Who said anything about all that lol, I said brick as in weight in pocket not when in hand. Maybe read before answering.
You answered before reading. You have to go all the way back to the beginning of this thread to see the original conversation which reads:

“It might be, but I truly hated holding the 14 Pro Max. Way too heavy and uncomfortable.”

This is when I replied about using a case for comfort… hello!

The 14 pro max is not heavy!! If you think so, then you suffer from “Wussatosis” LOL.

The 15 pro is 10% lighter this year…Which means a lighter “brick” in your pocket. That’s what you people wanted, right? A lighter iPhone. Well now you have one. It’s now a sponge with a screen in your pocket. Still too much?? Don’t put it in your pocket then, use a man purse Lol.

Which upgrade on the 15PM will WOW the average user ? I have the 14PM/512 and after a side by side comparison I don't see anything that impacts me (Average user) in any way.

It's far fetched to say it crushes the iPhone 14 Pro. I think that it's a nice improvement, but that they are overall quite minor quality of life improvement. Lighter, better optical zoom, a universal charging port, more ergonomic design, etc. Nothing ground breaking, but a nice refinement.

The phone market matured years ago, I think the time where a phone 'crushes' the previous generation is over

I expect huge upgrade for me coming from iPhone 11 Pro. I already got Pixel 6A last year I have been switching to every other week for 5G and noticed quite drop in quality of LTE compared to 5G including low-band in my area. But hated to downgrade my camera to single camera sensor from 2018 😠. Plus the slow fingerprint sensor on this was trash 😤

thought about getting a refurbished S22U for $650 or so and sell P6A, keep my old iPhone to manage settings in my AirPods and control Apple TV with HomePods in case my my 5 year old iPad Pro 2015 gives up and it's too cumbersome to use MacBook for that. Then read how much S23U is much better and worth couple hundred more and I also recalled how by default I would get some trash Samsung duplicate bloat ware apps.

in the end I settled for the new iPhone 15 pro for more compact size and because I am in ecosystem though little disappointed that they reserved best camera to max. This is what made iPhone stand out from Android. Not anymore!

Supposedly the 48mp sensor in the 15 pro was made by Sony this year & supposedly the sensor is a 1-inch sensor now, 25% larger than the 14 pro. I read that somewhere from a couple of sources. I’m sure we will find out soon.

Sony makes all of Apple’s camera sensors. There have been articles for years on how Apple and Sony work together on the engineering.

It has also been confirmed that the 48mp sensor and lens in the 15 Pro/Max and 14 Pro/Max are the same. The 48mp sensor in the plain iPhone 15 is a new sensor/lens combo that is actually smaller/less sensitive than the one in the 14/15 Pro phones. The new 5x telephoto sensor in the 15 Pro Max is the one that is 25% larger vs the 3x in the 14/15 Pro.

So it does appear that the camera hardware in the 6.1” 14 and 15 Pro are essentially identical. The 15 Pro Max has the 5x camera with the new prism lens and bigger sensor.

Phone technology has matured to a point where I don't think anything is ever going to "crush" last year's model.

Now, it just seems like every year is basically "slightly better camera", "slightly faster processor" and a bunch of other crap that 99% of iPhone users would never notice or care about except for extreme power users.

Like, is a faster processor or 5% better camera going to be noticeable to 99% of the world who only looks at pictures on a small phone screen and who primarily uses their phone for social media, texting/messaging and emailing? Of course not.

The typical iPhone user would notice no practical difference between the 13 Pro, 14 Pro and 15 Pro. The other 1-2% of super users? Sure.

I’m good with my 13P for another year it seems.
I’m the same, I also don’t base my decision on a new phone regarding how good the camera is as I have an “actual” camera for taking photos, I’m more for a longer lasting battery over anything else, my iPhone 13 Pro battery is at 90% so I’ll wait and see what the 16 has to offer

It appears to me that Apple is artificially jacking the delivery dates to give the feeling that Pro/Pro Max stock is sold out. People having earlier delivery estimates as Oct, are now seeing their phones being shipped.

I have been buying Plus(prior to X) / Max / Pro Max for straight 7 years on the launch day. Ordered 15 Pro Max 256 GB on 15th Sept at launch minute.

But with every passing day since 15th, I am really struggling with the urge to cancel the order, I do not see any significant enhancement in any area, and even then apple had the audacity to jack up the prices in my country.

Sure, I am an apple fanboy, I have everything apple, but getting fooled by Apple's marketing gimmick is something I can not bear. 15 PM might be a worthy upgrade from 12 PM or 13 PM, but not from 14 PM.

Hopefully reviews will kick off on Monday or Tuesday, and if 15 Pro Max is indeed just marketing, Order's getting cancelled dear APPLE. Really disappointed.

The biggest enhancement of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is weight - which is actually very meaningful. I have a work issued iPhone 13 - using both phones, the iPhone 14 PM weighs way too much. Switching from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to any of the iPhone 15 series is likely a big improvement in usability.

