Returns are not easy when buying it via Amazon US for us folks. Sometimes they process them as returnless refunds and sometimes you have to send it back and wait for refund.
For items below £25 they dont bother.

Honestly the TineeOwl is my go to right now, it has the thinness of the older sheaths. The fit certainly isnt as good but for the price its hard to beat.

You got an offer+coupon on a used one, so ~£30 instead. Well done.
This can be improved by simply gently bending the case up at this part when not on the phone, typically. Unless you got a complete lemon with th a bad cut-out; rare and unlikely most of the time. No doubt later ones may be cut fractionally differently to improve it slightly, but not the massive problem being implied here.
I guess they'll send you a replacement anyway if you ask them?
It can’t be worked out on the bottom. That’s not the issue. The case is bowed on the back clearly showing how the phone doesn’t fit fully down into the case. This is for sure lemon.
This has been taken care of from RL. Just an example of not all cases are the same issue.
Remember this is the closed bottom case. I have zero problems with the open bottom case. I have a lot of them with no problems.
Also remember there are lots of case manufacturers that charge premiums and their case have major issues. This isn’t isolated to RL.
my problem with RL is they think their customers or maybe just me, are stupid. they told me the gap was intentional to allow for 3rd party cables. this makes no sense. a cable will fit if the opening is large enough, the gap doesn’t help.

If the button is good on RL ill let that gap slide. Plus the dust plug i use will hide it.
don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice case and the gap isn’t the end of the world. it just looks slightly weird and i constantly feel it when swiping up from bottom. i figured their second batch would correct for this as i obviously thought and still believe they didn’t intend for this. i asked if they could send me a new one when they fixed it. that’s when i got the reply that it was intended. they also claim that past customers requested the gap. 🤔

no cause, first they didn’t offer that to me but also they claim the gap was intended and all their cases have one.
