Are there any premium feeling cases that cover the plateau?
Working in CNC makes it susceptible to scratching by chips etc...

Havent found any that looks good/Feels good which isnt hampered by terrible delivery times like Caudabe.

Back in the Apple Clear case today. This case is nothing like the prior iterations—this one is softer with much better buttons and hand feel. It’s also super light at 21 grams. I love it on the Air, which gives me iPhone X and iPod Touch vibes—so light, so comfortable, just perfect.

As for my other cases, the Andar Aspen is lovely, and will be my go to for travel, outdoorsy type stuff, etc. It weighs 37 grams though, which disqualifies it as my daily on this device.

The Beats is not bad, but at 32 grams and with a fairly slippery finish, it can’t compete with the Apple case, so it doesn’t make the cut and will end up on the Marketplace.

The Süti, at 41 grams, is just ridiculously heavy for a case that provides virtually zero protection (IMO, obviously). It also doesn’t make the cut.

Still to come this month are the Pitaka Moonrise Ultra-thin (20 grams) and the Arc Pulse (<20 grams) in polished silver. We’ll see, but I’m betting these two will make the permanent rotation.

So, the Aspen for certain situations that require a bit more protection and grip, then rotating between the Apple, Arc, and Pitaka for everyday use. I won’t be adding any beefier cases, which in my opinion defeat the purpose of the Air. Overall, I’m feeling pretty good about the case situation, and my wife is pleased that I’ve gone from nearly twenty last year down to under five keepers this year… lol.

Agreed, it's one of the best cases for the Air, I have it in Shadow. There's not a thinner case with the CC button that i've been able to find. Apple uses a thinner CC button for all their cases. All the 3rd party brands are still probably sourcing their buttons from manufacturers that maintained the size from the 16.

Süti keep giving me a slight panic attack. AfterShip keep posting an exception and saying “package delayed due to unforeseen reason” because the estimated delivery date is 10/6 - 10/7, even though it’s moving through the network with USPS. I work with USPS and it’s just going from hub to hub and getting scanned in the process. It left NJ this afternoon so it’s still on schedule to be delivered.

When did you order and from where?

Sadly the gray Sheath I ordered is one of the colors delayed that “supposedly” will ship the 2nd week of October, which I’m assuming is next week, but based on Caudabe’s track record, who knows when? 🤷‍♂️

Semi unrelated: Any recommendations on thin 5k MagSafe battery pack; potentially 10k if super thin?

So, a question to everyone who had a case with a camera control button for your 16: did the button leave marks on the CCB of the phone?
I’ve seen some instances where the case left abrasions on the button (even Orginal Apple cases) and I’m wary with a lot of the buttons being - albeit soft - metal on the inside. Even soft metal might wear down the coating over time I fear, with it being a moving part… So what has been your experience ?

I guess you could say the sides are kind of square and boxy, IMO not a problem at all. The fit, finish, buttons, frosted back and feel in the hand are top notch. YMMV :)
Plus, no rainbow effect on the Apple logo.
The sides aren’t chamfered? Boxy like sharp corners?

How much does the Suti silicone weigh? I’ve read here that the nano leather weighs 39g.
That’s for the pro max. I have the pro. Sorry, I don’t have a scale. I imagine the silicone is slightly heavier. Keep in mind that it’s an inlay.

The CC on my 16PM didn’t have any marks on it after a year in various cases.