I was debating between the iPhone 15 PM and the iPhone 15 Plus - according to Apple, the iPhone 15 PM weights just a tad big less than my favorite big format iPhone ever, the 11 Pro Max... So I may just go with that. The Plus is cool, but I actually like the always on screen

Rest assured this weight reduction enhancement will be lost next year along with the launch of 16 Ultra.

As for me,
I am very delighted that the iP 15 models hit the market…. 😁

It was an excellent moment to exchange my SE (2020) 256 GB about a week ago by an already drastically cheaper solde new iP 14 Plus 512 GB…

😂😂😂👍👍👍

Can you believe that my First Generation 12.9 iPad Pro has USB 3. It's 8 years old.
huh?

1st/2nd gen 12.9 w/ button had Lightning, regardless of whether it was on USB 3 or not.

Unless you're talking about raw performance, which has never been an issue for me (full backups to computer? whatever - after the first they're now incremental/delta).

But iPad is basically a computer, not a phone. I'm not a movie producer, and won't be filming and pushing live to an SSD, even if that's Apple's BS justification of a new "feature".

Oh, I'd have to fully disagree there. You left out several upgrades that make this much more than a "s" especially for the Max versions. I usually upgrade when there are several hardware updates, but my count.
1) 3NM CPU first in Phone.
2) 2 Gig increase to 8 total gig
3) Double the Screen brightness
4) Ability to write directly to a hard drive
5) Finally 6E support
6) Slightly larger battery 12%
7) Better cameras - (always has better cameras)
8) Weights less
9) Almost forgot USBC!!!!

These are more than enough reasons for me to upgrade.
1. Every generation has a chip bump. Bumps are fairly incremental, not typically that significant.
2. Ok. More RAM. Great. But not reason alone.
3. My screen is great. If it is better awesome, but I believe it might be 1.5x not double.
4. I have no real use for this, and most people don't.
5. Yes, but most networks aren't yet. It will be a couple more years before phones can truly take advantage.
6. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 2.5% battery increase over the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Not 12%.
7. Again, yeah, uh-huh.
8. I don't care about weighing less. I like the solid feel of my 14PM. That isn't reason enough anyway.
9. Specifically why I upgraded my 12PM last year to the 14PM. I wanted to get what I could out of Lightning. I figure when I get my next new generation next year or the year after, I will be ready for everything I own to be USB C. So I'm glad I'm not on the USB C iPhone train yet. I charge mostly MagSafe anyway.

I think the 15 Pro is probably a decent upgrade for 12 Pro and maybe even 13 Pro users, but not 14 Pro users. And I would hazard many of the reviews and a lot of the opinion will say the same thing.

Do it, do it, do it! Or you know… just return it if you don’t like it after actually using it. But then what would you have to dramatize right now? Hmm…

Hopefully reviews will kick off on Monday
They won’t. They never kick off on Monday. For a self-proclaimed fanboy… you don’t know this?

This right here is the type of conspiracy that is always welcome on Alex Jones!

it's called hype, they do it every year, no way $2.5KAUD phones have sold out and have a 4 week wait lol
especially this year.

Not every country has the privilege to return iPhone if one doesn't like it. I know reviews kick off typically on Wednesdays, but your apple love struck eyes did not notice "hopefully" in my post.

You sire for sure, are madly in love with apple. Such blind love generally impacts clarity of thought and reason.

Agreed. As such Apple is great at innovations, but it certainly comes 2nd in line to the profits. They also also great at marketing old wine in new bottle.

S23U crashes 15 pro easily. Apple ain't innovative. It has to copy stuff from android as it keeps ifans happy. I got two iPads and few Samsung tabs and I use my tab more often than iPads. That is f u c king sad.

Here is the crispy 200 mp from my sexy s23U.

This forum whines about "too big" pictures. I had to downsize the picture to 8mp or something. Weak...

Only real differences, the option for 24mp photos and auto portrait mode, seem to be a soft limitation too, since it is on the regular 15 which has the same CPU as the 14 Pro… you do get options for external ProRes recording and Apple’s new log profile for video, but that is a niche use case.

Btw its bad for the environment to buy every year a new iphone and its unnecessary. I still don’t understand why every generation should have a huge difference? Why and how?
And its always the same ppl want more MP on cameras without understanding anything about cameras. Why does the Sony A7 SIII (4000$) has 12MP with a FULLFRAME Sensor? 200MP on 1/1.3 is the worst thing you can do and its just marketing ****.
Apple don’t joined the MP war and it was a good thing. On tiny sensors like that you can’t have much more without sacrifice a lot low light performance. More MP does NOT mean better image quality….
A printed 10x15 photo has around 4MP. Higher resolution are just needed for cropping. Even A4 need just around 8-10MP. But I know everyone want to make A1 prints … or print for walls ;-)

Point is there are differences between IP14PM and 15PM which are for some ppl completely useless and for some ppl very important. If theses changes are not for you, you can save a lot of money which is great isn’t it?
That Samsung crush anything will be told every time… for iphone users which want IOS and the apple ecosystem it doesn’t matter….
