Personally i would like a slide out keyboard but i know that will just never happen. Im interested to hear what people thinK the new one would look like as i have read most people are bored now with the look & want a change!

iPhone 2010! Do you think the design willl change? & if so, what way?

I imagine Jonathan Ive's team and the engineers will be working to make it lighter and thinner, though there'd be a point where too light and thin a form factor might not be pleasant to hold in the hand and actually use.
I can say with 99% certainty that the style will change. They can't keep the same body style for 3 years. As far as to what they will add, I don't think there is any real way of knowing now. It depends on what other features other phones come out with before then and then Apple will see what they have to do to meet/exceed other phones.
I am 99% confident that apple will NEVER make the iPhone have a hard keyboard. Apple is all about multi-touch.
As far as what I want to see, I want a true 16:9 display and OLED screen. If they did put a front facing camera, I would use it, but that it will not happen anytime soon due to cellular network issues. Who knows, maybe 4G networks will be able to handle it.

No I don't. If it does, god help me, I will be all over the forums complaning how I signed into a 2 year contract with my 3G S, and they won't give me subsidized pricing.

- Mac Mini since 2005 has looked the exact same = 4 years
- PowerMac G5 since 2003 has looked the same up to the Mac Pro of 2009 (with the exception of the drive bay) = 6 years
- PowerBook G4 2003 looked like the Macbook Pro up until late 2008 = 5 years
- And the Xserve has looked basically the same since 2002 = 7 years

If you want a touch screen with a slide out keyboard get the AT&T Quickfire (worst phone in the world after you actually use it) or the Pre. The iPhone doesn't need one with its amazing onscreen keyboard.
Im just all fingers & thumbs I need to be very slow using the touch screen. I love the iphone, im just a wee bit old fashioned with the liking of querty keyboards
I sure as hell hope they never put a hardware keyboard. If they do, we'll know they let the engineers loose. A hardware keyboard may be great for other companies, but not for what Apple is trying to do. Having a similar design ensures compatibility and the success of the App Store. Look at any other platform with multiple designs - not everything works. Also, I can type 64 wpm on my iPhone. For a lot of people, the soft keyboard is just fine.
Furthermore, the ability to change the screen layout is practically game-changing. Look at Apple's support for languages, it just makes a ton of sense both business-wise (only need a few production lines I'll assume) and it is better for the consumer. Also, the more moving parts, the worse durability of the product. Look at the problems the Pre is having with its slider - on PreCentral they suggest you stick a piece of paper in to prevent the battery coming unloose when you open the slider. Just pathetic! Also, I like with the iPhone that I can see what key I'm actually holding by the pop-up - not possible on a hard keyboard.
In conclusion, please Apple, stick with what you've got. No hardware keyboard!

Do you like the landscape keyboard? After all its coming to all Apple apps in 3.0.
Personally I'm less interested in a new form factor right now then I am in new OS features.
I think OS 3.0 is a great move in the right direction with the correct balance of interface and functional improvements.
However, there are a few items I'm hoping for in the next release. For instance, I have no interest in tethering but do have a need to transfer data between my iPhone and computer. This could be resolved by a disk mode feature as is present in the iPod allowing me to receive data to my phone, transfer it for proper editing on my computer, and transfer it back to my phone for e-mailing.
I'd also like to see some improvements made to the iPhones home screen and lock screen. It would be great, for example, to have a customizable lock screen that shows me messages or weather or stock without having to unlock the phone and find the proper app. The home screen is also becoming cluttered and a better way of navigating it and organizing icons will become more important as more apps become available.

Yeah, i always wanted it to do that, in fact i wanted it to always change to landscape...although i would like to be able to change settings as when im playing bejewelled last thing before i sleep(it helps me go to sleep quicker)it keeps changing to landscape coz im lying down & i hate that.

I personally think the iPhone 3Gs is a decent upgrade; also a proper one for Apple. Why release anything more extravagant when the iPhone 3G is the current champ?

I predict the 4th version of the iPhone will use the Nvidia Tegra chipset and once again Apple will blow the minds of us tech enthusiast. It makes perfect sense if you ask me. If they don't use Tegra or something equivalent, the 4th iPhone will not stand a chance against... uh let's say maybe.... a Zune HD phone???

If they wanted to use the Tegra, they could have this generation. Why didn't they? 1) It's an unproven platform. 2) Its power consumption is higher than the cortex a8 sgx combo it seems to be using.
The only superiority a tegra chipset would have is for graphics functions, which the iphone does just dandy on. It wouldn't make a difference for most tasks (and there isn't even a tegra variation with a cortex a8 in it).
Currently, there are NO tegra phones out, despite the platform having been ready for them since at least Fall 08.
The next iphone will almost certainly utilize a custom SoC as they've been hiring people with that expertise.
