My Spigen Ultra Hybrid for iPhone 16 Pro arrived today. I thought that an article posted earlier stated they were covering their cutout with a captive button?

They have a separate model called Ultra Hybrid T (touch?)

Yeah, will probs give it at least a rental from Amazon when it's there. 😏

I'm not buying cases with camera cutouts, full stop. Hopefully someone not-Apple introduces covered buttons.

I am going to keep stressing this...

I think case manufacturers were blind-sighted by the fact that there needs to be a conductive cover on the case that covers the camera control button to facilitate the needed finger gestures to operate that button.

None of these cases outside of what Apple, Beats, and perhaps one or two other companies mentioned here are currently implementing the needed conductive covering in their cases.

From Apple's MagSafe case product description (as well as Ottorbox and Beats):

"This case works seamlessly with Camera Control. It features a sapphire crystal, coupled to a conductive layer to communicate finger movements to the Camera Control."

I would bet most of the other case manufacturers being discussed in this thread DON'T have that feature. I only saw one manufacturer with this feature which you can find IN THIS POST.

Right. And I agree. But I'm also not in a hurry to case up. I ran my 15 Pro all year without a case - proved to me that cases are more for looks than functionality. So that's how I'm treating them going forward.

That will work. It will take time for all these case manufacturers to catch up and implement the needed feature.

But, again, hasn't this been a thing with Android phones for some time? Why the need to play catch-up (other than the specific dimensions of this series of course)?

Has anyone ever tried Moft cases…one minute I was looking at this thinking it’s a risky buy and the next thing I know…the need for a thin almost naked case took over and I pre ordered this 🙈

Oh, Snap. Sorry, couldn't resist. Interesting. I've never heard of them. For what it's worth, my Fakespot Guard "approves" this seller:

I think you mean Camera Control (not Action button).

I can't handle the HOLE

The Nomad Rugged has a new color (Desert). Too bad about the CC cutout, though at least it has a screen-side lip compared to some cases that have the entire section missing (looking at you, Mous).

This is the one I bought for that same reason. More up front, but if it's as nice as it looks, it's worth it. Plus, they did a product video where they changed a lot from the Clarity 2.0. I didn't have that either, but it seems like a lot of the largest criticisms (thicker, not much camera protection, glossy and slippery) were addressed in the 3.0.
So, I went through with the order of the Clarity 3.0 case. Very interested in seeing if this case will be as good as the Phone Rebel.

Found an alternative "alcantara" case I guess it'll have the same feel as fine woven if anyone is interested, I haven't tried any of these..
