Again and again and again that "stress test" is ridiculous...
8 iterations of a less than a minute benchmark aren't a stress test.

This is a real stress test and the S7 started throttling after about 11-12 minutes , with performance halves after about 25 minutes...

S7EdgeChart-21.jpg

[doublepost=1458833914][/doublepost]
S7EdgeChart-21.jpg

Plus the Reddit link posted above, showing stutters all over the UI...
[doublepost=1458834064][/doublepost]
From the same review you linked:

we still managed to find lag across the user interface, including random stutters and framedrops. Indeed, our go-to GPU profiling test showed many skipped frames when scrolling through the Play Store, significantly more than our 810 devices running stock or close-to-stock software (Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2). We’ve also encountered random input lockups where performance did not take a hit but we simply couldn’t interact with the UI for a few seconds

And if the user can't notice any heat, throttling, stutters, and framedrops, then all of the above is irrelevant.

One of the purposes of throttling is to avoid heat. So why would I give a damn if I personally don't even notice and everything is running just as fast and smooth?

Yea the same people bragging about iPhone 6s performance "destroying" the S7, were the same trying to dismiss iOS9's abysmal performance when it came out. A bit ironic eh? :)

I guess a game taking a couple of seconds to load is a deal breaker, but the entire phone stuttering and lagging everywhere is fine.

What a stupid post.......benchmarks mean nothing. Fact is the Galaxy S7 wins in what matters most.

Best camera on a smartphone
Best display on a smartphone
Battery life that last full day then some
Then expandable storage
Waterproofing IP68 rated
wireless charging

You can have all the benchmarks you want..... the Galaxy S7 went more for the user experience....
No lag whatsoever when actually using the phone.

Best rated smartphone ever tested by Consumer reports

http://www.consumerreports.org/smar...-s7-smartphones-top-consumer-reports-ratings/

But hey....you can hold on to the benchmarks if thats all you got.....

Here they are side by side both with a 5.5 inch display.
The S7 is a big engineering win over the 6s+

Sure. Samsung loyal customers won't notice heat, throttling, stutters and frame drops.

according to XDA developers, the one lagging and stuttering is the S7:

Did you see the video in my post? The video in the OP has a rigged S7 so it would lose because I know it's not that slow,Another point to note is that the Global Exynos variant of the S7 is faster than the US only Snapdragon variant

Except your logic is flawed, See the original test was a Galaxy S7 Vs. an iPhone 6S plus, not an iPhone 6S as depicted in your video. Even the 6S Plus is faster than the 6S. There was nothing OP'd about it. It's just a standard 6S plus.

You should pay more attention to detail, it's the difference between
Samsung! go faster
and
Samsung go faster!

I'm sorry that the results didn't go your way, but hey maybe later this year Samsung will have speed bragging rights. It's a shame that Consumer Reports rating the S7 as #1 phone wasn't enough for you.

Meanwhile have fun with Stagefright. (You know that might have been why the S7 was slow in that video).

Oh yeah another stupid post. Like you know anything about what an Android nest is? Quoting XDA as a source...they are great over there...but they are biased towards STOCK Android. Since you like them so much them so much and hold their opinions in such high regard, what do you think their opinions are toward Apple, IOS and the iphone? They think it sucks!

So now the iphone gets beat by the Galaxy s7/Edge on design, camera, display water proofing, external storage and according to you those are all gimmicks?

Do try to educate yourself and gain back some lost credibility.......

I don't care about XDA website... The existence of those forum, where ROM are customized , is the very reason I find Android ridiculous.
But if even a nest of Android lovers like XDA criticize the S7, well, only a true Samsung supporter could defend it.

S7 DOESN'T beat iPhone on design: it's subjective and totally debatable.
Camera is better, for sure. Not a deal breaker for me (the iPhone 6S camera is still very good).
Display ? I don't want an OLED display. I don't want a PenTile matrix. So NO, it's not better.
Water Proofing: good, but hardly a significative point for me.
external storage: lol. Just lol. It's 2016, I don't care about unreliable slow SDcard. And Samsung crippled SD card support on the S7 anyway.

SO YES, gimmicks. As usual for Samsung. A lot of gimmicks to attract spec lists lovers.

But the hardware isn't even able to keep performance over 15 minutes. Lol.

After the hysteria on this forum about a few frame drops on the iPhone it was laughable to read something like that regarding the Galaxy S7.

The mobile processors in your macs in your signature can't keep full performance for 15 straight minutes either. Look at Samsungs technique like Intels turbo boost feature

Class 10 u3 SD cards are actually pretty fast, what do you need higher than 90mbs write for? Considering the OS runs on faster flash too

Something about you makes me rage

You love the minority issues don't ya, meanwhile ignoring the majority user experience in both Macrumors and XDA forums from us users that actually own the device.

