iPhone 6(S)/Plus iPhone 6S - Restoring from Backup Stuck at Time Reamaining: estimating...

I literally read this whole thing and it didn't work.
Got mad and went to go to the bathroom. Came back. 29 minutes remaining.

This thread is NOT magical for me, I read through all the comments, and apparently reporting iCloud as being "down" on down detector, and my bathroom are magical instead. Down detector got it to go from "estimating time left" to 6 minutes and then my bathroom got it to go from 6 min to 1 min.
I **** you not: been trying everything for the past four hours - nothing helped so I googled "iPhone restore stuck in estimate", found this thread and already after reading page 1, I went to my phone and whazzzzzaaa, it was working!!

Okay. This is insane!!! Been trying to restore a replacement iphone all afternoon. The back was stuck for hours on "Estimating remaining time". Nothing was happening. Aborted the back and restarted the process several times. Nothing. I attempted the restore one more time before calling Apple. Stumbled on this thread. Read through it. Now the restore is working like a hot damn. This is my first post to this forum. Had to share. Believe in the magic!!
At first I didn't believe in the magic but after I read the first and the last page of this thread and then it appeared "Time remaining: about 12 minutes" I was like "THE MAGIC IS REAL!!!"

I thought this thread was BS. My 1st attempt to restore from iCloud failed. I reset the phone and did a Google search for a solution. It was stuck on the time estimating for about 5 minutes. I read 3 pages of the thread thinking this is so stupid. To my surprise I look down and phone was at 27 mins. Coincidence or magic, it's only right for me to sign up and post that I guess this thread helped me out.
The dream is still alive. I was in the Apple Store and stared at my phone saying Time Remaining: Estimating... for at least fifteen minutes before I gave up and cancelled so that I could make a phone call. I came home, reset my settings and had the same thing happen for at least five. All I had to do was read through the first few pages of the thread and BOOM! Six minutes remaining.
Now I know what you might be thinking -- of course it started working, you just didn't wait long enough for the restore to start. BUT, I can promise you there's nothing better than reading ten pages of people reporting that the internet is magical and the Apple knows what they're reading on another device so well that it fixes a bug.
Who cares, IT WORKS!

I was at my wit's end trying to restore backup from my iCloud after my phone needed to be restored.
From 9.0.2, I just updated/restored to 9.3.5 firmware. I actually restored it TWICE already because the first time it gave me an error "CANNOT RESTORE BACKUP". I tried to restore backup more than 10 TIMES to no avail!
I even placed my phone beside the router as suggested by the others in the Apple forum. NOPE. Still stuck at estimated time remaining.
So I Googled "restore from icloud takes forever estimating time" and this magical thread was the 1st result so I clicked it. AND HOLY SMOKES! I was on Page 5 and just kept reading... not glancing on my phone just to see if this magic really happens... but then my son came home from school so I went outside to meet him. Lo and behold, when I came back just 2 minutes later to continue reading this thread, curiosity got the best of me and I checked my phone.

This. Is. So. Crazy. It worked for me too! Been trying to fix my phone for hours now and I had almost given up and then stumbled across this forum. I read some of the responses and thought I'd check my phone again. After probably 20 minutes of "time estimating" or whatever it says, it finally moved and said 2 minutes left! So strange. But very cool.
I was going to post that the thread magic didn't work, but I figured what the heck I'll look at my phone one more time. After 3.5 hours of estimating (I sat at the Apple store wifi for a while and then had a long drive home because I live in the middle of nowhere), it's now 43 minutes remaining... seriously how the heck...
My apologies for the long post in advance.
So little impulsive me decides to get the iOS 10Beta on my iPhone 6s because a friend has it and it looked cool. I went through the rather long process of signing up for the Apple Beta program, downloading the profile, updating, whatever. And.. I hated iOS 10. Not saying its bad, it simply wasn't aesthetically pleasing to me. So, I had my backup done prior, right, at 12:05 am PST, and I decide okay lets delete this thing and go back. It took me about an hour to fully remove it. Another hour trying to figure out why in the heck iTunes was saying my 64gb iPhone didnt have enough space for the restore to be done. Another hour digging around Google for possible explanations as well as failed attempts at making a Genius Bar appt. Found this thread at around... 4:30 am or so. I got so frustrated I did the reset where you delete everything off your phone, and its brand spanking new. After multiple failed attempts at restoring, I said ok whatever even if this attempt doesnt work, at least I'll be entertained reading. Not gonna lie, the estimating bit went away after reading a couple posts. Stayed on 2 hours until maybe the 5th page, went down to an hour. Kinda funny how if I would look over at the tiny window above Chrome too often it would go back up. Around page 8 I decided to take a bathroom break, came back and the green bar had moved significantly. It's now 5:09 am and I'm at 35 minutes. It's been a long process, but there's definitely good vibes on this website and I made an account to keep it going. Might go back to the beginning and read again, since I dont wanna fall asleep before this finishes up. Wish me luck! Hope this restore gives me back all my iMessages and whatsapp and good happy things I had saved on my phone <3

Tried to update my phone to iOS 10 and it froze my whole phone and required me to restart it back to factory settings. The screen was stuck on "Time remaining: estimating..." for about 30 minutes before i found this thread and started reading. At first i didn't buy that it was "magical" but within reading about up to the 5th page it showed about 10 minutes estimated remaining. The less i looked at my phone the faster it went, and as soon as i read the last comment on the 10th page it was down to 1 minute!! Go to make an account and it was completely restored and showing the apple logo. Definitely a believer! Spooky stuff.
