - 200
Manufacture Date - July 2023
First Use - September 2023

I have optimized battery charging on, and 99% of the time I only charge overnight, wired with Apple's 20W charger. On days when I know I'm in for a long night I might do a top-up during the day.
Update a mere 3 weeks later:
98% (it was 99% for a week or so)
Cycle count 214

And so it begins…

15 Plus, bought it at the end of September after launch. I charge it overnight with a 5w charger. I don’t do the 80% charging or whatever it’s called. I never let my battery go below 40% so occasionally I will charge it in the afternoon if needed.

Max capacity 100%.
Cycle count 167.

Never had used wireless charging, I am now though as it doesn’t seem to make a difference only using wired charging.

I charge with the 35w Apple charger at home and a 30w belkin charger in the car.

15 Pro Max - Ordered on launch day, and set to 80% limit.
My last 2 phones I charged constantly and obliterated the battery before moving on. I'm hoping to get better results this time. I haven't been charging as much (ie charging pads all over) but I do wireless charge bedside each night. If I never need 100% for something like travel, I'll just turn it on.

Update 139 days later.

I did turn off the 80%. No real reason, I just went on a couple of trips where I felt I needed the whole battery and never put it back to 80. I still only charge 1x per day and leave optimized enabled.

Still at 100% on my launch day 15 pro, using "Optimised" charging.

I still charge it every night using my Apple Magsafe Charger, except when in holiday when I've been using my Belkin charger, via MagSafe. (During the holiday I still charged it overnight, on the Belkin while that was charging too, but I also needed to "top up" the phone during the day, especially when using navigation via carplay in our rental car and/or taking lots of pics.)
