Oh, I'd have to fully disagree there. You left out several upgrades that make this much more than a "s" especially for the Max versions. I usually upgrade when there are several hardware updates, but my count.
1) 3NM CPU first in Phone.
2) 2 Gig increase to 8 total gig
3) Double the Screen brightness
4) Ability to write directly to a hard drive
5) Finally 6E support
6) Slightly larger battery 12%
7) Better cameras - (always has better cameras)
8) Weights less
9) Almost forgot USBC!!!!

These are more than enough reasons for me to upgrade.
I think 8 GB of RAM upgrade is speculation until we get the iFixit teardown.

They are just minor upgrades, not crushes. The only thing they changed was the sensor in the camera. The other two cameras, telephoto and wide-angle are still 12 megapixels, which is pretty lame. The new anti-reflective coating on the optics would be nice for getting rid of those internal reflections when shooting or shooting video with pin points of light around. The 14 promax does this pretty well already but I’m sure it’s improved some. Austin Mann will probably be releasing his iPhone 15 pro/pro max review pretty soon so be looking out for that. and just FYI, the iPhone, 14 promax, etc. is not heavy lol unless you’re an elderly person and you need a lighter phone, then yes I can understand that but if you’re still young then you have no reason to complain.

15 pro and 14 pro main camera are exactly the same

You guys do realize that a case makes the phone a lot more comfortable, right? Like the leather Apple case, OtterBox commuter, and many others. The only reason the iPhone 14 pro max should feel heavy for you is if you’re stricken in age, have other disabilities that make the phone heavy for you, or you suffer from Wussatosis! LOL.
Some of us almost 68-year-olds can handle a Pro Max just fine. 👍

Yeah, the telephoto in the 15 Pro Max is nice, but I don't want a phone that large.

Let's talk about this 24 megapixel photo mode... The standard iPhone 15 has it too. The standard iPhone 15 has the same 48mp camera and same A16 chip that the iPhone 14 Pro got last year... Why don't we have 24mp photos enables on the 14 Pro with iOS 17?

Because Apple wants you to spend $$$ and buy 15

The bigger question today , how come they didn’t change the design of the phone ? We are going on 4 years with the same iPhone 12 design.

Actually from iPhone X to now is same design, that was 6 years ago.

Same for the front camera, same for like too many years.

A very disappointing update. Last year we got Dynamic Island, Pro Motion, 48 MP sensor, satellite SOS. This year only the Max gets any significant camera improvements, and that leaves the action button as the standout (and useful) new feature.

Honestly the portrait mode stuff most people will never notice unless they’re blowing the photos up.

5x is not even a real upgrade since it cannot do 3x while 3x is more practical.

not everyone likes to walk around with a brick with a screen in their shorts which is 9 months of the year here

A brick? Not hardly. Yet many complain about its discomfort when used without a thin case. By the way the Apple leather case is very thin. And another thing…. Most of you iPhone users wanted a thinner frame, now that you somewhat have a thinner frame, there are too many battery complaints as well. Never satisfied.

The portrait mode the iPhone 15 pro has is basically the same thing as the Focos app that does the same thing and has been around for years.

Also the multiple lenses it “has” are just cropped areas of the 48mp sensor that simulate a longer focal length and reduces quality (less megapixels) the more the image is cropped. You’ll go from 48mp to 12mp fairly quickly as the image is cropped tighter.

Why not shoot everything in 48mp in ProRAW and crop as needed in post which delivers the same results. Apple makes it sound exciting and new, but it’s just image cropping. If you recall, this was done with the 14 pro with the use of a 12mp image for an additional 2x camera. It’s ok, but image quality isn’t as good. I’d rather put an actual external lens over the 1x to get closer and maintain 48mp. For example the Beastgrip 1.7x lens which draws in light and offers more resolution. It offers amazing results, but it’s not for everyone. Only for the serious photographer and video enthusiasts.

Yes the 48mp sensor in the iPhone 15 Pro/max is new, but is it actually better? Maybe just a little…. Noticeable but not dramatic compared to the 14 pro series

the 48mp sensor in 15 pro series is exactly the same one in 14 pro series, why so many people are wrong about this.

He didn’t… it is a big difference if i say “the ip15 has no relevant changes for me” or ”the ip15 has no relevant changes”… and this is just false…
Wrong. You cherry-picked one of his/her sentences. However, part of what he/she said preceded what you quoted above. The other part was he/she saying: “Honestly, I think this is the most Lackluster announcement ever for Apple.”

That’s literally an opinion.

I haven't decided yet should I upgrade my iPhone 12 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max but I will wait some more reviews of the camera... even that it's bit hard to trust those youtubers who need to say something to get most views to get most money from their sponsors and ads... :-/

Who said anything about all that lol, I said brick as in weight in pocket not when in hand. Maybe read before answering.

Big jumps in specs. I think the iPhone 15 Pro, but not the 14 Pro, will be able to power a cheaper version of the Vision Pro that won’t have an M2 chip.;)

BROOOOO 😂 janeauburn is my new favorite poster because this is the second year in a row she's made an engagement bait troll post and it works beautifully. How does she do it???

Last year's 14 Pro was generally hyped up because of the 48MP camera and Dynamic Island. So what does Jane post? "iPhone 14: Just say no" with 23 pages of debate https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-14-just-say-no.2356969/

This year's 15 Pro is generally seen as underwhelming? Make a thread about how much it crushes the 14 Pro. Not even 5 days in and it's already at 13 pages.

I'm not even mad, this is brilliant. Looking forward to Jane's thread for the 16 Pro.

Some of those are rumours (RAM and battery size), one of which (the battery) has apparently been debunked by a regulatory database.

I have Apple Watch and it only does two things:

1. I wear it, not even look at it actually
2. Alarm
:D May I ask why you bought it then? I mean as an accessory (“I wear it”) there are nicer watches. Just for alarm? Pretty expensive for alarm clock.

Am I the only one who still has a bunch of devices with lightning connectors?

So now I'll have to go years with two different kinds of cables or replace all my lightning devices? Great. :(

I guess now you'll see why people with both USB-C and lightning devices wanted this change. It is annoying.

Supposedly the 48mp sensor in the 15 pro was made by Sony this year & supposedly the sensor is a 1-inch sensor now, 25% larger than the 14 pro. I read that somewhere from a couple of sources. I’m sure we will find out soon.
