Have this downloaded but want impressions on usability first, my phone is nice and stable and I don't really care to push my development target to 3.1 right now... all this updating xcode is getting old.

Also I've been unable to get MMS to work on my 3GS anyway, tethering yes, mms no, and when I had all the correct info, it didn't take the ipcc updates onto the phone no matter how many times I tried, and I was unable to send a group sms with the info typed into the apn, i had to do a reset there to get to send a group sms again.

Deciding whether I should install it right away or not. 3.0 is so bug free for an x.0 release.

Maybe I'll install it on my iPod touch first.

Tell me you're kidding. Ring tones are horrible distorted at anywhere near max level, Apps get broken randomly on resets (losing icons etc). That's a huge bug. Mark my words it's fixed in 3.1.

Haven't seen any of those bugs myself. The only apps that break are those that needed an update to work with 3.0 but haven't gotten one, and I haven't lost an icon. My ringtones sound fine.

I did the update to 3.1 and the tether/MMS is still there and now the Things App icon is working. Otherwise no noticeable changes. I did a option/upgrade rather than a new install BTW.

So this is only for the iphone? No ipod touch? Does this give us a timeframe on when 3.1 might be released?

Well I've upgraded to 3.1 (Build 7C97d) and it has kept my "unoriginal" carrier file so tethering and MMS is still working perfectly for me! Haven't noticed any differences yet...

First discovery on my iPod touch: they brought back, from the betas, the option to turn on phishing alerts (Apple calls them fraud warnings)
