Is this because after 12 months they start to automatically deduct £10 per month for your unlimited web UNLESS you contact them to cancel it?

I thought the unlimited web is only available if you top up £10 each month?

I'm still waiting for my credit card to arrive so I can place an order onto it!!
Will be ordering online from the apple store as soon as i get it.. the PAYG one though..

Will be putting the sim current iphone 3G contract into the 3G S and then getting a simplicity sim into my current 3G for the mrs...

I'm sure apple online won't sell out tomorrow... doubt the stores will have any queues.. maybe lines of 10, if that :)

Good luck to all those for tomorrow anyway..

Looks like I was correct about you having to opt out at the end of the 12 month 'free' period.

*Unlimited data and Wi-Fi

Data usage whilst roaming not included. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available at any of the 9,500 Wi-Fi hotspots from our partners The Cloud and BT Openzone. Excessive usage policy and full terms apply. At the end of the twelve month free period you will start to be charged £10 per month for the Unlimited Web and Wi-Fi Bolt On. We'll send you a text communication at the end of the twelve month free period to inform you that your free Bolt On is coming to an end and give you advice on how to opt out if required.

The following is the relevant page from the 3G PAYG.

I called in at the O2 store near Moorgate, London on my way home from work this evening and just to reiterate what others have said, I was told that I would have to top-up the included sim by a minimum of £10 in store if I wanted to buy the PAYG iPhone.

So what are the consequences of this if you planned to use an existing O2 sim? I assume you can just use the £10 credit then discard the PAYG sim or is there something more sinister I haven't realised? It's a bit of an inconvenience but if you want the handset on the day another £10 doesn't seem so bad.

I also assume that the top up will not be required if buying from the online Apple store. I guess we'll find out for sure later when Apple update the site.

I believe you have to purchase a topup regardless of where you buy the phone from. Purchasing the topup activates the sim and 12 months data.

Haven't you guys thought of selling the PAYG SIM? I have sold my iPhone 3G to a mate, and am selling him the SIM for £30 because of the 12 months Free Internet.

Worth a crack, especially if any of you are selling your old iPhone.

Do we think the apple store will make them available at midnight?

It says available from 8am on the Apple website.

Do you really think there'll be a run on the Regent Street apple store at opening? Baring in mind that it is a working day, and most 3G owners can't upgrade?

I'm considering ducking out of work for an hour and getting the tube up there, but if it's going to be pandamoniam then I won't bother.

"If you don't have your PAC code just now, this can be given to O2 within 14 days from when you join join O2."

So to my earlier question and answer given, i CAN NOT use my simplicity NEW number for say a coupla months, and THEN pac over my old number.

So from the day i BUY the simplicity SIM, i have 14 days to PAC over the number, correct?
