Cannot quite remember what the acronym means, its "_____ of Delivery" - basically they are waiting for the driver to confirm you have signed for it and have it in your posession.

won't be long now!

How come only £163? I thought they were more than that?

Sold my 3G to offset the cost

On another note, ran all my errands and i've just got back and still no delivery. I'm now officially phoneless and unreachable. I just hope the phone comes in perfect condition without any issues OTB

man, that sucks!! they'll probably leave it to the last second, by which time you'll have 1 strand of hair left (on your head)!!

my UPS tracking still says "Billing Info Received"..

come on UPS.. get on with it... it's supposed to be with me to-morr-ow!!

Yay! UPS driver just pulled in.

EDIT: Phone in hand...unboxing now...

EDIT II: Wow...it is fast! All done and dusted, it synced in record time. To be honest i prefer the screen of my 3G...showed deeper colours but at least i don't have the dreaded orange urine coloured screen syndrome. Overall i like it...a lot.

SOmeone who might be able to help...

Do you know if there is ANY speed difference between the PAYG vs the contract SIM and data plan ?

I've made 2 thread on this buy nobody has replied... I just want to rule this out so I can make my decision of which one to get.

Do you know the cut-off times for o2 next day delivery ? ( or have you ordered through Apple )

Is your question specific to the 3GS?

In general, there is (for many people) a speed difference between o2 Pay and Go and Pay Monthly.

I am told by o2 that many cannot exceed 400kbps on Pay and Go. They claim they are looking into this. The relevant ticket is 4600824.

Yes, the 3G S only.

I emailed o2 and they rang me up today. They said that between a contract and PAYG there won't be much of a difference, but it depedends on location. I asked him in the email about tethering and when I asked him about it one the phone, he didn't know what it was ... So I explained and he said you can't do it...

What is the ticket ?

In general what would be the better option, as the main use for the phone is the internet ( say 60% use is for the internet. )

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but here goes :

My Brother has been with o2 for 5 years, right after the first year they reduced his line be £5, every year the deal has changed i.e free phone upgraded, unlimited texts etc etc. Do you think o2 will do this with any iPhone owner after say the 18 months is up, as an intensive to keep with the network ? Most other networks do this too, vodafone gave my Father new Phones, cheaper lines etc.

... But since it's the iPhone, I wasn't sure they will do this.

Nstocks

Why not give them a call if you're concerned?

Yeah, I did, just thought it was funny that the status hadn't updated at any point when the driver must have stopped driving (from Birmingham to Inverness, I assume they didn't do it in one journey!).

Anyway, because I'm so 'remote' deliveries aren't daily and it's coming tomorrow :)

There is no way they will do this as long as they are the only carrier of the iPhone. They may offer incentives if they lose their exclusivity deal, but at present, if you don't want to pay their prices, where else are you going to go? They only really offer incentives if you spend a lot of money with them, or threaten to leave*

*However, as a slight aside to this, I had a £5 discount on my line. My contract just ended so I upgraded to the new iPhone on the £35 tariff. When the guy put it through the system (o2 store) he noticed the discount and said 'I don't think it'll work on an iPhone plan but we can try' - he clicked a button and it seemed to apply the discount. Will have to wait until my bill comes through to see if it stayed on. So if you have a discount currently it may be worth asking them to try and leave it on.
