This year is the first year I have managed to keep an Apple Silicone case on my phone for longer than a day.

More so with the fact I was telling myself to be patient with it.

Picks up a lot of pocket lint out of the box but after a week or so, the silicoen has worn in and it's barely picking anything up. It is very grippy and does leave fingerprints etc but have found a drip of washing up liquid and a damp microfibre cloth cleans it up well and reduces that.

I'll probably 'clean' it other than wipe it once a week or so going forwards

I’ve always liked the Apple Silicone, and this year’s version is somewhat improved over prior years: tighter fit, fewer fingerprints, less lint. I’m sure, like silicone always does, it will break down faster than TPU or poly, but I’ll be satisfied if it lasts 6 months.

The grip is mid-grade out of the box, but is increasing with use as is usual for silicone. Some complain about too much grip messing with pockets, but I only carry the phone in my back pocket, so it’s a non-issue for me. This also mitigates the lint issue.

Apple is reticent about their drop testing, but leaks, experience, and common sense say it provides a mid-level of protection for everyday drops, say up to 4-6 feet. For extreme conditions there are plenty of alternatives.

The killer app for this case, this year, is obviously the Camera Control cover. I’ve already tried and returned a number of cases with a cutout and, at least for someone like me who uses the camera a lot and enjoys the functionality of the CC, the advantages the cover brings far outweigh any advantages other cases may have. I’ll be receiving a Spigen Ultra Hybrid T this weekend and will report back on how its CC cover compares to the one on the Apple case.

Looking forward to your review of the Spigen. I am in the process of returning my otherwise beloved Caudabe Sheath because of the camera cutout. Like you, I'm using the Apple Silicone case, which is much better than it's been in previous years. Any case I would consider must have a camera control button cover that functions as well as the Apple version.

Thank you for the accurate feedback!
I was just about to ask this, you gave me the definitive answer.
I'm very attracted to the Sheath but if you are having a bad time with the cutout then there's little I can do, I'm going with Apple Silicone.

So after all the positive feedback on the silicon, and the button situation, I went and bought one. Haven’t used one in years, and to be fair I was never much of a fan bc of pocket-ability, durability and lint…

Got it yesterday and it’s already off. Not a “bad case”- decent feel in the hand but it still attracts lint some, can see where greasy fingerprints may be a long term issue. Very slim though, nice quality. Compared to the sheath, I much prefer the sheath even with the cutout. It’s much more pocket friendly, and I know from experience, they hold up better. Also got a spigen frosted black and the Caudabe synthesis… the sheath just has been the best I’ve been able to find. Be great to have a button vs cut out, but that’s kind of where we all are…
Correct, the Sheath is ruined by the CC cutout. It's unusable. I hate silicone, but, Apple has nailed it. Caudabe, apparently have no plans to introduce a covered CC.

Welcome to the club.

Warning though this addiction will ruin your wallet.

😁
I always have the PM every year always with an apple leather. Last year had the Silicone only because they stopped the Leather. And only 1 case for each phone. This year ended up with 2 case 🙈

So I’m going after work today to pick up my 16 pro, but now I’m second guessing which color to pick up. I always go Black, and planned to again this year but now I’m tempted to try the Natural Titanium… can I get a little help deciding? 🤣

Welp. My apple silicon came in and I put it on, threw it in my pocket and pulled it out 5 minutes later and it was lint galore. Plus it isn’t comfortable to hold. Took it off and in the junk drawer it goes lol. Ryan London delivering today and and phonerebel frosted delivering Saturday. Gonna be a good week

I decided to grab the Incase Slim case for my black iPhone 16 Pro, and it's a really solid case! it's a transparent bumper case with a tinted black glossy back and the camera cutout is big enough to not hinder using camera control. It's a fairly low profile case that really hugs the phone. I found it for $39 at Best Buy.

Anyone pickup the Otterbox Figura case(s)? Got all 3 for my Pro Max. Miss this series. I had the blue titanium and it didn't match any of the Figura cases so I skipped it. Now I am back to white/silver titanium and the cases are amazing! Also picked up the Ultramarine Apple Silicone case too. Love that color

Fit is fine with no creaking or gaps. It is not tight like a Caudabe which while some like that I find it's just a pain to take on and off - I was always afraid I was gonna break my phone in the process hahah.

I do not find it slippery. The sides give it grip and the back while smooth is not ultra slick so it works fine for me.

Couple more unedited photos I just took on my old iPhone to show how I like the color match with my Apple Watch Ultra. I swear I am taking these shots in the right position, not sure why when uploading it changes the display... sorry bout that.

Is this your favourite case at the moment?

Received the ultramarine apple silicone case from Woot yesterday. That blue is gorgeous in person and I’m not having any issues with it picking up anything in the pockets (but I’ve never had issues with lint in pockets…).

For $30, it’ll suffice until 3rd party manufacturers have capacitive camera control covers.

Black. This years black is insane. The sides are a bit darker, but I went natural first then exchanged.

Lol it’s barely any different than last year’s black. My wife still has her 15 Pro Max in black and it looks almost identical when you put them next to one another.

Don’t get me wrong though it’s a great choice and I chose black coming from a blue titanium 15 Pro Max (which I kind of got bored of the color).

Has anyone been rocking the apple silicone case for the past few weeks? I’ve always been reluctant about it due to its durability issues, but seeing some comments here that they may have upgraded it from past silicone cases?

Has anyone been seeing any degradation with the case thus far? How is the case different from previous models?

It was noticeable for me. I had the black last year too.

Ah ok can’t argue with that then. Not a big difference to me.

My favorite black that was released lately was the Space Black 14 Pro Max for sure, deepest black since Jet Black 7. Otherwise they’re just always shades of dark gray.

But again I love my decision of going black this year and wouldn’t change it. Natural Ti was a very close second for me.
