Who knows but this is definitely a positive sign.
Are you guys getting notified by email about delivery dates? Or are you just checking the site?
Posting this info since my original thread got merged:
We should start seeing some movement today or tomorrow with the order status.
Once we get to 'preparing for shipment' we should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin

This is if your order has gone to prepared to shipment.
Just to give some people some hope, I'm pretty sure most of us that at least ordered within the first hour or so will be getting it launch day regardless if your shipment says late September to November. The reason I say this is look at the first week sales of the iPhone 6s, it did roughly 13 million first week, as we know time and time again Apple breaks their own record. Now to think Apple sold 10+ mill within a 1 hour window is just crazy talk, is it possible? Maybe. The fact of the matter is I'm pretty sure within the first hour Apple has probably sold anywhere from 100k-1mill in just an hour which means anyone within window should be good for launch. Again I'm just giving those with a later time window a glimmer of hope ☺️
Alas I wish that was true but a lot of people have 'preparing for shipment' and people like me with a delivery later than 23rd don't. If it was gonna come for release day then it would have said 'Preparing for shipment' by now.
To give you hope, when I ordered my iPhone 6 back on launch day it said preparing for shipping all the way up till l when it reached my UPS building, so basically the system is just a little bit too slow at updating, so don't worry lol.
Hmm. My delivery date is Sep 20-22 and my order is still processing..
In most cases the amount of volume the system is taking because of so many orders it tends to lag big time, like I've said even when my iPhone was delivered to my UPS facility it still said preparing for shipment, and it was coming from China.
Same boat here I ordered at 2:01 CS and got November ship date, plus Im selling my 6+ since i got a great deal on it so I will suffer with idk what until my 7+ arrives...
Cool! Is the delivery date on your apple order status page 09/16/2016 as well? Or does it say a different date?
It does show 9/16, but on the status page it's still "Preparing For Shipment."
