Hmm I wonder why some people get their phones earlier. I placed my pre order three minutes before you and i'm getting it on the Sep 20 at the earliest.

I can only speculate that it may have to do with the allotment of units of a particular model, color and capacity for each carrier and the delivery logistics.

ridiculous how people have ordered the same exact set-up through their respective carriers and have much better ship dates than I. Of course the first year I decide to use the Apple Store app, my order slips to 2-3 weeks as soon as the order is submitted. Bunch of bologna.

in the past, apple was the way to go, bc they were shipping out their orders then sending the carriers their respective shares of iphones....it will pan out over the next 2 days

My local hub is undergoing a mess of construction: I've had mine held at the hub several times, and it's always been a great, easy pickup. I still will likely do it this time, too, but I'm afraid that there's more of a chance for a mixup.

I was just thinking. Which UPS location were u going to have yours sent to?

No... think of insurance as a way of gambling, sometimes you win sometimes you loose.

Apple gives partial refunds on AppleCare if you cancel it under the 2 year term. I was given a $68 refund when I cancelled AppleCare on my 6 plus once I got my 6s plus.

Shipping info popped up on UPS courtesy of the MyChoice app. Black 128GB 7+. Contemplating calling UPS and having them hold it at the hub near me. We are heading out Friday afternoon so I'd rather not be waiting for the UPS guy. Will probably be able to pick it up when they open at 10AM if I have them hold it. Anyone have experience with this?
It is the absolute best way to go. No hanging at the house all day or stalking the delivery guy. Pick it up and have all day to play with your new toy.

I have ordered from Best Buy and att in the past. Both Horrible experiences. Last time I preordered att but called a small store and the guy held the last one for me. I cancelled my preorder from the store and got my phone the day after launch. I hope you get your phone soon.

For the last two years, all of my packages have been routed to the Independence Parkway location near 170 and 377. When I check the available places to hold for pickup on the UPS MyChoice site, the old Northside location doesn't pop up in the list anymore. I always select the hub that's in the MyChoice list because the package will probably be delayed since they'll reroute it after it gets to that hub. I've never seen more than 10 people waiting to pick up their iPhones when I've arrived at 8 am.

I did this last year and it worked out great. Just found out my UPS tracking number by tracking by reference and putting in my phone number.

I had initially tried to order through ATT.com, but I hadn't noticed that Chase had raised a fraud alert on the purchase and was asking for my confirmation. I ultimately ordered through apple because AT&T wouldn't accept my card. I show a $10.88 charge from Apple on my card, but I'm not sure if it's for something else (like app purchase) or what. Hopefully my card doesn't decline like it did AT&T when they ultimately try to charge it.

Confirmation email received at 12:08am PDT. Delivers 9/16. Went to "Preparing for Shipment" around noon yesterday. Phone is now showing in my support profile with a serial number. :)
Update: Was able to use the "Track by Reference" feature on UPS.com to find my shipment (used my phone number). I have UPS MyChoice, but since I'm having the phone shipped to my business address, it obviously didn't show up on MyChoice. The package is moving through Zhengzhou, China. Still scheduled for delivery on Friday 9/16.
