It turns out the Stone colour is not a true grey but a greige, which is probably why it doesn't work so well with Cosmic Orange.

The Marigold Yellow mobee leather case I originally purchased probably would have been a good match, but as mentioned I returned it because of its Camera Control cutout design and because of the metal camera cutout ring (which could block wireless signals and scratch the plateau).

I'm thinking a dark blue case would also work well, although that gives some Minions vibes. ;)

I'm also hopeful that some new non-Apple lanyard silicone cases appear soon. Most of the current third party ones out there don't seem to be designed that well IMO.
Very good point about metal cutout support ring around the case. It’ll definitely mark the camera area aluminum if it contacts it for sure over time.

Great concept but they feel cheap. Also have sharp edges all around inside and outside.

Returns started already.

I see or feel nothing on the TW cases that should worry anyone about scratches. I've taken mine out of the case numerous times and don't see any scratching. The inside is actually on the soft side. Definitely not like sand paper or similar at all.
There isn’t anything in there that will scratch the phone.

Some people are just way too concerned about every little contact from cases scratching their phones 😄

Suti offered me a replacement of the clear phone back I got with the white marks on it. They said clear is out of stock, so I could choose a different color, wait until clear is back, or get a refund. At the end of it all, I opted for a refund and they let me keep the case as well. Shoutout to the person who handles their Instagram because they actually helped instead of the AI bot team answering emails.
Day 22 and still nothing here… lol.

Mine hasn't even shipped yet from Amazon but they already took my money.
Maybe I should go and try to cancel this thing out.

Too late to cancel :(

Are the sharp edges around the camera openings?

They should have already refunded you or sent a replacement if you messaged them. Your package prob got lost somewhere
Their communication is non-existent at this point. I asked for a refund a few days ago and nothing. A mystery shipment showed up in my USPS Informed Delivery account, which could be from Suti, but who knows. At this point I’ve written them off either way.

It does seem though, that anodized aluminum is far more susceptible to scratches than PVD coated titanium. I remember aluminum phones from years back that were pretty scuffed up after a year of swapping cases, whereas my 16PM didn’t have a single mark when I traded it in.

Bought the clear UAG Pathfinder because I have always loved the look of this case, even though I wanted to boycott them until they add a camera control button. Last year was slightly understandable that they didn’t add it, but this year it’s just lazy and cheap to not add the CC cover.

Anyways, I received it from Amazon yesterday and put it on my phone… holy cow has their QC gone down hill. When you look at the screen, there is silver iPhone showing here and there all unevenly. Just all around a lazy/sloppy attempt at what used to be a “premier case brand”. Sending it STRAIGHT BACK.
I will snap a few pictures when I get home to post here showing what I am talking about. It’s too bad because I love the way the clear back looks on the silver iPhone.
UAG, Otterbox, Speck, Mous—IMO many of the old favorites have slipped on quality while simultaneously jacking up their prices.

Yep agreed. I remember my aluminum Samsung devices sides being marred up just by the silicone sides of the case rubbing over them during time. And yes I did remove case and clean often. Like 3 times a week lol.

Here is my Caudabe order, as I sit here with my thumb in my @ss, not a single case has shipped :(

Here is the reply from Robot Liz about not holding up orders with multiple cases (guess that was total BS):

Well, why hasn't my Sheath at least shipped?

Probably because the template dummy iPhones weren’t 100% exact when they made the measurements etc ?

If there's give in the case and it starts rubbing against the aluminum, it's a matter of time before scratches and markings show up. I've seen it happen to friends as recent as the iPhone 15 aluminum phones. It's definitely inferior to the titanium from that point of view.

I don't buy that about shipping items individually...I ordered another 16 Pro Max case for my sons phone in the same order of my 17 Pro Max cases back on 9/11 and that hasn't even shipped and its been in stock since the order was placed. Year after year they get completely overwhelmed and nothing ever changes.

Anyone with any insights on rhinoshield? They don’t seem covered much for the 17 but the name sounds familiar to me at least from years ago?

Their clear case in blue looks super tempting to me - especially without the MagSafe ring

But also expensive + expensive shipping to Canada 😭

Tell her you a Big Influencer on MR and will be discussing this ordeal on there in detail.

I bet they will delay your order even further lol.

I like native Union for trying different things and love their APP-Case (waiting for APP3 case), but felt that their iPhone Cases (like Hardgraft) have weak MagSafe.

That said, my Nomad Horween arrived yesterday – feels like old Apple leather case. Probably not as nice as the Ryan London OpenBottom-case will be. I wish someone did this kind of leather without a CC button and a completely open Button area like the old nomads. The Sensor-on-Sensor-thing makes the button less responsive, that is: even worse to actually use :-D. Otherwise the Nomad is a nice case, compact, good USB-opening, feels a bit smooth at the beginning but I know that with use the leather will gain a better grip.

Right that makes sense but Tech Woven which is the case that was referenced. The fit is super tight so there’s definitely no give in that particular case and there shouldn’t be any concerns of scratching the phone from the “sandpaper like” material that’s inside lol

Big fan of the apple Techwoven case in Purple when paired with my Silver iPhone 17 Pro max. Looks and feels great.

My VERY Close second pick is the brand new Prodigee BlackOut. Full coverage, great materials that hide wear and fingerprints. It also has camera control coverage that works perfectly. It's only slightly larger than the Techwoven case but will provide better protection. Materials remind me of the old Magpul cases from back in the day but a nicer feel IMO.

I did a video of it on my channel and will have a full Prodigee line up video coming soon which will also include a code for 30% off anything Prodigee sells in case anyone is interested.