By your logic of judging by minority experiences, the iPhone must suck badly and be completely insecure. I mean you got users in the iPhone thread complaining about freezing, and even a front page MR article that reveals how Apple approves password stealing apps. Now using your own logic again, those minority experiences means you MUST be having a horrible experience on the iPhone. ;)

This is true. Apple throttles the dedicated GPU on my Mid 2015 MBP, and I don't give a damn, as long as I don't notice and everything runs smooth, which it does.

Side by side the design shows even more how much it beats the iphone....
Both have 5.5 inch screens. Notice the BIG difference in display quality!

There is no "Samsung technique". That is just Samsung and Qualcomm struggling to keep the pace of Apple in SoC performance. They can reach the same level running one benchmark, even surpass Apple in some cases, but not even play a game for 15 minutes with a constant frame rate...

Turbo Boost is a totally different matter.

Class 10 SD cards still are way slower than NVMe used in my iPhone.

Which majority ?
Every year I read the same thing about Samsung's products, then I try myself and find out the same answer: Samsung can't compete with Apple.
The S6 I own will be soon sold because its' just another Samsung phone I don't like (and my son's S5 surely isn't any better).

lol, the only thing I can see here is a reviewer that can't set two displays at the same brightness.
Plus the distortion that a gimmick curve display does at every page.
And you just showed me how poor android is in user experience: look at 2 equally sized displays, and the iPhone app shows just more of the same webpage.
Android as usual is incoherent and bloated.

I don't have to demonstrate silly things like that.
I posted several photos of the S6 I own in the past days, responding to silly requests like this... Do your research if you wish.
The point still is I don't like it and I wouldn't buy one even for $100 (fortunately I don't have to pay to receive Samsung devices, smartphones and tablets. I usually pass them to my elder son because even my wife, after the embarrassing S4 experience, doesn't want a Galaxy anymore and switched to the iPhone 5S).

You do like them ? Good for you.

.
Indeed.
I probably owned more Samsung phones than most of the hardcore Samsung supporters here, because of an agreement with my organization.
I used to pass them to my relatives, but they are getting bored by those devices over the time...
Let me try to remember: i600, wave, Galaxy S2, S advance, S3, S4, S5 and S6. I don't know if I'm going to get an S7 because I'm asking to switch to nexus devices for security reasons (it will be hard....).

I'm genuinely curious why you still own an iPhone based on your past posts. I know you've said in the past it's the best of both worlds but all I seem to read is you touting how much better the Galaxy is vs your iPhone. I see threads started with Galaxy beats iPhone in xxx by you. What do u find appealing about the iPhone to want to keep a 1000 phone? Because seemingly all I've read is how much more you enjoy your Galaxy.

I am still curious why you are in this section based on your posts? You have self professed to hate Samsung....you don't like or own an Android phone. Yet here you are in the Alternative section yet again? Why?
You participate in every Samsung thread and say something negative....everyone of them. Why?

I'm really not. I don't think I've ever said I hated Samsung, at least the mobile division. Just because I don't own a phone doesn't mean I'm not interested in other brands.

No I don't know the answer because instead of just telling us what you like on the iPhone as opposed to the Galaxy to in your opinion justify keeping a 1000 phone you instead keep calling me whatever. If it's anything like my situation, I prefer Android as a mobile OS over iOS but I can appreciate both OSs and like how each ones benefits cover the others flaws. E.g. In terms of tablet apps and content Android is lacking while iOS has an abundance of stuff for tablets so I use an iPad as it gives me the best tablet experience although when it comes to other functionality it's lacking tremendously, seeing as I have my phone almost 100% of the time I want an OS that is open to other devices and allows me to do things in multiple ways, no lockdown and sand boxing, iOS is lacking in this sense and tends to feel very limited yet Android is far ahead in that area so my phone is Android.

It's the truth though. I can own an iPhone or any phone for that matter and still be interested in other brands. But to buy a phone like the iPhone which in our case is 1000 to be curious about is fine. But why keep it if you own another phone that in your words blows away the iPhone in hardware, you're happy with the software as well. To the point where you post threads here proclaiming how much better the Galaxy is than the 6s plus. So why keep the iPhone? It's a simple question really. What about the iPhone do u like that makes you keep it that the Galaxy doesn't do?

In terms of tablet apps and content Android is lacking while iOS has an abundance of stuff for tablets so I use an iPad as it gives me the best tablet experience although when it comes to other functionality it's lacking tremendously, seeing as I have my phone almost 100% of the time I want an OS that is open to other devices and allows me to do things in multiple ways, no lockdown and sand boxing, iOS is lacking in this sense and tends to feel very limited yet Android is far ahead in that area so my phone is Android.

So u prefer iOS on tablets. Ok. But again I'm asking about phones. You obviously prefer android for your mobile phone. That's good. But again why have both if you obviously prefer android or in this case Galaxy? What about the iPhone is appealing where you'd keep it, a 1000 phone even though you much prefer the Galaxy?
