Current iPhone owners and existing O2 customers

There are a variety of upgrade options for existing customers. To learn more about upgrading to iPhone, please visit your local Apple Retail Store.

Hopefully means in-store upgrades will be available to even those who aren't quite eligible yet.

"If you don't have your PAC code just now, this can be given to O2 within 14 days from when you join join O2."

So to my earlier question and answer given, i CAN NOT use my simplicity NEW number for say a coupla months, and THEN pac over my old number.

So from the day i BUY the simplicity SIM, i have 14 days to PAC over the number, correct?

Nope any time is fine - checked the other day

Anyone here heading to the Trafford Centre tomorrow morning? At least we'll have the car park to ourselves. (^_^)

Called into the CPW today where i ordered my iPhone from, said they had received them this morning but obviously weren't allowed to sell until Friday, and as I had preordered one my name would be on a unit.

I cant wait!

i'm heading to Meadowhall first thing tomorrow to slump on the floor somewhere before the store opens..

to the poster a few pages ago, each time there has been an event on that is before meadowhall opens, there is a door open, and we've been able to queue inside...

i remember the opening day, I was there from about 6am ish, and it opened at 9am on a saturday.... so your idea of the store not opening til 10am, ain't quite right...

Hi Frozentoast, long time no hear! You may not remember but at the launch of the first iPhone (09.11.07) you helped me by reporting the length of the queue to me by telephone as I made my way there from work! I got there about an hour before launch.

I was planning to go tomorrow but I have to work first thing.

I thought I recognised your avatar! 3rd in line, I remember the day well.

After upgrading to 3.0 earlier today I'm begging to get cold feet on upgrading as I could put the money towards a new iMac or something more useful. =/

It says available from 8am on the Apple website.

Do you really think there'll be a run on the Regent Street apple store at opening? Baring in mind that it is a working day, and most 3G owners can't upgrade?

I'm considering ducking out of work for an hour and getting the tube up there, but if it's going to be pandamoniam then I won't bother.

lol sorry i was not clear, I meant the Apple online store.

mmmm was considering TC because of earlier opening times and a bit of a experience. but by the time ive got back over to warrington (and stuck in traffic) it might be like 10 or something.

id hate to go early to the mall near me and be the only one there until 9..esepcially if this rain keeps up.

mmmmm..

If I bought one of these, then in 12 months when my free Web + Wi-fi expired, activated that sim and transferred my number, would I get another 12 months of web + wi-fi?

cheers

Don't buy one for that purpose yet because they have 'must be activated by' dates, but nearer the time, assuming O2 don't clamp down on it, I don't see why not.

Dear Customer,

With the iPhone 3G S launch tomorrow we are extremely excited to anticipate you joining us in this amazing event. At Apple we always strive to give you a great experience when in-store and to ensure that everything runs smoothly, please could you check the following requirements before you visit us.

If you will be joining us as a new O2 customer please ensure that you bring the following documentation:

1. UK Credit or Debit Card registered to your home address(which will also be required for payment of iPhone if applicable)
2. Your Sort Code and Account Number for Direct Debit setup.
2. Proof of Address (e.g current utility bill, bank or building society statement/council tax bill dated within last 3 months, driver’s license)
3. PAC code if you are wishing to transfer existing number from your previous network provider.
Existing number will be transferred within two-five working days of O2 receiving the PAC code. O2 will also give you a temporary number whilst you wait for your existing number to transfer so you can continue to make calls, send texts and surf the internet. If you don't have your PAC code just now, this can be given to O2 within 14 days from when you join join O2.

If you are an existing O2 customer and are in the eligibility period to upgrade we will require the following:

1. UK Credit or Debit Card registered to your home address (which will also be required for payment of iPhone if applicable)
2. Photographic Identification(Drivers License or Passport)

Couple questions...anyone got any ideas?

1. If I have an non-iphone contract through CPW with o2, will I be treated as an o2 customer, or as a new customer (and subject to credit check etc.)?

2. I have the money to pay the charge for the iPhone in cash....am I going to have to pay this into my bank account and pay for it on card?

Good luck tomorrow guys!! I wish I was there with you Trafford Centre lads, but my contract isn't up till Jan and I can't avoid PAYG and don't agree with the buying out contract!

I was 4th in queue or so for the 3G launch, I enjoyed the waiting, though not the wait whilst o2's servers disintegrated! Actually makes me a bit sad I haven't got the same buzz I had the night before the 3G launch!

I wonder if that guy that slept outside last time with be there? He looked fooked by the time he got his 3G!!

Anyone know when (UK time) we can expect to see the first teardowns for the 3GS?

Depends - the ifixit team amongst others will likely have one pretty quick. Will be interesting to see how they've changed the innards, as there was definite refinement of the when comparing the original with the 3G.

ANyone know which store /country in the world will start selling first? Presumably people will be getting them earliest in the East, then going westward?

Apple's online store have made 3GS available for order...2 day shipping. Just placed mine...no more £10 top up thank God
