My order is still processing... I ordered at 12:05 a.m. PDT..

Device: iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Black
Delivery date: Sep 20-22

When will the order status be updated?

:(
I really hope that Apple will update my order status in the next 2-3 days. Shipping time is 6-8 business days

This is exactly what I want to know. I got my confirmation e-mail about 35 minutes after preorders started. I chose to pick up in store, but mine still says Processing Items. I see that a status exists for Shipping to Store. I wonder if we will see it go to this status soon or if it will just go straight to Ready for Pickup on Friday.

Wow I'm glad I'm not alone!! If it doesn't go straight to Ready for Pickup, I expect to see movement in our orders by Tuesday.

my order went from "prepared for shipment" BACK to "processing" yesterday. Has this happened with anyone else? My card has been charged yesterday (7+ verizon 128 black, ordered 6am CST on friday).

This happened to me as well! 7+ VZW 123 black ordered 1:08a MDT. Later in the afternoon it switched back to "preparing for shipment" and stayed that way.

Hmm I wonder why some people get their phones earlier. I placed my pre order three minutes before you and i'm getting it on the Sep 20 at the earliest.

I have already requested mine to be held at my local hub. In years past I go right in when they open and pick up the phone. Much better than waiting around all day

I have done this several times and it has always worked. Just contact UPS and choose the HUB closest to you.

But make sure you choose the Hub. If you want a local UPS store, they usually say your product won't be there until Monday for these Friday launches.

I was able to do it right through the UPS MyChoice app. Chose the hub 10 miles from my house.

I changed mine this morning for hold at the local UPS hub. Gives them PLENTY of time to make sure it gets routed there properly. UPS has seldom let me down and I think they have a very efficient system.

How soon after we're able to track is it safe to set it for hold for pickup? I've always had mine held for pickup, but generally haven't gotten the tracking number until a day or two before, once it's already in the US. It does offer me the option to set for hold right now, but IDK if I should wait until it's at least in the US first.

Thanks.

I think there's a possibility that there were phones in carts that were later deleted? I have no idea if that's something that could affect/benefit later purchases. I'm genuinely surprised I managed to even get launch day because I spent a lot of time looking at the payment options in the app straight up panicking because I had no idea what to even do. I was expecting a pushed back date after checkout.

If only I had this experience. This is completely off-topic but a word of warning:

Avoid using Access Points if you can. (They are UPS Stores.) They are franchised and you are left at the mercy of the owner, who in my case, did not show up to open his store during business hours for two days. Thankfully, I work closely with the retail shipping industry so I was able to get in touch with the district manager. The owner wasn't very happy with me but he was holding a paycheck in his store and didn't give anyone a reason why he failed to open his store during business hours.

Do you want this to happen with your iPhone?

I have never liked UPS and they don't seem to like me very much.

I contacted Apple (chat) about my order showing 9/16 when I ordered but my e-mail showing 9/27-29. Essentially the response was "We had a lot of orders, too bad, nothing we can do"

I shipped my phone straight to work this year. This is my first iPhone order where I have not lived in an apartment complex/college dorm where we have a front desk manager who can sign and hold all packages for us. I can't take the day off or get out of work early enough to hit up a UPS hub so I figured shipping it to work would be the best option. Our UPS guy is super friendly, and typically ships to all of the businesses in the area by 1pm but I'm sure it could be delayed due to volume.

I ordered around 12:30am on the 9th. Ordered from Apple via new upgrade program (may regret that). Chose iPhone 7 matte black 128. Found a case on Amazon that appears to mimic jet black with good protection. I will not be without a good case or tempered glass screen. My order shows preparing to ship with a 9/16 delivery date. Hope that's right. I have ordered Best Buy and Att in the past. Hoping this will be better. Good luck to all

I have done this several years and it is frustrating, but it is caused by the overwhelming traffic of other would be buyers like us, trying to place their orders. I too missed the 9/16 date this year. In the past when I have missed it, I have had success with checking the local store's inventory on release date and the days after. I would try going to the store, the morning of the release and then a few mornings there after. Typically, after the release day, they post the local inventory online each day and you can buy one for pick up in store. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice! Do you know if I've already placed an Apple.com order, will I still be able to place an in store pickup order?

I could not find it. Considering the high demand for Jet Black and Black 7 Plus iPhones, such a thread should be among the stickies.
I don't know how to make it a stickie but it's called "non-launch day group for Apple.com pre-orders". I created it if that helps you find it too.

I was hoping to make a group so we could start seeing when the non launch day orders start shipping!

You may be able to, it will depend on your carrier account. If you cancel the order you have placed in time, then you will be able to buy one locally. I have multiple lines on my account, so I have never had the issue of placing multiple orders.

Could you share the link to the case you got on Amazon?

My local hub is undergoing a mess of construction: I've had mine held at the hub several times, and it's always been a great, easy pickup. I still will likely do it this time, too, but I'm afraid that there's more of a chance for a mixup.
